Alright, dudes?
|
![]() The creative team behind Banjo-Kazooie and the original Donkey Kong Country series have reunited to create the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie! This is the closest thing we'll get to Banjo 3 and I'm excited as hell. Grant Kirkhope and David Wise, the guys behind the OSTs of Banjo-Kazooie, DK64, Donkey Kong Country and Diddy Kong Racing have returned to make the soundtrack. The Kickstarter can be found here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playtonic/yooka-laylee-a-3d-platformer-rare-vival What do you guys think? |

Ladies Love it.

I'm exited for it. Though I rather enjoyed Nuts & Bolts it was not a Banjo-Kazooie game, and this is something that'll be really nice to see, especially with the composers coming back. I'd be fine with "Banjo Tooie but more." really, but, they surprised me with Banjo Tooie itself, so I'm sure that i'll be pleasantly surprised with this too! |

The colors man, I need those bright colors. And the music and a lot of other things. I hope this doesn't go the way of Mighty No. 9 though. Edited by BAH GAWD KANG, May 1 2015, 12:16 PM.

More sizzle than a rasher of bacon.
|
I'd have more faith in it. Mighty No. 9 only had concept art and took a while to show actual gameplay. We're already getting a look at gameplay right from the get-go for Yooka-Laylee. Much more promising. I'll probably wind up contributing, I'm not interested in any of the limited rewards so I've got time to figure it out. Edited by TOH, May 1 2015, 12:24 PM.

I wasn't excited for this. Then I heard the David Wise and Grant Kirkhope music and suddenly I'm down $120 waiting for a boxed copy to come in two years. Also damn, met its goal in 40 minutes. The fact that they criticize DK64 for having tons of pick-ups in a tongue-in-cheek manner makes me have incredibly high hopes. Like 'yeah you guys know what you're doing'. Looking forward to this, as it's already funded I'm going to hold off backing until the end of the Kickstarter as I'm sure they're going to have to come up with even more stretch goals with the rate this is being backed at. As for the game itself, it's the 3D platformer I've been wanting to be made again for years! I hope this ends up succeeding well enough that we get more 3D platformers like this making a return. It's been too long! |

Alright, dudes?

I've never played Banjo-Tooie, never had it as a kid and my N64 is now packed away and with N64 emulation being so bad, I've never had the chance to play it. So this will be the first new "Banjo" game I've played since the original, if it counts. |

TOUGH BOY
|
I backed Mighty No. 9 (sigh) and let me tell you: I find it hard to believe that anyone on YL team will let it get to that point. I'll probably purchase the game rather than Kickstart but I'm happy for the donors and Classic Rare fans that are finally getting the game they want after many years of Current Rare being mostly disappointing. |

The game was funded in less than an hour and they're at 857,767 Brit Bucks as I type this. I think they're going to need more stretch goals. At this rate they stand to earn their cool million by tomorrow. This will be first rate, so I just can't wait.
