At this point I'm kind of hoping for some really wacky shenanigans or something to that effect with the plot. We're not limited to Dracula and Air Man cutting promos, you know. This isn't WWE, this isn't "bald white oily angry male one" vs. "bald white oily angry male two". This is a giant robot with a fan in his chest and limited understanding of human dialect versus a vampire. We can do things that normal wrestling can't, and I hope we get to see some of that to help make the story heading into this End Game worth it. |

I just kinda hate how many people have come out to say how much they hate Airman now and how boring they always found him. No one was rallying against him before, he was actually popular. Now because he was put in a match alongside Ezio and Knuckles, he's suddenly the most boring possible wrestler. The price of success in this show, I suppose. Just feels harsh to turn against Airman when there is so little doubt that he DID earn this shot. |

I thought Casablanca would be Public Domain at this point but it came out in 1943. Swore it was earlier. If my copyright law knowledge is correct, it becomes Public Domain in 2018 (75 years is the absolute limit for films/books published pre-1977). It WOULD be Public Domain if the stage production it was based on was published, but an adaptation only counts if the original work was ever formally published. TL;DR copyright law is a fucking mess. But hey, we can reupload it in 2018 and they can't do shit! |

I look forward to seeing how the team blows my mind. It's really in the fans' court to be open about it. If there is one thing anyone can have faith in, it's the writing. Edited by BAH GAWD KANG, Oct 28 2015, 01:17 PM.

The big benefit of having a lot of feuds and characterization in plot is that you get to put those to use later, and some connections that weren't immediately evident can be become realized. And it's also an opportunity to further explore characters who might need a little more to them, like in Air Man's case. Some brainstorming today's already yielding results. This wasn't the result many (including us) wanted, but the important thing is being flexible enough to write ourselves out of any situation. I've had the utmost confidence all season long that we're capable of doing so, and I think we've succeeded in that so far. |

Air man already has a fan inside him. He doesn't need fans! |

Guile did nothing wrong

Ezio was definitely the best option and it sucks that he got screwed over like that, but Air Man was still the second best. I love Knux to death but he still isn't any sort of top card threat. I mean, he beat DK but that's still his first win in forever and the whole thing wouldn't have felt like a real main event. Barret would need some kind of stip to make it interesting. Drac, for the first time in his career, is truly a topcarder. He's elite. His first defense being the End Game main event against one of the most consistently dominant guys on the roster is great, because it actually feels like two of the best are fighting. And like Semprini said, there's plenty of plot potential. Sabins reign was dull as hell personally because he cut the same promo about training hard pretty much every single time he walked out, which Drac thankfully brought up before taking the title. I have no doubt that whatever Toh's got in store will be more entertaining. (Though Sabin vs Knux would have been good since their plot is the only part of Sabins character that's enjoyable) |

Yeah, I noticed that too. I always thought the dude was at least somewhat popular, but now he's got a title shot and he's the worst, most boring wrestler on the roster. Regardless, Air Man's been waiting for a main title shot for seasons, and even if it came at a bad time storyline-wise, isn't that sort of thing what people are talking about when they say "Anything can happen in VGCW!"? From a booking perspective, it makes little sense why Knuckles wouldn't go to End Game to avenge his friend, or why Ezio's upswing wouldn't come to an ultimate conclusion, but a trend in VGCW is that storylines don't always go the way you'd expect them to in real wrestling. Air Man got here by being good at wrestling, and now he's going to End Game. Simple as that. I honestly see it as a bit of a lack of faith in TOH and the creative team that some have already written off Dracula/Air Man off like it's gonna be the most boring thing in the world. |

As long we don't get another "Cate / Jade" (aka hot potato) incident I'm sure it'll be fine. |

It's historically discouraged to be a Debbie Downer for the sake of it around here, so it's not really surprising that people who've been quiet about Air Man before now are only just getting uppity now that he's forced himself into relevance. It's not a new hatedom, it's just not as pronounced. He had kind of the same woodwork for his Casual run. It might seem weird that I'm kind of defending his detractors, but...I'm a detractor, too, so fuck it. (speaking as creative, though, we got this) Edited by Cran Rightia, Oct 28 2015, 01:50 PM.

It's hard to be optimistic when I can't point out a single match of Air Man's that I would classify as 'excellent' or even 'good' because of him, but I sure can remember a whole lot of dull squash matches. Add that to the fact that Air Man has no real character to speak of, beyond being used for the same joke over and over and over (As good as the writing has been this season, no writers can make the same 'Beep boop. I am robot that takes all things literally.' joke work for the hundredth time.) and I don't think it's necessarily indicative of a lack of faith so much as a healthy skepticism. I don't watch this show for random AIs being random at each other, I watch for the stories, and Air Man's win, seemingly even by the author's own admission, is the weakest of the potential stories we got, so I feel perfectly okay being grumpy about it! So has Airman actually been written into a no-win situation here? Lose, and get your shot at the main belt be complete reset. Win, and be the least interesting possibility of the group? If even the people writing the show didn't want him to win, it really feels like he's been fucked over more than he's fucked us over. |
