I look forward to people stumbling to here next Tuesday and see Belmont doing Batista Bomb on everyone.

I find it hilarious that the thumbnail is Duke Nukem with co-op belt, even though he never had any belt at all.

Ha, it's interesting timing for sure. But I really appreciate seeing VGCW gets shoutouts still, even three years into this thing. Goes to show that while this concept is something many of us are used to can still be something completely new to many others. I'm really grateful for having our labor of love (...well, and hate for this incredible game...) shared with even more people.

I love how this community keeps growing, granted its not always been pretty, yet somehow we keep getting more and more new people to watch this, glitchy, frustrating game, more so if you even try making wrestlers! I don't know of anything else like this that is still going strong after 11 seasons.

We are a strange lot for certain. Watching such a silly show, maybe it's the fact that this sort of thing isn't for everybody that reinforces are enthusiasm for the show.

It takes a hefty amount of suspension of disbelief to be able to watch characters like Senator Armstrong fighting Illidan Stormrage and actually take it even slightly seriously, and yet here we all are coming back each week.

BOLIEVE
Changing the topic back to the mid-season PPV, I am fine with most of the possible outcomes, but I'm really torn between Bison and Groose. I like both, but neither are my favourite guys. I kind of want Bison to win because it adds to the story between the bullies and continues to sow descent there. However, I kind of want Groose to win, because, quite frankly, someone needs to retain the damn casual belt, and also a program between Groose and Haggar and/or Heavy for the title would be pretty cool. I dunno, I guess I don't mind which way any of them go...

Either way, Whoever wins has basically a premade feud with Heavy in the works. Every time Bison and Heavy have been in the ring with eachother it's been intense and they basically try to murder eachother.
There was the triple threat where Heavy had the win but then kept beating Bison down until CATAPULT CRUSSHAAA.
Then both of them were in the inagural Sunscreen Ladder match, where they immedietly went after eachother and had some great exchanges.
Now Bison is messing with The bullies, and the primarch Bully, The Groose.

and the only bully breakup angle I'll accept is heavy breaking out and getting replaced.

This is great stuff and I wish VGCW as a whole starts getting more exposure because the premise of this whole thing is entry level as hell and the more you get into it, the funner it gets!*

if you don't pay attention to game mechanics

Okay, mid-season PPV in coming, and we've already got (to my knowledge) four matches confirmed: our three title matches (Cage vs Sabin, Birds vs Dragons, and Bison vs Groose) plus an Armstrong vs Dracula grudge match. However, unless all of them are set to epic pace, four matches does not a Mid Season Show make. So what else can go on the card?

Knuckles vs Scorpion

TOH has more or less planted the seeds for a Knuckles push after the plot where the Mortal Kombatant snuck up on the Echidna, and it could very well be just the thing Knuckles needs to break into the top card. But is Knuckles really ready for Scorps? Yeah he has that ladder match under his belt, but his last four singles matches have been losses. Granted, his opponents weren't slouches (Dan Hibiki, Chief Arino, Johnny Cage, and Duke Nukem for those of you keeping score at home), but if Knuckles is gonna go one on one with Scorpion he's gonna need some sort of momentum in singles.

I'd suggest pitting him up against one of the challengers Scorpion toppled in his VGCW title reign, someone challenging but beatable, at the go home show before the Mid Season...Er, show. I'd suggest Dracula, but he's decided to fuck with the senator. Instead, I'd suggest either Snake or Red, two guys who do have some momentum going, and say if he wins the match he gets Scorpion at the Mid Season Show. DK would also be a good choice if you want to protect the aforementioned super spy and trainer, but...He's gotten in a bad habit of burying everything lately.

Long post short (too late), if Knuckles can get some momentum in singles before the Mid Season Show, he gets to fight Scorps. If not, I say hold off on the match till End Game.

Heavy vs Demoman

I think it's a pretty safe assumption to say I wasn't the only one who got hyped when the Blu Rogues burst on to the scene, and even more hyped when Guybrush and Vyse put on a good match (which they won) against Groose and Haggar. However, the match lacked a certain...Explosive factor, if you catch my cold.

Honestly I'd almost consider this a lock-Demoman has built up a reputation down in development as a quality juggernaut, capable of putting on a good match with damn near anyone, and as such became pretty much the most over male wrestler on the developmental roster when he and the Rogues got called up. So him debuting in ring on a Mid Season Show would certainly not be a bad thing, maybe as a curtain jerker or something. And we already have a ready made match for him, considering how Heavy got booted out of the aforementioned tag match by Groose, they both seem to have a history together, one's red the other is blu...It just seems to fit, you know?

Illidan vs Gary

As much as I want to see this match as soon as possible...Yeah, this is an End Game match. I could see Gary setting up another hoop for Illidan to jump through at the show, maybe by chucking him in another low card multiman or maybe trying to feed him to a Bowser or a DK or even a new call up (more on that in a bit), but I really don't see Illidan getting his hands on his former manager till End Game 11. Sorry big purple, just be patient a little longer...

Sonic vs Toad

Okay, in all likelihood this is probably just gonna end up on the go home show semi main or something, but I might as well mention it here just for completionist's sake. Anyway, Sonic vs Toad sounds like a fun little undercard feud that Toad thrives in and Sonic could use, if only so he can get a little more over in plot and stuffs, so I really hope it doesn't end next show. If it does end up on the Mid Season Show, I hope we see them interact just a little more in plot before then, if only because Toad is THE BEST in plot <3

Segata/Octodad/Layton

Why Segata's going after a perfectly normal human father, I have no idea.

Anyway, I'm starting to envision this subtle Octodad vs Segata feud to be a season long thing, just as something silly and light hearted to fit the tone of the season, and I feel like Layton's involvement at first was more than a mere red herring (and I'm not just saying that because I have Slayton picked in the Survivor game. Nope. Certainly not).

What I kinda can see happening is Segata trying to attack Octodad backstage at the go home show, only for Layton to come to the rescue and talk Segata down from hurting the perfectly normal human father outside the ring. Layton then offers to wrestle Octodad next show (i.e. the Mid Season Show) to try and quell Segata's rage and show him that he's not any type of sea creature. Alternatively, Segata can just straight up jump Octodad backstage at the Mid Season Show and we can get a classic Segata backstage brawl. Whatever floats TOH's boat.

Adam Jensen vs Break Man

This is a match that's been brewing for over two seasons now, and I truly think it should be saved for End Game. Heck, I think we should keep Jensen out of the ring until End Game where he just goes to wail on End Game. Still, we can build it up a little with this Mid Season Show-have Break and Big Breezy come out and cut a promo in the ring, call out Jensen, have his music hit...And he doesn't show. Or if you want to build it through a match, have Snake come out to defend Jensen and have him end up in either a handicap match against The Mavericks or just a straight up match between Snake and Break or Air Man. Again though, save Jensen vs Break for End Game. Please?

Phoenix Wright vs Miles Edgeworth

Outside of a plot scene that indicated that this match had been cut from End Game X due to time constraints, there hasn't been a whole lot building up to this match. Should it happen? Yes, but it needs a decent build first. You can't just chuck these two out there and expect to get the fullest potential hype, I think, and it might be best to save this match till next season. Still though, TOH's show, if he wants to do it far be it from me to stop him.

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!

This is something that comes up every important show, isn't it?

Anyway, I feel like this is something that COULD happen, but considering we just got The Rogues (bless you TOH for calling them up, and bless you Dudebro for making them a thing in the first place) I think we're good for callups till End Game. Still, I know a lot of people like to think the more newcomers the better, so here's my two cents on who should get called up:

-Sho Minamimoto (Explicitly given Bazza's blessing before he stepped down, a damn good CAW with hype entrance music, not doing anything in particular down in EDBW at the moment since his loss to Liquid)
-Francis York Morgan (One of only two of the fabled EDBW five left to not be called up yet, and since Strong Bad has already been given a bit of plot to work with and his recent win over Robin, it might be time for York to make the jump)
-Tony Hawk (Long shot, but he's already been featured in plot with Arino, so TOH must see some value in him. Still kind of green, but definitely not a bad performer and has a really fun entrance theme)

As for who the newcomer would go against, I mentioned earlier it would make sense for Gary to throw Illidan at this theoretical newcomer just to screw with his former client a little and put him in a lose lose situation-if Illidan wins, he buried a newcomer and gets heat. If he loses, Illidan continues his downward spiral. If you want to make something like this not plot related though, Red has been on a decent roll recently, and he doesn't seem to have many match options coming up for this Mid Season Show, so...Hint Hint?

We do not need more newcomers for a while. Assuming all three Rouges will have singles careers, and they should. We are officially SWAMPED with dudes right now.

Problem being everybody on the roster right now has a place and I can't think of anybody who deserves to be fired, closest we had was Falcon but he seems to have won everybody over again. Maybe there is s fighter or two who are ready to retire? Ether way, newcomers need to hold up for a while until the locker room gers sorted.

Problem is that everyone says "Yes we want callups" and then "No we don't want firings" and then everything gets bloated, etc.

Honestly, a great match for either the half-way or even End Game would be an I Quit for a contract. If it was built correctly and the stakes were high for everyone, I think it could turn out to be really good.

X: Doubt
Save Jensen vs Break for End Game? That's a TERRIBLE idea. We have the, no pun intended, breaking point having already happened. It's time for Jensen to man up, get out of that room, and break that smug robot prick's face in.
