Yeah, this is great. I took two of my levels down because they really needed this and some nerfs, because they were a bit too hard otherwise (not Kaizo-esque, just really tricky).

I'm still holding out hope, but that will take more programming than just "If mushroom, then fire flower" and "if flag = 1, then start at flag".

Checkpoints will salvage a lot of difficult levels. I don't want to have to reupload some of mine, though. I'd lose the cool comments and drawings they got. :(

Maybe I could just use the spare upload slots I have and add checkpoints to my favorite ones as 2.0 versions.

Everyone who plays this game thinks they're making the best, most fun levels ever. News flash, they're not and it's very likely your levels are terrible.

If your levels aren't getting plays or stars, that's why. Your levels are shit. Only the best, most original ideas make it and everything else just gets played a few times in 100 Mario Challenge, skipped and then eventually deleted by Nintendo.

If you're making levels for yourself or mostly for fun, then sure... do whatever you want. But if you are making and uploading levels that you want other people to play and enjoy, you absolutely must pander to them by:

- Making your levels easy, with only the illusion of real challenge. People tend to skip levels if they fail to complete it within three lives or so
- Have a gimmick of some kind. Hopefully you're the first one to think of it, but the odds are you probably aren't
- Give a decent amount of powerups
- Have a very clear path from the beginning to the end. No mazes, loops or dead ends, people will get frustrated and skip otherwise
- Don't make your levels too long, even with checkpoints

I have a bunch of levels up now that are all doing poorly, and I'm almost considering deleting them all and just starting over (but I might just wait for Nintendo to eventually do it).

Supposedly the update is coming tonight at 8PM EST. I'm interested to see if the Super Gnat Attack unlocks anything (like the original wasn't already hard enough).
