In which I write entirely too many words about CAWs. Format and concept entirely ripped off from Notty's thread. It's been a long season, and with a new show runner coming to take things off Bazza's hand, the talent may as well be on notice that it's time to shake things up. So I'm gonna go through the power ranks with some subjective but hopefully unbiased reviews of their performances last season. I'll be starting with the unranked guys, mostly memorials and the tag exclusives. Five a day or every other day from there. Future Endeavored: Diddy Kong Future Endeavored: Ness In Memorium: Gabe Newell In Memorium: Gray Fox Unranked: Toe Jam and Earl Unranked: The Dragons Next is the bottom five where things just get depressing. |

The problem with Ness was he was never given a chance, he was made more or less tag exclusive and we all saw how well that worked for Diddy, he was given next to no singles matches or a chance to even get over with the fans, he was hated purely for bullshit with PK Chu that most of it wasn't even directly their fault to begin with. Look at Flint, he is in tag but has singles matches and is quite over with people, Ness was never given this chance and was let go way too soon and broke up PK Chu for no legit reason when the tag division is suffering enough as is. |

Neat assessments so far. Looking forward to the evaluation of the bottom five. Man, poor Diddy was usually the better half of his team, but he choked hard in the two times the world had its eyes on him. Between him being part of Season 8's tag division and partially associated with the loss of the Rap, it was doubtful he'd get the sort of sendoff Luigi and Barkley received. Poor Ness really did get blindsided though. I felt that with the titles changing hands and Red on a cool down, the stage was set for Ness to fly solo and see if he could forge his own identity; too bad he didn't get that chance. Ness was the best tag partner you could ask for, but he admittedly was pretty dull in plot. Have the Dragons really had as many matches overall as the Practice? If they drop the titles to Toejam & Earl, a little time out of the limelight would be fitting. Edit: Just checked and the Dragons actually have one more match than The Practice. The Lee brothers really have become superstars with the best of them. Edited by Fireball Spam, Jun 25 2015, 07:51 PM.

I was considering stealing Notty's idea myself, but I got beat to the punch! The Dragons have completed their storyline now, so they'll likely show up far more sparsely when they do drop the belts eventually. Since Season 7, the whole P.R.A.T.S. storyline has been showing their growth in strength and maturity over a really well paced path. It's not as simple as bad wrestler becoming good like TJ&E or heels becoming faces. They started Season 7 as laughable jobber heels, before finding that they really worked well as a team and getting stronger over the course of the season, their defining moments being beating the Disciplinary Committee and their reaching the finals of the Co-op Contenders Tournament despite never having a single PROPER win in their whole career at that point. In Season 8, they established themselves as faces, with Dan going full-on face and The Dragons helping him save Red from the Bullies. They established themselves as a team by taking down the Bullies and winning the feud. In Season 9, they all went their separate ways and focused on their own careers, with Dan becoming the two-time Casual Champion and The Dragons coming so close to winning the belts from PK Chu after all their struggle. Then, finally, we get Season X and the culmination of their growth and teamwork. The Dragons win their first tournament, Dan established himself as a topcard wrestler rather than midcard, and their final plot scene completely cements the relationship that's been clearly growing since Season 7. So yeah, it's like a freaking novel ending for these guys, which was only lessened by Dan not winning the main belt. Now it'll be time for other teams to take the spotlight once The Dragons drop the belts, though that might not happen for some time. |

I really like the dragons, I do, but all this time hunting the tag titles kinda thin for me, plus until recently, there weren't doing anything PRATS related with Dan or just having stupid plot with each other with the bluk and skull music, which is easily the best thing about them, and they haven't been doing that. Do I think they earned those belts? Yes, do I think they will be good champions, yes, I just think they have been overexposed as shit lately, if they lose the belts, I think they should not be involved with the title scene for a while and let them go back to doing PRATS stuff and dumb plot. |

The tag division is actually kinda fucked at the moment and part of the reason why the Dragons have gotten so overexposed, and I'm gonna be touching on that as we get up the ranks. I can count on one hand the amount of active tag teams that can actually consistently win matches: The Dragons, The Practice, and TJ&E post-remake. The Dragons and S&K are the only ones with better than a .5 average. Things really need a shakeup, but that's probably for another thread. |

The tag division has always been a mess. Season 9 revitalized it... by putting the focus on new tag teams. Rather than Saiyans, DK, Ninjas, Safety Valve, or the Gerudo Skies/Game Grumps/WarioWare-dominated past, we have a rotation of Dragons, Toejam and Earl, The Practice, and The Bullies, with special guest appearances by The Mavericks, Sonic & Knuckles, Birds of Prey, and Flint & Barret. There's just not a lot of variation, and due to tag matches being huge resource hogs in the story editor, it's difficult to give tag teams a lot of plot compared to, say, an average of two tag matches a night in WVGCW. Saiyans were notably absent all season due to overexposure and Nappa's case, DK Crew outright died, Ninjas didn't appear because of Ebisu's rumble win, Shadow Blitz admittedly had chances and blew them, WarioWare doesn't remember what winning feels like, and Zangief's plot basically shot Gerudo Skies' return in the foot. The Practice and Toejam & Earl remain hot since they haven't actually won anything and The Practice always seems to put on a show, but if we end up with Practice/Dragons 3... well the performers will make it better than Ninjas/DK or Saiyans/DK, but it's going to get grating. The Dragons have had a really small pool to fight through, mostly due to The Practice euthanizing all of the other competition. I'm sick of them, but I don't think it's their fault, and I think after they drop the belt, we can Gerudo Skies them to OH SHIT IT'S DOUBLE DRAGON DO THEY WANT THE BELTS AGAIN WE FUCKED kinds of appearances. Also I'm still a bit remiss we never saw Diddy in singles. If only because I wanted to see a goofy-ass monkey cartwheeling to the Diddy Kong Racing main theme. |

Diddy with the cartwheel intro with the Diddy Kong Racing theme playing? ...WHY DID YOU FIRE HIM BAZZA!? Y'know what would help the tag team scene? A Random thing picker tournament. We have MORE then enough people on the roster for it so you wouldn't even need to include people already in teams, at the very least odds are we would get at least three cool teams out of it. Also Snake and Jensen forming Fox Valve would not hurt ether. |

But on that same note you can't have too many tag teams or some will just get lost in the shuffle since you tend to only get 1 tag match per show. I think the tag scene right now is at the best it's ever been with 12 decent teams occupying different roles and there's a lot of fresh matchups to still do. The Dragons are also exclusively a tag team so a lot of the 'overexposure' can be contributed to the fact that they dont have singles careers taking them out of the division if they happen to become contenders for the singles titles. Shadow Blitz are stalling because of Sabins accomplishments in singles for instance, and Sabin won't be booked twice in one night for varieties sake. |

I think the best thing for the tag division is to just break it to pieces and unleash the random thing picker. Keep the Practice and the tag exclusive teams, maybe give Shadow Blitz some time to get their act together, and just start throwing things at the wall and see what sticks. Now let's get into the bottom of the barrel, where the only hope lies with the biggest losers. 50: Dr. Wily 49: Waluigi 48: Captain Falcon 47: Sonic the Hedgehog 46: Ezio Auditore da Firenze Well, that's the bottom of the rankings, a lot of jobbers with room to improve. ...And then there's the Birds. Oh boy are there the Birds. |

I'm still totally dissagreeing with anyone saying Wiley needs a buff. It's not like he's on the chopping block, and we NEED people who can lose and not suffer for it, The practice is enough to keep The doctors afloat even if Eggman's the only one picking up singles's wins. Besides. He's like 80. |

It's in-character, but really, so would Red if he lost to the first big move someone hit him with, and that doesn't happen. |

I would love to see the Birds of Prey finally win the big one, but it looks like it will sadly never happen.
