Ugh.
The last thing he did was apologizing for a lackluster E3.
Fuck.

I don't think so. He did something more important, which is meditate and inform on the process of developing video games.

Dated June 25, probably his last press/promotional photograph:

Until recently I never realized that so many of my most beloved video games owed so much of their existence to Iwata. He was also a miracle worker at programming and truly loved games, being one of the best presidents possible after Yamauchi. I loved the Nintendo Directs as well, and the Nintendo Treehouse last year was one of the best E3s in a long time.

RIP Mr. Iwata. Thank you for everything you've done for us as a programmer, a president, an executive producer, and overall. I hope you have a worthy successor and Nintendo carries on in a way you can be proud of. You will be missed. Thanks again.

I played The Game and got stuck with Dunn for a month.
This man was a miracle worker, and the best programmer/coder Nintendo ever had. Pokemon Stadium's battle code being done in a single week, and Gold/Silver being so debugged and compacted that we got two regions for it for one.

But his biggest accomplishment in my eyes, is the time he rewrote the entirety of Earthbound's coding, ALL OF IT, for the SNES. All on his own, and without even having any of the original code to work with. Without Iwata, VGCW superstar Ness, and EDBW superstar Lucas would have never existed. And for that, it is a true reason to remember him as a good man who was also an amazing programmer.

MAY IS ̶B̶A̶E̶ HEEL!
I think pretty much all of us have had some affiliation with Nintendo over the years and a lot of us would have played the games he was involved in. I'll let his characters and fellow Nintendo stars do the honours.
