Welcome back. Five months ago, we ended Bazza's era, and with the new showrunner unknown, I wrote out my evaluations of how everyone had done, heading into the new era. And once again, we're at the end of a season, off the wild ride that was Endgame X1. Just like last time, I'll be doing five or so every other day, going right up the power rankings, to see who's thrived in the new environment, and who's.. ho boy. I'll try to stay unbiased, but no promises. Okay, maybe longer than every other day because no one's updating the wiki anymore.
Season 10 Thread
I'll start with a few words about the four we've lost this season and our unranked Tag Champs.
Retired: Little Mac
Ended Last Season: Rank 29, possibly retired.
In-Ring: Nothing
In-Plot: Actually retired.
Mac... he still deserved a better in-ring send off, but, in the end, Mac finally went out on his own terms. In Little Mac, we lost an icon of the company, a reliable glove in the ring, and a guy always willing to put over the new talent. So his transition to EDBW's head trainer makes sense, and makes me glad that we won't be losing him forever. One day, Mac might still come back, the next big VGCW superstar at his side. And then they'll beat the shit out of Zangief together. Wouldn't that be graaaaaand...?
Trending: Flatlined
Retired: Wario
Ended Last Season: Rank 38
In-Ring: Lost to the Saiyans, lost to Zangief, lost to Sonic, beat the Practice
In-Plot: Got rich via gameshark and went home.
Remember all that momentum Wario built up in season 10? How I was predicting it would carry him far this season? What happened to it? Oh. Right. Zangief. In one match, Zangief managed to destroy all of Wario's fragile momentum. A follow up loss to Sonic didn't help things, but it seems Wario's goose was already cooked. At least he got to go out with his first tag win in years on his record. And you know what? A graceful exit like that is a lot better than ending up back on the bottom with Waluigi outshining him forever.
Trending: Flatlined
Fighting Forever: Segata Sanshiro
Ended Last Season: Rank 36
In-Ring: Lost to Layton, Beat Toad, Lost to Arino, Lost to Dante in a rule 63 match, beat Glitch DK
In-Plot: Teamed up with Octodad to stop the Gameshark
You know, I predicted that Segata would be out the door this season. What I didn't predict is how much he'd turn his career around and then go out like a goddamned hero. Instead of following up a lackluster season 10 with fading away, he went pure puro in the ring, became a beloved face in plot, and elevated Octodad into the role of hero. Oh, and you know, he won a match he was set up to lose by kicking out of a legit glitch bomb from the BIG MONKEY. Ganbatte, Segata. Keep fighting that monstrous shark for as long as it takes.
Trending: Flatlined
Left Behind: Donkey Kong Ended Last Season: Rank 7 In-Ring: Beat Dan, Lost to Kanji, Lost to Knuckles, Lost to retro Segata In-Plot: Possessed by the Gameshark I guess DK knew he was retiring, as the Big Monkey spent most of his season putting people over. (After beating the shit out of Dan.) I'm going to miss DK. He was always a big player in VGCW, a 2 time VGCW Champion **, a cancer survivor, and a monster with one of the most brutal finishers in the league. Too bad he never got revenge on the world's worst friend, Scorpion. And perhaps this isn't the end, as you never know when he might catch a barrel plane back to VGCW and drop in to expand some dongs. And ya' know what. One last dkface.jpg for the road. Trending: Flatlined
Unranked: The Dragons
Ended Last Season: Unranked Tag Champs
In-Ring: Defended against Toejam and Earl, Birds of Prey, Salvation Ops
In-Plot: Championship banter
You know, for the tag champs, there's not much to say about them. Their matches this season were plagued with 2kwality and them reversing just about everything. And then they took half a season off, came back, and laughed their asses off while Jensen and Snake utterly shit their AIs. They've beaten literally everyone. They have nothing left to prove. The only question now is if they'll ever put anyone over. An answer that is looking more and more like a no.

Always enjoy reading these. This season has had even more swings than usual with the change from Bazza to TOH, so a recap will be real interesting.

Welcome to undercard hell, where you'll find most of the usual suspects.
56: Captain Falcon
Ended Last Season: Rank 48
In-Ring: Didn't win a 6-man ladder match, Beat Flint and Barret, Lost to Phoenix, Lost a Co-op Title Match to the Dragons
In-Plot: Supported Ezio.
As someone who is really not fond of Falcon lately it's taking a lot to not just break out in laughter instead of doing a write-up. But this has been an absolutely terrible season for a wrestler that could not afford a terrible season. He debuted his new CAW in a 6-man ladder match, which is really no way to actually show off his moves. And then he got the pin in a tag match! ...Where Ezio did all the work. A win which carried the Birds of Prey to a tag team title match.. that Ezio won the contender's match solo. And got all the championship plot. Meanwhile, Falcon was botching the biggest potential upset of his career and breaking Vegeta's losing streak. You know, the one that's stood since season 1? Jesus christ, Falcon.
And then the Birds got to the Dragons. And of course, it was kind of a massacre, as all Dragons title matches seem to be. And then Falcon vanished for half a season and was never seen again.
If this whole Blood Falcon thing doesn't work out, then I really don't know what's left, because Falcon has been a running joke for several seasons, and has shown little-to-no signs of improvement despite all the attention given to him. He's got to be at the top of his game, or this race is finally over.
Trending: Down
55: Kefka Palazzo
Ended Last Season: Rank 37
In-Ring: Won a triple threat cage match, Beat the Demoman, Eliminated first in a Casual Contender's match, Lost round 1 of King of the Beach to Bowser, put through a flaming table by Goemon
In-Plot: Kefka's Korner
For a while, it seemed that Kefka had gotten his groove back, and was looking towards a rematch with Groose to get his title back. And then he got murdered by Sonic and spent the rest of the season jobbing and actively trolling the audience. It's been a fairly brutal fall in the rankings for the Klown Prince, but he's never lost his smile.
But as long as VGCW needs an interviewer, Kefka will be here to fill the role with his typical style. In plot at least, Kefka's indespensible. In the ring, well... he's still a wildcard. No one really expects him to win, but it's a pleasant surprise.
Trending: Whatever.
54: Doctor Albert Wily
Ended Last Season: Rank 50
In-Ring: Lost to Raijin, Lost to the Mavericks, Won a Fatal Four-Way Steel Cage Match, Lost to the Saiyans, Lost to Warioware, Beat Vyse
In-Plot: One day feud with the Mavericks
Holy shit you guys Wily won a singles match. WILY WON A SINGLES MATCH. Which is a really good thing as the Practice is having one of their worst seasons ever. Wily and Robotnik don't seem to have the practiced teamwork that Wily and Eggman had. But it doesn't matter, as Wily is now at 200% swag, can actually take a finisher without dying, and HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS HE WON TWO MATCHES IN THE SAME SEASON.
Trending: Up
53: Ebisumaru
Ended Last Season: Rank 18
In-Ring: Didn't win a tables match, Lost to Senator Armstrong, Lost to Flint and Barret, Lost to Toad, Eliminated first in a triple threat, Eliminated third in a six-man match.
In-Plot: Became Vegeta's jester.
One of the bigger power rankings collapses this season comes to Ebisu, as he continued his two season long losing streak, which ended with getting a Lousy Elbow from Waluigi. Ouch. The Ninjas are pretty much on hiatus for the sake of Goemon's career, and it's not like they were any good together anyways. He made his joke character status official at the end of the season by becoming court jester. I shouldn't bring up roster cuts, but Ebisu's got to be at the top of the list, as he's a one note joke character with no success in the ring lately.
Trending: Down
52: Tavish "Demoman" Degroot
Ended Last Season: In EDBW
In-Ring: Lost to Kefka, Lost to Octodad, Eliminated second in a triple threat, lost to the Fuckheads
In-Plot: Saying hi to Heavy and Edgeworth
The most anticipated call-up from EDBW finally arrived, with Guybrush and Vyse in tow. And... ...ho boy, the Rogues have NOT had a good debut season at all. Demoman's no exception, the lowest of the stable on the power rankings, and he ends the season winless. Unfortunately for Mister Five Stars, his losses weren't exactly flattering, as Kefka and Octodad aren't exactly names you should be losing to. On the other hand, they were at least flukey match types, and his triple threat match was a pretty close loss to Layton.
But hey, at least he's finally in VGCW, so despite a terrible season, he'll have plenty of chances to fix his career up.

Falcon had a shitty season but it's lame to say he hasn't improved when in the one singles match he got this season he was a move away from beating Phoenix of all people. I disagree that he needed to go away for his own good, since that to me is enough evidence he could have beaten other people. And if he comes back and loses during this plot it's no different really.

The amount of bias between the Falcon write-up and the Wily write-up is really apparent. I know that this is supposed to be a character evaluation, but it more so feels like a VGCW roster opinion thread. Which is fine, but the title of the thread and the WVGCW Character Evaluation threads show what things should be. One thing I do like in the WVGCW Character Evaluations thread is how Notty posts some optimism or how well someone attempted to be in their loss if they're in the lowcard.
Could you tone down the bias if you can? It's making it hard to really take this thread seriously as an evaluation thread and not just "haha this person sucks but this other person's really good!".

Okay, I get that people are really defensive of Falcon, but I'm not going to sugarcoat the fact that he's had a really bad first half of the season, and then vanished for half a season. ...And he's had a bad season 10. And a bad season 9. And a bad season 8.
The reason for the difference in tones between Wily and Falcon is simple. One got a revamp, pushed himself, and has actually won matches and looked better than he's been since LAST GAME, while breaking his own poor streak. Hell, people are seriously considering Wily for a casual title shot if he can get another good win. Did anyone think that would ever happen? The other got a caw revamp, came up short, and broke an entirely different streak at the same time, while his partner, who was also well known for doing poorly has turned his career around entirely in one season and has established himself firmly in the upper midcard.
I will admit, that new Falcon has potential, and yes, there is no shame in losing to Phoenix. But his record is just one choke after another, and the fact that he vanished for half a season instead of fighting to restore his reputation for fear that the fans might turn on him just doesn't leave anything to be optimistic about.
EDIT: As Cran said, enhancement talent is a necessary thing, but I'm just not sure Falcon can survive as enhancement talent unlike the rest of the people in the lower card, like say, Kefka or Zubaz.

For me, it's not even so much as being defensive about a character but more so the shift in writing.
I get that you flat out don't like the guy and don't want to remain optimistic about someone because it's been proven that the guy hasn't won enough to "keep his spot", but there's some sort of unwritten rule of keeping levelheaded about people when it comes to evaluating them. Like, bringing up that someone's not doing well in their career now is fine with a subtle mention to their performance. But saying "Oh Ebisu's not doing well and if I was talking roster cuts, he'd be high up there" is pretty bad. Saying something like "Ebisumaru's not what he used to be and needs to kick things into high gear." is better because it implicates that yeah this person's not doing well, but he could try to be as good as before.
I dunno, this is just my opinion so whatever. Much like how this thread is just your opinion.

Thoughts:
Falcon - Falcon hasn't had a good past 3-4 seasons. That much is clear. I hope this new-found character (and assumed buff) will be a good thing for him, but he NEEDS to follow Kefka's advice and win the matches.
Kefka - Boy, you didn't have a lot of luck in the ring the latter half of the season, eh? However, you are entertaining as hell enhancement talent, and the best ringside reporter in the business. Keep it up Kefka, but, like Falcon, win the matches.
Wily - YOU WON A SINGLES MATCH! Good for you! You also had success in gimmick matches, and aren't as fragile as before. Keep this up Wily for the World Tour
Ebisumaru - Boy, you have not had the best 2 seasons, have you? You're losing fan support, and you lost all your matches in season 11. Need to start winning the matches for people to care about you, and maybe be a little less joke-y. Oh yeah, and avoid Goemon.
Demoman - Oh boy. The transition from Extreme Dudebro Wrestling to Video Game Championship Wrestling wasn't good for you to say the least. Upsides is that they were gimmick matches, and you have a TON of fan support. Essentially, win the matches, Travis.
Kind of a common recurring theme throughout this bunch, in that they need to start winning (with the exception of Wily, do your thing).
