Octodad sure is swell and is not going anywhere any time soon.
The issue is that refers to both his job security and his career!

He's pretty one-note. We don't need him to be another note, but he is and I feel like he's been losing fans quietly. But considering we've never had a 'not an octopus' plot yet, I definitely think he can stick around until at least that's played its course.

I just wanna know what his thing is now that he's not a submission specialist anymore. He always had the fact that he lost in a stupid match condition that he was SUPPOSED to win but always managed to find a way to choke, and now... he shows up in multi-mans and has funny faces!

I smell Octo-push. It smells a little like...octopus? Huh, weird. I must be hungry.

I like Octodad, he's just so happy to be here

I just hope he doesn't have to be Octosad so often though

I really do feel like Octo is similar to Waluigi in a guy that can somehow fluke his way into any victory but can also lose to anybody as well.

I love the WAAHHH But we need more then one of him of the roster, I feel that Waluigi, Octodad and Wily fill this role pretty well in that whenever they show up people are happy to see them, think it would be great if they won, but aren't surprised when they don't.

Gonna disagree about Segata being on the chopping block. The guy was super over during Koopa Toons and everyone loved him. He was just incredibly poorly booked after that and people suddenly wanted him gone.
TOH just needs to give him some plot and more matches. Segata's a really cool wrestler and he shouldn't be dumped.
Same thing with Heavy but I've already elaborated on that. Pls don't fire either of them.

The fact of the matter is with TOH taking over, just about EVERYTHING is going to change VERY quickly. It's highly conceivable for some wrestlers who are over will fall out of favor and current characters people say are having trouble could become massively over in a moments notice.

Until the show starts again and we see how things play out NOBODY is in danger at this very moment.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I thought we were all agreed that that victory was tainted
What the chihuahua said. All I'm saying is we didn't find Duke's win over Ganon any less impressive in the short or long term because it was an I Quit match
In that one Ganon was still fighting like he was Ganon, though.

The problem with Segata is that it seems like his name somehow always comes up for firing. At some point, maybe there's a reason. Intangible, maybe, petty even, but there's a reason. I mean yeah, he's the second greatest Casual champion of all time and he had the Bowser plot, but there's the issue that when there isn't plot for him, his presence seems to grate at some people and he tends to become forgotten. As for Octodad, I'll admit that he's getting a little frayed around the edges. As was mentioned, the one thing he's truly famous for is almost two years old now (I can never get over how we're now able to reckon VGCW happenings in years) and the novelty of him being an inclusion that we never thought we'd see has made way to well-worn familiarity by now. Still, I think he can settle nicely into enhancement talent territory for the foreseeable future.

My main issue with Segata is he looks like a generic fighter in a gi, when I first started watching VGCW and before I knew who he was, I thought he was from Virtual Fighter, hell I would take a character from Virtual Fighter over Segeta, I would even take Mugen's Kung Fu Man over Segeta. The guy does nothing for me in the slightest, to me, he kinda feel like he is VGCW's Chuck Norris, an overhyped fighter who is just...decent in the long run.

We continue the journey through the midcard with a few wrestlers who have been quite notable this season. And Goemon.

30: Dracula

29: Little Mac

28: Miles Edgeworth

27: Goemon

26: Bowser

The midcard continues to be full of mixed bags.

Maybe if we give a guy plot who's never had it, and book him more, he'll get more popular?

...nah.

MAY IS ̶B̶A̶E̶ HEEL!
Goemon is probably the most polarising wrestler we have right now and has been brought up a lot this pre season. On one hand you have an extremely loud set of fans wanting him to be pushed and given a chance because his ring work is pretty solid and has a unique look. On the other hand you have an extremely loud set of fans wanting him to be set on fire because he is weird generic japanese anime from a niche series about 10 people have played.

The thing with obscure video game characters in VGCW is that they can get over or find their place in a wrestling promotion by doing something unique with the character. The best example I can think of in the current roster is Zubaz (who isn't really obscure but a lot of people didn't know who he was) who got over by being in good plot (although it was pretty much his canon Best Friends character that shined in that plot).

What I'm saying is that if you can't get the Ninjas over by showcasing their character traits from their games, then give them unique characters in VGCW. I liked Goemon back in season 6 when my experience of him was 'That weird looking guy who beats my favourites' because he was kind of a natural heel like Sonic was. Since then he's been the straight man to Ebisu's strangeness but even that hasn't been showcased that much.

On top of that, have people been asking for a Goemon push? I thought people just wanted him to be booked more. As it is now he works as a midcarder who puts on good matches and entertains in the ring, we need someone to fulfil that role, why not Goemon? Seeing him up against people like Dan, Bison, Break Man, Red etc. would be fine for him for a while

Goemon came painfully close to outright breaking into the main event with a series of impressive victories, most notably in the dark six-man where he and Snake fought for a solid while in the final two. Then he went up against Phoenix Wright, who was still in the middle of his white hot streak, and it was like...he just kind of stopped being a thing when he lost the one match.

It was very Ziggler-esque.
