I think the plot matches and Sonic/Toad were the only prerecorded matches.

Oh, right, Sonic vs. Toad has to have been prerecorded. Forgot about that.

The pre-recording made the plot a lot more epic, and Sonic/Toad didn't matter too much in terms of who actually won it.

Basically, it worked pretty much perfectly.

With Air Man having lost his shot, Groose being loosed from his belt and his faction, and the Dragons having demolished the tag division, please allow me to re-state my desire to see Guile and Groose tag up in order to earn the triple crown, except they're constantly trying to thwart/ditch the other at every turn.

NOPE.
Guile/Groose could be a neat team. They've got the Ring Rangers tie-in, and Groose was the only one of the former members that didn't reject Guile out of spite (he was just too sad about his title).

Yeah but then Guile called him a crybaby and insulted him to his face.

Like the Fuckheads don't do that to each other all the time. As a team, it has potential.

Anyway, mind telling what stuff from EGX1 was prerecorded? At this point, I can't tell what gets prerecorded and what doesn't, heh.
I want to say Segata/Octodad's dual match, but that might have been live top-tier editing for all I know.
Already said, but yeah, Sonic/Toad and the GameShark stuff were prerecorded, purely for the sake of presentation.

That's pretty much my stance on prerecording as a whole, and it reflects in my opinions of WVGCW and EDBW; presentation trumps everything in this medium, and I value the story over the competition. VGCW highly values its live nature, though, so prerecorded stuff will only be in edit-heavy cases like these two/three matches.

Ah, I see. Thanks

Yeah, I'm fine with pre-recording, especially if it enhances the story, and it really did with the GS matches.
The story is what got me into VGCW, after all.

I don't really mind if it's pre-recorded or not but I guess there's some magic when the show is live and not even the creators (TOH and the rest I mean) know what the hell is going to happen.

The production benefits of pre-recorded matches are great too though, so I like both options.

I would like to point something out for all of you as a means to say how funny/fitting this is.

In the Glitch DK/Segata/Octodad/Proto Man match...thing, not many people called it out, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut Segata Sanshiro beat Donkey Kong with a Monkey Flip.

So, was Donkey Kong/Segata actually recorded in WWE13?

That means that kickout was like a 1 out of a 100 chance, right?

Given the match length up to that point, it was a little unexpected, yeah. DK got the finisher so late because Segata denied his Comeback at one point. DK also kicked out of two sig-finisher combos from Segata and promptly went down to a transitional Monkey Flip.

Par for the course, little wierdo.
You know. Watching the match again made kinda sad that we might not hear Angels With Burning Hearts again. But like with Segata, with a sendoff like that I don't think I mind to see it go.
