Where's Zangief?

On serious note, I notice that three of you have been making plot together. Do you call dibs on specific characters?

At the beginning, yeah, but we sort of bled into each other's characters as we fleshed them out. So it was effective at getting them started and it allowed us as a team to "get" a character more so we could write them ourselves. There's still some preferred writers for certain people, but it's been a big help.

Each of us definitely has a character we're comfortable writing, and when we're tacking onto a scene involving someone we're not sure about, often times we'll make an outline of what we're trying to get someone to say and the person with the best writing 'voice' for him will usually go back and make flavor edits, if necessary.

Any characters that surprised you with how they became enjoyable to book or write for? Or just any favorite angles, promos, or plotlines this season, purely from a 'this was fun to put together' perspective?

Thanks for all you did, guys. Really.

Arino's TamaGe segments were a fun change of pace. Kryptik made the first two, and I handled the End Game one as well as the audio direction. It was just something different to bring to the table.

The TamaGes were TOH's idea from the start, and part of the fun and trouble of that was finding personalities and games that fit the atmosphere. TOH definitely is better for the audio direction on those though.

For me, I had a blast writing Ezio to begin with, and as Cran already noted, we were pleasantly surprised how invested everyone got with Haggar which made pushing his line along something look forward to. Far as my personal favorite things to work on, outside of the promotional stuff (Sho's teaser, the End Game Trailer/Intro), I think it's a tie between the stinger featuring the Fuckheads/Saiyans stuck in Buffalo, and Vegeta's Jester segment. I didn't expect to really do much with the Saiyans, but things kept snowballing when working on those segments. Props to Cran, by the way for the idea both for the audition and the Zack Ryder part.

During Bazza's final Q&A for the channel, he mentioned Kanji was his third choice behind Sho and Raijin, both of which he had problems getting their CAWs together to a point where he had to shelve their debuts. And now, here they are debuting this season. Was this always planned, or was there another Kanji situation that led to their debuts?

I'm a big TWEWY fan, so I've been in support of Sho even before this season. I think knowing Bazza was going to use him was pretty surprising as it's not a non-EDBW call-up I would have expected from him, so that in itself made it feel a little...safer? He was on the shortlist no matter what, though. And the events of the season accommodated his call-up too.

Raijin, we just wanted to make the Disciplinary Committee feel a little more relevant in the scheme of things. Having one of them in the ring helps with that, and Raijin fit the beach theme best as he'd probably have the most fun with it, so we put him on the roster. The first episode was a good time to have a nice surprise.

I don't remember if Sho was someone the entire team was set on bringing in right at the beginning, but he was easily on the short list for call-ups early.

Considering how PK Chu went, and ignoring how fair or unfair that was, what was the reasoning behind making Illidan and Red a proper team rather than just a one time alliance? Considering they teamed up pretty much solely for revenge, is there a reason you wanted them to stay together?

Illidan and Red were just good ol-fashioned adversarial booking, a staple of wrestling to begin with. They had a shared purpose, and it gave an avenue for finally getting into Red's character. Plus, you know, Gary being Gary. That said, they're also good enough foils to each other that they have great potential outside of their revenge tour.

What was your favorite match of the season?
Also, what win shook things up the most? Was there a match that you were pretty sure on one outcome coming out of it and then went "oh shit" and had to change plans?

I'd have to get back to you on the favorite mach of the entire season, but the Fatal-Four-Way for the contendership was definitely a wrench in the plans the way it hashed out. Air Man felt like he had the least potential for a compelling angle coming out of that (and that's coming from the guy who lobbied him into the match based on his match history).

On another subject: The Gameshark. How did you get inspired to do those wacky matches, and what was your favorite Gameshark insanity? (The rule 63 match is particularly great.)

The GameShark ideas were another thing we had to dartboard, depending on the match as well as how intrusive it might end up being. That said, I had a fondness for the Big Head/LIttle Head matches, as well as Wrestleblanca.

Not sure if I can say anything specific about Robotnik, but for all that I'm aware, Knuckles isn't losing his gains anytime soon.

Any plans for Layton next season? He is shaping up to become a monster both in ring and outside, no one expected Layton to become such an unsettling individual and I want him to challenge people to deadly puzzles.

There are two moments that come to mind that I won't specify where TOH and I butted heads over a direction. We waited until later in the day for Kryptik to cast the deciding vote. But it wasn't a horrible argument or anything. We don't really step on each other's toes that much, though I'd say results coming off Infinite Summer made for a bit of a tense night.

Ask Bryn.

Is there a match type you plan to do more of next season?

I liked the occasional KO match, each one was pretty fun

I really want to figure out proper Cage Matches. I know they can be made to work, but I'm super sketchy on them because doing one live, if the settings aren't just right, could be disastrous.

Was there any plans or storylines you had for someone in the roster that you just didn't have time to do?

Most of the plots we planned that we didn't do were due to match circumstance. Time management was a little difficult, but the things we didn't have time to set up more properly were repackaged as swerves instead.

We had the idea for Casablanca fairly early on, but I was seriously unsure if it would be received well. It was, and it's my favorite Sharking by a mile.

I think one character above all else deserves a question about them: Goemon. With how much he seems to be constantly either getting looked over or even booed (because he either isn't Ebi, goes over muh favorites or other reasons), plus how a lot of matches with him have gone, it seems like he's just sort of...."there", so to speak. Are there any plans on how to try at least to get this Ganbare Ninja to go somewhere in the works, or is he in danger of getting a send-off soon?

Goemon's fanbase is now people who hate him and people who feel sorry for him. That's shitty.

Otherwise, I can't comment.

My favorite match of the season is Shadow Ball Valley Vs. the Authority. From a booking perspective, though, to name a match where "everything went right", Ezio's triple thread for Co-op Contendership really stood out to me when it happened.

But yeah, the Fatal Fourway for contendership that Air Man won was really unfortunate when it happened. We made it work, and now I love Air Man's personality, but all three other men were better options, at least, in my opinion back then. Seeing how EG turned out, I don't still feel that way.

While some people got a really nice rise to glory (Jensen,Flint,Sonic,Ezio and others) some others kind of falled really, really hard. Zangief is falling since a while and Barret is starting to get A LOT of bad heat. Are you guys gonna try to save them, do you think the problem can be solve by itself just be letting them some ahves matches or are you guys pretty convinced it's the end for both of them?

I should say, most people we want to cut, we put a hit on really early on. You won't know for sure until it happens, but we don't like cutting people completely out of the blue without a proper falling action storyline.

There was a more roundabout method for getting them together that we didn't do due to match circumstances, but putting them together was a personal want of mine because it's Red and Illidan.

Sonic, King Vegeta, and even Haggar were all enough fun to write for that we altered plans slightly to make it more fun. As for plots, I thoroughly enjoyed working on Red and Illidan's stuff, mostly because Red's strongest criticisms have come from his lack of personality. I've always felt that being a silent protagonist is not a flattening character trait and that you can give personality to anyone if you do it right. I feel we finally proved that with Red.

Hi everyone I just woke up.

I always thought the moveset swap matches were great, it let two guys fight totally different in hilarious fashions, where there more wrestler/moveset combos you wish you guys did?

Well, we were kind of in the boat of trying not to repeat any Sharks, so once we did Toad and Ebisumaru's moveset swap, that was kind of it.

It was a spur of the moment decision to later tease Edgeworth and Bison swapping movesets only for it to, again, be Toad and Ebisumaru.

Overall, I don't think swapping movesets changes very much, though.
