First episode of VGCW Season 12 will air at January 26th, so here's more character evaluations! Where will these wrestlers head in the new season?
It would be nice if you guys talk about them.
34: Chief Arino Record: 3-3 (Total), 3-3 (Singles)
Matches: Edgeworth (Win), Vegeta (Loss), Segata Sanshiro (Win), Two Zangiefs (Loss), Reyn (Win), Duke Nukem (Loss)
After losing his Casual Championship, Arino focused on singles match with decent result. His highlight in this season comes from the GameCenter plot, where he showcases old school games with guest characters like Tony Hawk, Mama, and the Nerd. With departure of Segata Sanshiro, he is the only character based on real person now.
Before the reveal of Gameshark, its presence was hinted in Arino's promo, where it glitched the arcade machine. Later, Gameshark temporarily created clone of Arino along with Zangief, turning regular singles match into tornado tag team.
33: Ezio Record: 4-3 (Total), 2-1 (Singles)
Matches: Toad (Win), Flint & Barret (Win), Dante, Nappa (Win) The Dragons (Loss), Guile (Win), Knuckles, Barret, Air Man (Loss), Layton (Loss)
After arriving to the beach, Ezio regained his womanizing persona and started to talk about grabass. True to his words, he groped Toad's ass in his first match. Ezio rode on a high momentum, beating both Nappa and Dante in #1 Contenders match. However, at Infinite Summer, The Dragons would beat Ezio and Captain Falcon, who is later put on sabbatical. Ezio was later in #1 Contenders match for main event at End Game X-1, but pinned by Barret with two punches and a shove.
Ezio wasn't affected by Gameshark much. However, he did have Guile's hair for a match.
32: Octodad Record: 2-3 (Total), 2-2 (Singles)
Matches: Barret Wallace (Loss) Illidan, Sonic & Waluigi (Loss), Demoman (Win), Guile (Loss), Break Man (Win)
Octodad seemed to be comfortable around the ocean. When Gameshark appeared, Segata Sanshiro approached him and asked him to search for Gameshark with no avail. However, his moment came at End Game. When Break Man "absorbed" Gameshark's power and attempted to take over the world, Octodad came to stop him while Segata faced glitched Donkey Kong in the '13 universe. Octodad is the one to send farewell to Segata Sanshiro, and will remember him in his heart.
Octodad gained a new, red suit through Gameshark and wore it throughout the Season. He later changed his suit to regular one at the End Game.
31-30: Billy & Jimmy Record (Billy): 3-2 (Total), 0-1 (Singles)
Matches (Billy): Earl (Loss), Toejam & Earl (Win), Birds of Prey (Win), Kanji, Sonic & Dracula (Loss), Salvation Ops (Win)
Record (Jimmy): 3-1 (Total), 0-1 (Singles)
Matches (Jimmy): Toejam (Loss), Toejam & Earl (Win), Birds of Prey (Win), Salvation Ops (Win)
Three consecutive defenses in a single season is quite an impressive feat. Although both of the dragons lost to up and coming Toejam and Earl in singles, the duo managed to retain the belts in a tag team match. They had confrontation with womanizing Ezio over Fujin, and beat them at Endless Summer. At End Game X-1, the Dragons showed that they are not slacking off by beating Salvation Ops.
From Season 10 to 11, the Dragons are undefeated in tag match with score of 10-0. Which team will be the one to beat them for the title?
29: Guile Record: 2-3 (Total), 2-3 (Singles)
Matches: Solid Snake (Loss), Edgeworth (Win), Ezio (Loss), Octodad (Win), Mike Haggar (Loss)
Here's ex-champion who lost the title at End Game X. He lost to Snake with Super DDT, went through table with Flip Bottom, beat Edgeworth with diplomatic immunity, etc. Guile wasn't seen often backstage for most of the season, though he mocked glitched Donkey Kong once.
When Guile least suspected it, he was ambushed by Mike Haggar, who regained his memories and remembered the Ring Rangers attacking him in Season 7. At End Game X-1, Guile tried to recruit the old Ring Rangers to get one on Haggar. However, everyone, including retired Mr. Satan, rejected him. Gameshark ridiculed him by changing his outfit to Black Ranger, and he said the word "I Quit" after furious Haggar delivered the giant swing, ending the nearly 2-year long saga. (Feb 2014 - Dec 2015)

No-one benefited more from the transition from Bazza to TOH than Ezio. Guy totally got a new lease on life and it was fantastic.

Arino is awesome. It looked like he might get a chance for the Triple Crown at the start of the season, he'd probably only need to win another match or two to get a shot, but it was not to be. For now he remains as a solid midcarder. You never know, only takes 3 or so wins in a row before he is maybe seen as worthy for a shot.
Ezio is somebody I never liked but he did really well this season so good on him. He ended the season losing though so maybe the natural order is being restored. Next season will be interesting for him.
Octodad had nowhere to go but up, really. He got plot importance this season but next season he'll be back to being funny guy who dances. Win the matches, Octodad.
I like The Dragons even though most people don't. There's nobody cool enough to take the titles from them yet. Shadow Ball Valley seems like the team for the job if you ask me.
Guile is somebody I love to hate so its a bit of a shame that he did so poorly this season. Oh well, a run in the midcard for a while won't hurt him. He can always piss us off by going for the tag titles too.

The Dragons need to do more things. It feels like going into every title match the build is focused heavily on the challengers, whereas The Dragons are just kinda... there. They need an actual presence. They're certainly not bad in plot, and putting all the focus on the challengers up to this point hasn't even paid off anyway.

Did Automaton hand Mosaique the reins, or is this a separate evaluation in the mean time? Regardless, the assessments are good, though not quite as in-depth as Automation's are. These are a bit dry and more of a W/L summary of the season, and I think they'd benefit from having the "in-ring", "in-plot", and "trending" features.
Arino had charming plot segments and two excellent matches against Edgeworth and Segata, and Ezio was on fire in his matches and plots. It's a shame that the Birds didn't get the Co-op Titles and Auditore was felled by the Punch-Punch-Shove in the VGCW contender match, but overall he's had a great season. Grabass and grabbing the brass ring couldn't have come at a better time and it's definitely made people fall in love with the assassin all over again. Octodad was really likable in plot and I loved how his burbles gradually became more and more detailed throughout the season, giving him a voice that still stuck to his unique and humorous roots. Game Face vs. Glitch Man was such a fantastic moment at End Game too, and one of the best surprise matches we've ever had.
The Dragons kind of stepped back in plot to let the other teams grow and we did get some great plots and moments because of it. Unfortunately for those teams, the AI was not kind in the title matches and The Dragons were still great. I enjoy the Lee brothers and think that them having a strong, good reign has worked out well considering the time it took for them to finally become champs and all the hype behind them. That said, it was kind of unfortunate that the most hype, new, and freshly invigorated teams wound up being their three opponents and losing this season. Finally, Guile's kept his dickery up nicely and I think he still serves a good role, and I really liked his bitter and foolhardy attempt to reorganize the Ring Rangers at End Game. It was also neat that his open challenge of sorts, issued way back in Season 8 while talking to Vegeta, was finally answered by Mike Haggar. Having that chapter wrapped up might be just what Guile needs to go in a new direction for the future.

I like The Dragons even though most people don't. There's nobody cool enough to take the titles from them yet. Shadow Ball Valley seems like the team for the job if you ask me. It's gotta be The Fuckheads. SBV are probably capable of beating The Dragons, but Red winning the tag titles a second time would just seem like him spinning his wheels.

Three EDBW graduates, a ninja, and a lawyer!
28: Reyn Record: 2-1 (Total), 1-1 (Singles)
Matches: Zubaz (Win), Chief Arino (Loss), 6-Man Battle Royale (Win)
Here's a EDBW callup that came out of nowhere! There's not much to say. He beat Zubaz (who interrupted Waluigi's emotional promo) and lost to Arino in King of the Ring tournament.
In Gabe Newell Memorial Battle Royale, Reyn was about to lose to Raijin when he hit his big move. However, Waluigi picked him up and removed pin opportunity, even though it's a elimination match and has no benefit to him! Few seconds later, Raijin pinned Waluigi, and Reyn used this to his advantage and pin Raijin with his finisher. Future will tell if the two interact.
Due to gameshark's effect, Reyn wore Gabe's beanie in that match. In retrospect, it made sense that he won.
27: Goemon Record: 3-3 (Total), 2-2 (Singles)
Matches: Sonic (Win), Gary (Win), Flint & Barret (Loss), Barret (Loss), Vegeta (Loss), Zubaz, Kefka (Win)
Goemon decided to focus on singles career, separating from Ebisumaru temporarily. Goemon was gaining momentum with 2 wins, but Barret Wallace would come out of nowhere and beat him in a tag match AND 2/3 falls match. Goemon participated in the King of The Ring tournament, but lost to Vegeta in the first round, who would proceed to win the tournament.
He had a triple threat tables match at the go home show, but Gameshark would change the stipulation to FLAMING tables match. After the three drove each other through the table countless times, Goemon did a takedown move and KO'd Kefka.
In 2/3 Falls match, Gameshark swapped Barret and Goemon's arm. Considering Barret does not have right hand, you have to wonder if that affected the outcome of the match.
26: Phoenix Wright Record: 2-3 (Total), 2-2 (Singles)
Matches: Johnny Cage (Loss), Captain Falcon (Win), Red, Ganondorf (Loss), Flint (Loss), Edgeworth (Win)
Phoenix fought in the main event of the first episode, losing to Johnny Cage (who later beat Ganondorf and got title shot). His performance in this season was average, 2-2 in singles.
Phoenix confronted Edgeworth at End Game X, and as expected, he faced Edgeworth at End Game X-1. Phoenix was given title shot opportunity if he beat Red. However, Phoenix decided to point fingers at the finish, losing the match. He later acted as defendant for Red, clashing with Gary and Edgeworth. Although the two were ready for vocal confrontation, Gary decided to have none of that and book them in wrestling match. That's how things work in VGCW.
Phoenix was unaffected by Gameshark this season, unlike the next person who was squeezed dry by the Shark.
25: Dante Record: 2-4 (Total), 0-2 (Singles) Matches: The Bullies (Win), Nappa, Ezio (Loss), Flint (Loss), The Saiyans (Loss), Segata Sanshiro (Loss), BLU Rogues (Win) Following the aftermath of End Game X-1, Dante was forced to team up with Travis. Whenever the two were on camera, the two exchanged copious amounts of profanity. Ah, that's the youth. The rocket strapped to his back ran out of fuel, and simply speaking, Dante did not perform well this season. Hilariously enough, Dante did great in tag matches. Even though Dante hates Travis, he might be his greatest ally in the future. Dante was one of biggest victim of Gameshark to everyone's humor. Here are some examples.
- Teleported into RAW arena in Buffalo, New York. Dante decided to attack Travis in that match.
- When Travis wrestled Waluigi, Dante swapped sides with Wario and managed Waluigi. Was this even Gameshark's doing?
- Turned into a girl. Literally.
- Spontaneous hair growth and got a mullet
24: Guybrush Record: 2-2 (Total), 1-0 (Singles)
Matches: The Bullies (Win), Toejam & Earl (Loss), Raijin (Win), The Fuckheads (Loss)
Guybrush was a SNST and EDBW veteran, staying in the developmental for nearly two years. With the blessing from RNG Goddess, Guybrush teamed up with Demoman at the tag team tournament and rejuvenated his career. He later formed three-man stable with Vyse and Demoman, calling themselves "The BLU Rogues".
The trio debuted by crashing into ring, which was so spectacular that it crashed the PS3. He was seen bantering with Fuckheads, calling both of them cows! Few months later, Travis enacted revenge and pinned him in a tag team match. In terms of record, Guybrush is only Rogue to win a singles match. However, he was pinned in both of tag matches.
Oh, and Banon came to visit Guybrush in that singles match. TWO Banons, precisely, before Ref ejected both of them.

I am still upset that Barret looked at Goemon's slight momentum rise and apparently decided to trashcan it completely. Does he just hate Konami?

Oh, I botched record for Dante. My bad.
Moving on to people who showed up at End Game X-1! and Duke!
23. Kanji Tatsumi Record: 2-3 (Total), 1-3 (Singles)
Matches: Sabin (Loss), Donkey Kong (Win), Solid Snake (Loss), 6-Man Tag Team (Win), Ganondorf (Loss)
After years in developmental, Kanji was finally called up and achieved 5-0 streak in Season 9, which granted him title shot in Season 10. Kanji spent the entire season challenging VGCW champion and ex-champions, culminating in his match against Ganondorf at End Game. The outcome? People are convinced that he can hang out with the big boys in VGCW, and not just a chip off the block. Kanji was seen hanging out with EDBW graduates (Toejam & Earl), and you could say he's the leader of New Generation.
Kanji's clothes was swapped to his Dancing All Night attire in his match against Snake, and he was forced into Teddy Long Special by Gameshark.
22. Senator Armstrong Record: 1-2 (Total), 1-1 (Singles)
Matches: Ebisumaru (Win), Dracula (Loss), Shadow Ball Valley (Loss)
Armstrong opened the season by throwing promo on Illidan. Later, he confronted Dracula to obtain documents for GM Gary Oak, and decided to throw Dracula into open sun. Gary responded to this by booking him against Ebisumaru, who shoved his crotch on Armstrong during the match. Dracula was critically injured and we thought he would stay so for the rest of season, but he interrupted Armstrong's promo much to his surprise. Armstrong lost to Dracula cleanly at Infinite Summer, and acted as Gary's bodyguard during the Royal Rumble.
The storm brewed between Gary and Shadow Ball Valley, and as I have described before, Armstrong decided to face the two in tag match at End Game. Despite getting pinned by Illidan and losing the match, Armstrong appeared to be satisfied with the duo, who took matters into their own hands. Armstrong DID claim that he will begin his plan, so let's see where this goes.
21. Zangief Record: 3-2 (Total), 3-1 (Singles)
Matches: Red (Loss), Wario (Win), Wily, Vegeta, Illidan (Loss) Chief Arinos (Win), Sho Minamimoto (Win)
Zangief didn't interact much with others in plot. However, he's pretty good at curtain jerk and made a bizarre streak. Who will beat the streak, and what will Zangief do after the streak is broken?
Also, I counted two Arinos and two Zangiefs as a singles match.
20. Break Man Record: 3-4 (Total), 2-1 (Singles)
Matches: Six-Man Ladder Match (Loss), The Practice (Win), Salvation Ops (Loss), Dan Hibiki (Win), Red (Win), 6-Man Tag Team (Loss), Octodad (Loss)
To show that he is no longer slave, Break Man got a new face guard this season. Break Man was ripping through everyone on mic. He insulted and brawled with Dr. Wily and beat The Practice in tag match. Break Man tried the same thing for Adam Jensen, blaming Gabe's death on HIM. This did not go well, as Adam manned up and beat him at Infinite Summer. Later, Break Man beat two past contenders and heeled up by not using his finisher.
In the Teddy Long special, Break Man appeared out of nowhere and people wondered why. Turns out he was interested in Gameshark itself! When Dracula was confronting Air Man, Break Man inquired him about Gameshark and said he NEEDS it. At End Game X-1, Break Man came to ring and "absorbed" Gameshark's power, insulting Sega in the process. Again, this backfired horribly. Turns out Gameshark did the opposite and weakened him. Despite his efforts, Break Man was no match for enraged Octodad.
Break Man was one of central figure in Season X-1. He acted as Air Man's voice for while, contributed to birth of Salvation Ops, and almost took over the world with Gameshark's power!
19. Duke Nukem Record: 4-3 (Total, all singles match!)
Matches: Bowser (Loss), Knuckles (Win), Nappa (Win), Dracula (Loss), Waluigi (Win), Chief Arino (Win), Vegeta (Loss)
Seven.
Singles.
Match.
Well, three of them came from King of the Ring, but here ya go. Duke's momentum constantly fluctuated throughout the season. Duke main evented in Episode 2 and got 2-0'd by Bowser. THEN, he beat Nappa's singles streak. Then he lost to Dracula (who became champion next week). He also went to finals of KOTR before losing to Vegeta. If he won any of three matches, Duke might have been #1 Contender. Oh well. There's always next season.
The most important thing, in my opinion, is his relationship with Mama becoming canon. He also showed up in WVGCW stinger! Duke was one of first victim of Gameshark. He was forced to wear Nappa's swimsuits, and fought Dracula in ring filled with lava. Duke also travelled across the world in King of the Ring before coming back to End Game arena.

Duke gives me a YTJ style feeling. He's someone that a win over means something, good to boost up already rising and established stars, while still being well received and not really ever seeming weak.

Duke is still a threat, and is still a very solid wrestler. But the harsh fact is that the guy has had a lot of big chances and always lets it slip right at the end. His title match with Scorpion, his GM Tournament fight with Gary, his King of the Beach final with Vegeta. While he's not at the level of, say, Barret, the man has made a habit out of looking unstoppable until the time comes to put over someone with more momentum, like Dracula or Vegeta. He's clearly strong, you don't survive a fight with Nappa, let alone beat him, without being strong.
What Duke needs is a trip to multi-man hell. The guy has a disproportionate number of singles matches and it's high time he spent a season slumming it like Illidan or Airman or Groose before him. Also, more Mama and Duke cutscenes. The pairing adds a hell of a lot of personality to Duke and he can always use it.
