Can't stand when people say a generations Pokemon is bad based on just a few of them

Yes...I get it, Trubish is fucking terrible and so is Almamola, now would you care to talk about the others?

no...oh your just gonna say the whole Gen is shit cause of those two?

sure, ok, sounds totally fair and logical (not shitting on you Freeway or Enhas, just sick to death of Gen 1ers, Beedrill has a special place in my heart, but Gen 1 is still my least favorite, if Gen 1 was anything but the first games they'd be Shit on by EVERYONE, but nope. first games immunity, apologies for the rant, just tired of this Gen 1 elitist shit)

Oh, don't get me wrong. I got a lot of love for the other generations. Typhlosion, Torterra, Samurott Metagross, Flygon Septile, Pelliper, Sawk, Steelix, Glaceon, Beheeyem, Reuniclus, Breloom, Crobat, and Bisharp are all my bros and I love them and more to death. But if I spot a Hypno, Clefable, Primeape, Beedrill, Poliwrath, or Bulbasaur, I just can't fucking resist.

The team I have now only has one generation 1 mon. Four are generation 3 and the other one is generation 4.

I just wish the games had been better balanced from the start though. Even now, there's a few really good mons (and only if you use cookie-cutter builds), most are average and the rest are just trash.

One thing that did bug me about Gen 3 was that unless you picked Torchic, you have to wait a long time to get a fire type. Other then that, loved it.

Yeah, Numel is the first one you can catch and that's not until after the fourth badge (at least in ORAS, I never played the original games so I don't know if it was exactly the same there).

Both remakes have sucked when it comes to rebalance those mistakes, HGSS still has the god awful lack of fire mons and so does ORAS, HGSS still had the level inbalance as well! (and lack of certain Johto mons until pretty much the end).

When I start a new adventure, I like to make a team full of pokemon from that region though, I used Charizard for XY though!

Early Gen 4 (Diamond/Pearl) was horrific about Fire Types

Your choices were Rapidash or Infernape before beating Cynthia. That is it.
Best/Stupidest part? Flint. Fire Type elite 4, 3/5ths of his team are not fire types.

Now that I think about it Gen 2 and Gen 1 were pretty shitty about fire types as well. It wasn't until recently that we could get better access to them early in the game outside of starters.

Gen 2 is objectively the worst in many things tbh. I love the nostalgia and all, but it's true.

I think XY is the only game that has had a lot of variety to choose from in the very first routes.

Well Black/White 2 had a pretty good selection early on and it just got better from there

NOPE.
I know it's a hilarious joke and the fact it was used as an actual negative bullet point for the game is amazing, but thinking about it Gen III really did have an abundance of water types, and only Slugma, Numel, Torkoal and Torchic as viable Fire types.

Main team:

Mega Medicham (Medichamite)
Metagross (Lax Incense)
Drapion (Scope Lens)
Ninetales (Wide Lens)
Slaking (Choice Band)
Milotic (Weakness Policy)

And I also have Ditto (Choice Scarf) and Mega Glalie (Glalite). None of them are particularly good, but since I don't competitively battle and I'm basically done with the game now, it doesn't matter too much. Once I get the last two of those to level 100 I'll update my secret base and probably be done with it.

Edit: QR code for my base is here: http://3ds.pokemon-gl.com/user/Y-520-5178-P/secretbase
