MAY IS ̶B̶A̶E̶ HEEL!
So I have a couple of questions about the season if you guys in creative wanna answer.

What made you choose Octodad and Segata as the main protagonists for Season 11 and was anyone else considered for the lead roles?

Where did the idea for the Gameshark being the main antagonist for the season stem from?

Which characters do you feel benefited the most from this season?

Thanks for the season guys, looking forward to Season 12!

Segata was a bit of a combination. One side is his commercials, especially his last one where he saves the Sega office from a missile, but it leads to an ending of his character. The other is Brock Lesnar F-5ing a shark for an old SummerSlam promo (I don't think I ever said this to Cran and Kryptik, just the shark thing in general). So it led to the idea of Segata fighting off a shark to save VGCW. But then the idea turned into the shark being the GameShark. So that answers 1 (partially) and 2.

Octodad just kinda...happened. Segata was the first one interested in stopping the GameShark, and who else would know better than another sea creature? Enter Octodad.

Lead roles, well the Disciplinary Committee was a thought, but as you can see they weren't much direct help. Break Man was considered early on, but then we downplayed it, only to make a late decision to actually get him involved again anyway, leading to the double match that happened.

As far as those who benefited, Dracula's obviously the biggest one. Heavy and Haggar both coming into their own was very important. Sonic had a career revival of sorts. Ezio had a really nice start although he did cool down later on. I think Layton helped his reputation too, we didn't think he had a great reputation but he won some very important matches over Haggar and Ezio.

Are you implying Octodad is some kind of sea creature? That's ridiculous.

I think he meant that he knows enough about the sea to combat the Gameshark

While we're asking plot-specific questions, was the narrative for Haggar planned from the beginning? That storyline looked like it was going dark places but then didn't.

Yes. We thought Haggar was too out of character and devised a method to rectify that, and then we remembered the Ring Rangers cleaning his clock and Guile had nothing better to do this season, so.

How seriously the chat took the storyline caught us a bit by surprise, because it was coined as a comedy plot to start out. We were a little wary of getting a Chun Li death reaction. But we played into it anyway because it got people invested.

For something you guys decided to roll with you did really well with the later scenes of it then, kudos. Definitely one case where something got the right reactions from chat, I'd say.

I know you guys probably don't book by POTENTIAL outcomes
but did you have any plans if say, Ezio had won that four way to go to Endgame?

What do you think was the biggest shortcoming of this season, or big thing you wanted to do, but it just didn't work out? It looked like there was a Falcon rehabilitation planned before Infinite Summer, and I guess that got shelved for whatever's going on in Season 12?

Ezio/Sabin would have been awkward to write, but we were really hoping to capitalize on Ezio/Dracula and play on the runback. Their history really spoke for itself in a lot of ways. Speaking entirely for myself, Ezio was my second most wanted choice.

Again, speaking only for myself.

There were a number of hurdles in there, mostly in plot distribution. I'd say Salvation Ops coming up short for the titles was a bummer, but not nearly as much as Birds of Prey losing. There was actual yelling in the meeting afterward, mostly from me because I like to yell. Captain Falcon was getting his rehab, and I've always wanted to make the point that win-loss records aren't everything, so Phoenix/Falcon didn't disappoint me. It was Falcon getting blamed for failing the title match that Ezio earned and then getting thrown out of the Rumble in second in the same night that really scarred him, though. It wasn't his fault, but fan perception doesn't always accommodate these things. Ezio had that, too, when he was consistently screwed in matches but still had to live with the paper simply saying "Lost". Even now, in the back of my mind, that's the thing that irritated me the most about the whole season.

There are a hell of a lot of wrestlers who have risen from the bottom of the barrel and jumped back into the audiences good graces this season, such as Jensen, Sonic, Ezio and most noticeably, Dracula. Out of all the wrestlers who's careers have basically been dragged from the gutter and put back on the right track, which ones are you the most proud of managing to do?

I feel like Ezio is the easiest example to list, because his star just went ablaze in a single promo, but honestly? The real miracle is Sonic. He was on the shortlist for cuts if it came to that. Now he isn't. Complete 180.

Hah, I like this little impromptu Q&A. TOH and Kryptik, get in here.

What were some of the initial drawing board ideas for Season 11 when the three of you came together for your first creative meeting?

I thought the Haggar arc worked purely because of the Layton match. It was one of the few occasions where you guys set up the premise and the game gave you exactly everything you needed.

Was somebody like Wario or D.K always going to get cut even if they had won all their matches this season or are you booking with whatever the game gives you?

Which character proved the most difficult to write during Season 11, either due to conflicting match performances with their existing character, or just because the character himself is very complex?
