OBJECTION!

''This time, the game is set outside Japan. Naruhodo has come to the unnamed country for a reason, but luck has it he gets involved with another case. The people in this country seem to belief in the spirits of the dead. In their courtrooms, there's a big Water Mirror (mizukagami) set in the floor. On the upper 3DS screen, we see images and words floating in the water, while in the lower screen we see what appears to be part of a testimony and the option to present something.

The boy is called Bokto Tsuani (bokuto tsuaani -> Boku to Tour ni -> On a Tour With Me) and he is a monk-in-training, who works as a tour guide to make some money. Once he starts his tour-guide-talk, he can't be stopped.

There's also a screenshot of a mysterious girl. According to the text, she is not a prosecutor, witness, nor the judge.''

Trailer is gonna come out at TGS and the English localization was already confirmed.

I guess this means The Great Ace Attorney is never gonna be localized, fucking Capcom.

Well most likely this means we won't get it here in the states for another year or five, and it'll be digital download only

Why is digital download only for a niche title a shit idea again?

It could be worse. Could be a Dragon Quest game.

Since it's digital only we'll get a faster translation time like with AA5 which was only three months. And the translations are always exceptional. Also AA5 was cheaper than retail on the eshop, so in many ways it's better having it digital only. Less expectations and all that shite.

So fucking excited, bit bummed about The Great Ace Attorney but it's setting and time period kind of doomed it from the start.

And yeah what Justin said. Could have fuck all for 5 years and the only thing you get is a fucking Dynasty Warriors spin off.

Honestly now that the excitement for the announcement has passed I'm not too thrilled about the game's premise.
It sounds pretty terrible honestly, I thought AA6 was gonna be about Apollo's past and tying up all the loose ends introduced in the fourth game and instead we're getting this weird shit.
I'm much more interested in The Great Ace Attorney, it's a breath of fresh air to the series.

Forever Miku's loyal fan.
I just hope that with this new game, we'll be seeing at least a few returning faces like we did in Dual Destinies.

Well the localization of DQ hasn't been all that bad. We've gotten every major entry to the series except the MMO one and I was surprised we are getting DQ:Heroes (Which looks super fun). So I'm not sure that comparison is accurate.

There's seven games on the 3DS that either didn't get localized or probably aren't going to be, one of which is the newest mainline game. When almost every RPG these days gets localized I'd say that's a pretty bad situation for one of the biggest series of the genre.

But this is the Phoenix Wright thread, maybe I'll make one for Dragon Quest if anyone's interested.

That really isn't an issue.
Only the first case is set in Japan, the rest of the game is in victorian London. Besides they can keep the Japanese setting with the very simple explanation that the Wright family originated in Japan and then later migrated to America.
Nah the real issue here is just Capcom being Capcom, as always.

They do it to Monster Hunter as well. So it isn't the first time.

I'm going to do a little cross examination of Crapcom's tweets. I'm not going to let my degree in French, Spanish and Portuguese go to waste!

@capcom_france

Malheureusement le titre n'est pas prévu pour sorti en Occident.
Now, I'm not a native speaker, but I wouldn't translate "prévu" as "intended", rather "foreseen" or "expected". So this tweet becomes "Sadly, the title is not expected to be released in the West. The meaning is a little different, but I'm not sure it's a contradiction at this stage.

@capcom_france

Il n'y a actuellement aucune information de ce titre pour l'Occident. Nous nous concentrons sur l'arrivée de AA6.
tr: "There is currently no information about this title for the West. We're concentrating on the arrival of AA6."
This is a bad sign. Given that they have been given information about AA6 almost immediately and nothing on DGS, our hopes of getting DGS are looking slim.

@capcom_france

Bonjour, nous ne savons pas si le jeu sortira en Occident.
tr: "Hello, we don't know whether the game will come out in the West."
The way I interpret this, it seems Capcom France simply hasn't been told anything. It doesn't bode well, but it's not a flat-out refusal to release the game.

Verdict: While the possibility of DGS being released after AA6 hasn't been ruled out, it looks more and more likely that DGS is going the way of AAI2. So, this was an exercise in futility. Bollocks.

@capcom_france

#désolé
tr: #sorry
Me too, Crapcom.
