Uh, is it just me or is the recording's audio off sync? |

I loved Bowser and Nick just small talking, that was a really fantastic segment. More shows in general should do that. |

Man, getting caught up on the thread, the Dragons hate is a little more visceral than I was expecting. At least that means my boys TJ&E are hella over! I think that's where most of the salt is coming from. Did anyone else find it weird that last week presumably set up a #1 contenders match of Scorpion vs. Knuckles and instead we got the guy who beat Scorpion vs. the other guy in the plot scene with Scorpion and Knuckles? I mean, obviously it just comes down to reading too much into the initial scene, I just thought it was funny. |

If we look from storyline perspective, Sabin had to choose contenders, and Cage and Ganon were the first two to conveniently barge into the ring. No setup. Those two got big wins. For me, I didn't see Knuckles' plot as set up to #1 contenders, but just a regular match. I was surprised to see Duke instead, although that can be explained as Knuckles trying to climb the ladder before challenging Scorpion. It would've been funny if Knuckles interrupted Sabin's promo and Sabin said "no, go fight someone else". |

I have no shame
|
Yeah, the worst thing a champ can do is beat someone more popular than them. |

I think it's less to do with who is more popular and more to do with who would be the better victor from a narrative perspective. TJ&E have fired back from a disastrous debut to being one of the most consistently competent and entertaining tag teams, rocketing themselves right into a title match. And then they lost. I think there's still a lot of story for the Dragons to tell, especially if they establish themselves as one of the most dominant tag teams of all time, but in the shortterm the more satisfying ending was definitely a TJE victory. They'll get another chance at some point, though, so I'm not exactly heartbroken

Can someone please gif Gary's enzuigary whiff from about 7:42 into his match with Goemon last show? I mean, we've seen whiffs plenty of times, but the slo-mo, the blurred screen, the fact that Gary only missed because Goemon was nursing his little ninjas after an atomic drop...I think I need that as my new avatar. |

What makes it is him trying again and Goemon just grabbing him out of it while Cole is screaming. And then he just gets fed up and does it super abruptly. |

It just dawned on me just how long I've been watching this show. Y'know in my head people like Octodad and Kefka are still new comers? It took looking at the power rankings for me to realize they've both been in over 20+ matches. It's really weird to think about it but yeah, they joined during 2K13, same with Goemon, these three are veterans right now. Sure doesn't feel like I've been watching for almost 3 years now. It also kinda depressed me just how little momentum some of these guys have been able to get despite being here for so long. I was always raring to defend them as never having been given a chance, but now? They all pretty much have had that and just haven't really gotten anywhere. It's just weird I guess. |

Kefka is one of the most over wrestlers on the roster, so he's doing just fine. Octodad's appeal would wane somewhat if he was actually any good, he's the perennial underdog and you need those guys to fill out the undercard. Not everyone can be a winner. Goemon on the other hand, yeah. His career so far has been missed opportunities, while he has had some unfortunate booking in the past he has had enough matches to be able to forge something. His match with Travis kind of sums up his career. Gets a little bit of movement going and then when push comes to shove he's back to square one. However his match quality has been better recently and the one thing he'll always have over his partner is he's way better in the ring than Ebi. Beating Gary was a big win, so let's see where it goes. |
