Details and prototypes are starting to get passed around. Here's some footage, narrated en gratis (I think) by none other than BEOWULF.

Metroidvania platforming is straightforward. You platform, stuff you find lets you do more platforming. The combat however is something else.

Press button = Attack
Press button when enemy is attacking = Block

When it's just one character, it doesn't get any more complex than that. Your character gets a timer bar that fills up and when it's full, they get to attack once. As they progress, this bar gains more pips, allowing for consecutive attacks, as well as a meter for straight up Super Moves, doing different things depending on the amount consumed.
However, when a party starts getting in on it, that's when it reaches its stride. Each character has different supers and attack properties and you must control them each with their own button. Using their attacks one after the other allows you to combo them together, but you must keep an eye on the trajectory and properties of these attacks and how they effect you, your meters, and your opponent.

There's a site up, so...

As for the campaign's asking price, the deal they struck with its upcoming publisher will provide them with $2'000'000 IF the campaign can first make at least $1'500'000. And that is where things are going to start getting icky with potential supporters. The game, as they say, will straight up not happen if this money doesn't come through, and that's they risk they wanted to take.

"Thank you" days left for the crowdfunding, huh?

Just discovered this thing today, it does look nice. Sadly, it's two decades too late to be a legend. If those devs were around before, maybe it'd be a great game... Now it'll just be that one game that looks like a great game. That's a shame.
(I'm ranting a little bit but.. yeah this can apply to any form of art. Great works are no longer possible in 2015.)

All that video does is make me want to play Valkyrie Profile again, not pay for some lesser version of it.

The studio's cool and all but I'm sure that I don't want this game that bad.

EDIT: Crowdfunding begins today. The Indiegogo page is pretty meaty and has some details about the game that weren't on the site, but this is it, the journey begins here.

But if they reach 900k in the next few days, they can get a 20 day extension.

Some updates on their, uh, updates during the kickstarter.

Guest characters.
Annie from Skullgirls
Calibretto from Battle Chasers
The Drifter from Hyper Light Drifter
Juan from Guacamelee
Lea from Curses N' Chaos
Shovel Knight from Shovel Knight
Zackasaurus from Super Time Force Ultra

The PS4 version of the prototype is available for download. As of right now, it should be available on both NA and EU stores.

They've been rolling out those character designs, as you might expect. The universe of Indivisible doesn't justify designs as wild and out there as Skullgirls gets, but some come pretty close. My favourite is this large warrior woman, Phoebe.

Getting the extension requires an extra 8% of the goal from where we're at as I'm writing this ($776k, meaning the difference is about $130k) and would supposedly have to be in before 3 days before the campaign ends.

I donated and all. Thing I'm confused about is that they have the Skullgirls audience who will pay X amount for characters. Why take a risk like an entire different genre when you have a good portion of the fighting game community with you?

Because they want to do something other than fighting games after working on one for so long? People can have multiple creative interests.

They don't want to do another fighting game, they want to do this.

Lab Zero are an indie studio, they can do that.

EDIT: Yo we got that 900k. If they want their extension they can get it.

EDIT MUCH MUCH LATER BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO START SOMETHING: A real slog got hit real hard after the $1mil mark. It looked like we were going to match the exact pace we needed day-by-day for funding but now we're barely getting anything. We're running dry on people who want to back this that haven't already and unless we can muster a last-stretch rush worth $400'000 I think I would call this as good as over.

And yep, deadline's been extended another 20 days. I think we should be in the clear, just hope donations don't get too complacent now.

Wow, seems like the growth rate dropped off again. It might take another last-minute surge. Will that happen twice?

The game looks like it has some neat ideas, but the execution of them (or at least in revealing them) could have been done much better. Adding action shot sketches alongside each character reveal would have helped to better showcase them and how they'd fight, especially since the designs themselves are technically in a pre-alpha state right now. Another thing that could have been done was pairing the character descriptions with the images, thus making it easier to spread info of both online. Also, what do we really know of the setting for this game? Are there any concept art pieces of the locales and such? It's hard to imagine how everything fits together, or even what the general time period is overall, and still tie it into Hindu themes.
