Just caught the show, awesome stuff. All of the matches were entertaining and there wasn't much plot fat to trim ata ll. Really excited about the Drac vs. Armstrong feud. Armstrong seems to write himself, the transition was so seamless between Bazza and TOH in his writing. If I had any very small criticism, it's just to warning against making everybody sound 'samey.' I don't know Kanji, Goemon or Ebi's game lore and maybe the way they're being written now is more accurate to their original interpretations, but it's pretty noticeable that they're written by a different person. Obviously that's going to be somewhat unavoidable and it's just something to acclimate to. Bigger criticism though: Where the fuck was the rumble jerk edit: Bryn's a cool dude who does tons of work for other people's enjoyment and there was nothing wrong with the plug. It wasn't an ad, it was a plug! There's a difference! Edited by GirthIgnorer, Jul 22 2015, 10:48 PM.

More sizzle than a rasher of bacon.

Kanji's writer was separate from the Ninjas. Not sure what you're getting at... |

It's a tonal shift, is all, just the syntax of how Bazza wrote them compared to how whoever wrote them now(I knew we had a writing staff, but didn't know people literally wrote different scenes! That is neat.) Like I said, it's just something to acclimate to, but I noticed it the most with those three characters.

That's because the new people writing them has a much better idea of how those characters would act. Bazza just kinda winged it with most characters, TOH seems pretty adamant on getting the characters to actually act like themselves. |

Oh, sure, I even said as much in my original post on the subject. I only pointed it out on the offchance that they weren't. And frankly, if that's the best criticism I can come up with, the show is in pretty great shape. |

Sounds Like A Bodacious Time

Really gotta applaud the booking. We've seen almost everyone either in matches or plot these past two shows and we've had a grand total of one booking overlap (ironically, Heavy is the only guy to have been booked in both of the first two shows.) The variety is really nice and I don't have to potentially wait forever to see muh favorites anymore. |

I also like seeing the main event being used to establish topcard momentum rather then just plot feud. Bowser and Johnny look fantastic right now and can use this to get contender shots down the line. |

Plot main events are cool but I love the format of making main events just a straight match between two highly ranked dudes. |

Order! Order in the court!

I can see the various ways TOH is using the data from the survey we took, or at least what I interpret as him using the survey, and I think it's turning out for the best. Correct me if I'm wrong, edit me if I'm wrong, whatever. Giving exposure and booking between wrestlers who need it, while at the same time, satisfying the top favorites by booking 'em in the main events. It's great and fantastic, keep it up. NOPE.
|
One thing I've liked about the first two shows is how simple yet good the main events have been. Nothing flashy, no big gimmicks to sell it, just two strong guys having a match between each other and one guy ends up winning and looking great by the end of it. It really makes the main event seem like a destination to aspire to, so that you can fight the Phoenixes or the Dukes or the Bowsers of the roster. Those have been cool to see. |
