![]() Azure Striker Gunvolt is a platform game coming out for the 3DS next Friday, with a mean pedigree behind it as a spiritual successor to Megaman Zero/ZX made by one of the creators of OG Megaman himself, Keiji Inafune. Spoiler: click to toggle Our hero, Gunvolt, is a member of a group of freedom fighters known as QUILL, who fight against a mega corporation called the Sumeragi Group, who corral humans with psychic powers like Gunvolt's and turn them into their own privatized soldiers. Spoiler: click to toggle One day, Gunvolt is tasked with assassinating a popstar backed by the Sumeragi Group named Lumen, seen above. However, things aren't as he seems, and he ends up rescuing Lumen instead, living with her true form, a girl named Joule. From there, he seeks to take out the Sumeragi Group, who are filled to the brim with psychotic psychics with various powers and weapons. Spoiler: click to toggle The game looks really fast paced, with a lot of powers, weapons, and moves to use, much like Megaman Zero before it, and the designs of the game are really appealing, so I'm pretty hype for the game myself. In addition, if you buy the game in the first three months, you get a small retro Megaman game featuring Beck from Mighty No. 9, also being made by Keiji Inafune. What do you guys think? You can check out more info here. |

Yeah, this game basically plays like it's a spiritual successor to the Mega Man Zero and ZX series. It's fun, and I like the whole score attack style this game has going for it with its rankings system. Zero wouldn't let you replay levels for higher scores, but this one does. Great stuff and has me ready for next year's Mighty No. 9. |
