MAY IS ̶B̶A̶E̶ HEEL!

I am a very concerned about the decision to make the Ganondorf/Wily title unification triple crown decider match on a regular episode and NOT a headline match at VGCW's final ever End Game. If I look at this as a casual viewer, it's a match-up between 2 VERY iconic and recognizable characters and this would draw my attention even if I had fallen off the product. You put this match-up on a poster, it WILL draw some of the lost casuals back. If I look at this as a regular viewer, it's a title unification match starring Ganondorf, a 4-time champion with an unrivaled aura who is arguably VGCW's GOAT, and Wily, easily the biggest success story in the TOH-era who stands one match away from equaling a title defense record. It's THE match to keep me watching VGCW until it ends. This is the biggest match VGCW will have due to it ending, and I can not see any theoretical matches involving Armstrong's "find the strongest" narrative to be worth sacrificing a triple crown title unification matchup between two of the best guys in VGCW for. Wily is on a 10 match winning streak and Ganondorf is a 4-time champion. The strongest is one of these two. |

I just look at it as an opportunity for some other people to get one final shot at a title. I was never really hot on the idea of essentially eliminating the midcard belt and I'm not exactly fond of either them as champions (though I do think they are entirely deserving of their championships). Further elaboration: I don't want guys like Ezio and Layton not getting some kind of reward for how they've been doing so far and extending Ganondorf/Wily's title feud for another 5 or so episodes is ehh... NOPE.

Ganondorf/Wily for both titles, the Triple Crown, and probably the distinction as the greatest VGCW wrestler ever is the biggest match that you could ever have and deserves to be put in the main event of End Game rather than being on a regular episode. Some mild hot streaks from guys like Layton and Ezio flat out do not compare to what Ganon and Wily have done. If the expectation is that now is the time where you just do all the fantasy matches you can possibly do, then this is the ultimate fantasy match and if that means any other sort of minor momentum is disregarded in the process that's just gonna have to be a consequence of it. This is THE money match. Please reconsider not having it be at a big event like it deserves to be at. |

I'd just like to say that I, too, think that Wily/Ganon should be at Endgame. It's a first-time-ever last-time-ever THE match of VGCW and it serves as the perfect punctuation for the show. It just feels like nothing else could match it; the big Game Genie storyline will be at Endgame regardless, why not pair it with the biggest title match of all time? |

As I said in the Triple Crown thread, this isn't a decision that came easy to me. But when I had to make a call, it came down to thinking that this is my last shot to do everything I still wanted to do. There's still one crazy idea of mine left that I think would be really fun, fit what the season's been about, and the only time I can try to do this is this season, because it doesn't work with the season 14 idea. Would Ganon/Wily be a bigger title match than what might actually happen? It very well could be. But this season is basically a bucket list for me, and I'd hate to leave things not crossed off before all's said and done, and this thing I want to do is one of the bigger ones. I don't expect everyone to like it as much, but I hope people have fun with it regardless. |

As someone whose focal point of enjoyment this season has been Ganondorf's title reign, I'd kinda suggest moving that match to End Game just from the standpoint of history and viewership. I'd consider maybe reformatting or repurposing your crazy idea, but that's easy for me to say without knowing what it is because I don't know how malleable it is or what it is in general. Not to disparage the idea (I don't know what it is so I can't quite evaluate it), but you've been handed a pretty great opportunity here. Regardless of the decision, I hope it goes well. |

I don't really have a way to re-purpose this thing. And I know the opportunity that's here, but I want to fit everything I can into this season as possible. If I throw this out, it's going to leave episodes 11-13 without very much on the line. Part of what I've enjoyed this season is just trying to make every show matter. The other part is that I had to plan some things ahead out of necessity. Balancing this and other stuff in my life (work, friends, rest time) is proving difficult, so planning ahead helps me keep that balance. I'm already looking to get most of the next episode done by Tuesday before I go to PAX, and I'm only able to do this because I booked ahead of time. Rewrites would force me to delay the show, something I'm not willing to do. |

I'll say as someone who considers themself a somewhat casual regular viewer I'm actually all for having the match sooner rather than later. I guess it comes down to with vgcw ending so soon I care more about getting as much possible out of the time that's left than the actual note it ends on, but that's obviously a matter of personal taste. Dudebro mentioned a similar thing about trying to have more frequent title matches in the final season of edbw. |

Remember last year when we were excited for this?
|
I personally think that having the match sooner is fine. TOH should be able to flex his creativity in whatever way he chooses, and I trust him to put together a big show for End Game. Every show in the back half of the season so far has been huge, and I see no reason to stop now. Also if one of the reasons we want to make this match big for End Game is to bring back the viewers? Why should we wait to do that? It makes far more sense to lure in viewers sooner rather than to wait for the last show. Let's start putting up posters for this title match now, beat the drum a little, and let the lapsed fans see more than just one show. |

I disagree with TOH here, this is one of the biggest matches that VGCW can have and it feels adequate to end the show in the last End game ever. Throwing it in a regular show feels like a waste, at least for now that we don't know what the "idea" is. |
