I thoroughly enjoyed Gief last season, and I hope he remains in his current state. That being said, a couple moveset tweaks and some lighter booking would definitely help him. |

Gief is poopy and I don't like him, but since people seem to like his turnaround, I understand that he can't just be cut. Like Prozach said, though, he needs to be booked significantly less. Discounting the tag tournament with Gerudo Skies, the dude was booked in six matches last season; one of which was at End Game X and another was a fucking 30 Minute Iron Man. Compare that to someone like Goemon who got booked a grand total of three times last season, one of which being a tag match, and you can see where that starts getting egregious, especially considering all the mic time Gief got even when he wasn't booked for a match. |

Redeemed.

Well... I know what you mean, but you could kinda say the same for Duke. he's been around forever and has LESS to show for it than Ezio/Falcon. I don't think Duke's in danger, though. I also think that Falcon losing most of his matches while still giving us great performances isn't a bad thing. I'd rather embrace his status as a jobber than firing him. We kinda need more men like him. |

I feel like the idea that Falcon giving "great performances" is really questionable at this point. He's very 'runs out of steam before he can bring the hype'. Like Wily, but Wily is Lucha 24/7/365 and we haven't expected anything out of him for ages and it fits his character to not be a good wrestler. It doesn't fit Falcon at all and he's not being treated in a joking way like Vegeta was; he's just still being booked and sucking. I'd love to see Falcon retooled and given just a LITTLE more muscle mass, not mastadon but a little more than the lean muscle he has right now. But people have a right to be calling for his head and he should at least try to be entertaining. |

Sounds Like A Bodacious Time
|
My problem with Falcon is that in both his games and Smash Brothers he's incredibly charismatic. SHOW ME YOUR MOVES, YES! He has all sorts of crazy moves, stupid sound effects, and is unbelievably muscular and seemingly impossibly strong. Our Falcon is just bleh. He doesn't have the same charisma and flash that his counterpart has, his entrance is boring, his theme music isn't hype enough (It should really be Climb Up and Get The Last Chance or even his cheesy-ass song in GX) He's way too scrawny, and his moveset isn't fitting enough. He's fast, but he's also physically strong. His finishers are also kind of lacking. I understand the Falcon Punch, Falcon Kick, and Knee are iconic but this is a game with roots in reality so they don't have the same effect. Maybe the 12 Step (Falcon Dive) could work? He also needs more power moves in his moveset. Suplexes, Throws, etc. His whole speed focused strike heavy moveset doesn't work for him at all and I think it's what's causing a lot of his lack of charisma. TL;DR: Falcon needs a more muscular CAW, new entrance, more powerful moveset, and maybe some new finishers. Falcon is really too big of an iconic character to not have in VGCW and I want him to stick around, his current CAW does not do his character justice at all. I like Falcon as is, he's the better half of the Birds by a far shot, and I think that if he got a bit of a tweak he could actually do well. But at some point you have to realize, we need a lowcard, and by buffing some people to be above the lowcard, we in turn create a new lowcard. And then people will want to buff more people to be out of the lowcard and it just becomes a perpetual cycle of favorites being buffed harder and harder. He's entertaining in the ring right now which is all a CAW should really strive for in my opinion. I mean, Snake hasn't won a match since January. I think his streak is about seven matches, he's gone seven matches without winning, and he's regarded as one of the top performers in the company. You can be entertaining and still lose. Losing as badly as he's been isn't entertaining to a lot of people. |

Guile did nothing wrong

I really don't want Falcon to get canned but it would be understandable. Ever since that last End Game match with Ezio he hasn't even put up good fights. He'll occasionally get a hope spot but always ends up laying down after a single finisher. If anything he deserves to get beefed up with a new CAW and moveset. If Wario gets one, it should be a given for Falcon |

I guess I'm gonna take the unpopular opinion here and say I just don't get the gripe about Captain Falcon being a statistically weak character(win percentage wise, not commenting on his CAW itself.) He's a big part of the Smash brothers series, sure, but still one of the lesser Nintendo characters overall. What about his character from his series(since everyone has to be perfectly balanced in Smash, at least in concept) makes him seem like he'd be a powerhouse? 'Cause he drives a car fast? I mean sure we don't want lore to dictate character power, but it's a good place to start. I don't have anything against the Good Captain, I just don't need to see him win a lot to appreciate his role in the league. I hesitate to use the term "jobber" in VGCW since it's AI-based and you don't ever really want to see someone be a COMPLETE loser, but there need to be characters who are not as good to make the others shine. And maybe this is just me, but I wasn't entirely aware of his massive losing streak until it was pointed out. I seem to remember that for a fair amount of them, he at least put up a hell of a fight. The guy's got a title run in 2k14, that's better than we can say for a lot of people. |

Falcon won a "Over the Top Rope Battle Royal" and then squeaked out a victory against Grey Fox, and then immediately lost the belt to Air Man. It really wasn't much of a rein, even Bazza forgot that it ever happened. I'm of the belief that we can't save everybody, well, we CAN, but we shouldn't, if we want new guys old ones need to go. |

Order! Order in the court!

Honestly it's cause of Smash that he started to be considered a powerhouse or even a fighter, and that spread from there. All of his fighting moves right now comes from Smash, so you really can't take it out of the equation so easily like that. He's considered a powerhouse in Smash, first off because of his flamboyant and flashy personality, since he shouts out all his moves. Secondly, he has powerful moves like the Falcon Punch. The Knee of Justice was only named that by the Melee community because it's an aerial move that has a ridiculous hitbox with ridiculous knockback. In Melee he's top tier, adding to that legend status he has. Thirdly, his appearances. In Brawl as his first appearance, he does this: Spoiler: click to toggle Even in Smash 4, he does this when announced: Spoiler: click to toggle And in the anime, he does this: (which causes a huge explosion that can be seen universe-wide) Spoiler: click to toggle So yeah, I think he kinda deserves to not be a jobber. In his own games, he's a legendary bounty hunter, so obviously he can't be a pushover. In addition to being a number one champion at racing at incredibly fast speeds, it's safe to assume he probably also kicks ass as a legendary bounty hunter as well. |
