I gotta say I love what ORAS did with the supporting cast, especially Wally. They really built them up to be people you actually had a couple of feels for outside of just May/Brendan.

Same here, you learn more of their character and makes that much better, also I just finished the Delta Episode and damn it was good, I REALLY hope that we end up getting more of this in the terms of DLC, cause their plot writing has gotten very good as of late.

I don't think there's going to be any DLC. Unresolved stuff is going to be in future games (X2 and Y2, Z, Delta Emerald, OR2 and AS2, if any of those end up actually being made) and some of it is probably just a nod to Emerald and won't actually be implemented.

I've been mostly taking my time, and just finished off the long, long surf and dive sections. Really, those were terrible, particularly the one-way water rapids. I'm sure I probably didn't get everything there, but I did get the three TMs so I'm pretty much never going back there again.

Also, have fun finding all the plates without a guide.

Everything Feels resolved. As much as I would love DLC stories around other legendaries, the mysterious rings kinda eliminates the need for it. The only thing they could do is story around the team that wasn't featured in the game.

I do know this, that cut to Wally's battle music for his final battle was just epic, they did so well with the NPCs, it made you WANT to encounter them and get all the feels, if this is how they are going to be doing the pokemon games from now on, then I'm a fan again

Been trying the Battle Institute and I always, always get destroyed by the fifth and last trainer. Not really much sense or hope in trying the Maison, then, when you're expected to get 50 win streaks and I can't even get 5.

But both of those are clearly designed to appeal towards competitive (I.E. perfect stats and natures) players, which I am not, so it's no wonder I end up being OHKO'ed by almost everything. Psychic from Gardevoir wiped my entire team in three rounds (and somehow it was faster than my Electrode, which is fully EV trained in speed, so I think it must have had a Choice Scarf).

For kicks, the QR code for my base is here (on this page it will update whenever I change anything):

Did some multi-battles with Wally as my partner. Most of the time it was him cleaning house with Mega Gallade while I did next to no damage (when Brave Bird Skarmory isn't wrecking things, something is wrong). A few times, I was completely out of the battle and had to watch AI vs AI. When people claim you need perfect mons at the Maison, they are not kidding.

But yeah, Wally is probably the best partner you can pick for multi-battle, so long as there isn't something that can OHKO Gallade.

Maybe the problem is not perfect mons alone brother, it's that your powerhouse is apparently Skarmory with Brave Bird!

That's basically it. The difference between the main game and post-game is extreme. And that's not really my only "powerhouse", but through the main game I was basically OHKOing everything with that, Electro Ball from Electrode, or Hi-Jump Kick from Blaziken. Now it's not really cutting it anymore.

I changed some of my moves up and am having a bit better success, but in Multi-battle I'm still almost always being carried by whoever my AI partner is. Steven's Mega Metagross also kills almost everything in one or two hits that's not a Dark-type. So it's pretty clear I wouldn't last long in the regular battles.

Meh, I'm just going to finish up the legendaries for now, get all the platinum crowns and go from there.

The problem is that's a pretty simple strategy. You're relying on just a move or two from each Pokemon, when what's actually needed is for you to have a moveset where every move has a purpose and a time.

Story mode's easy to get through on a few one-trick ponies. But Institute and Maison are more than that. It doesn't have to be stats or natures (even though it helps). It's about having a diverse team with a diverse movepool that has a purpose, whether coverage for types or a strategy of some sort that encompasses some or all of the team members.
