I can't believe there's no topic for this yet, especially since I know there are people here playing this. (Well... at least Belmont and Choco)

So here we have the vastly enormous, single player MMO, successor to Reyn Time known as Xenoblade Chronicles X as the supposed "killer app" for the Wii U today. Who's playing it? Who's liking it? Who's... really feeling it?

(Psst... I'm only 10 hours in but it's pretty fucking good.)

I haven't got it yet. I was a little bit Once Bitten Twice Shy about the first game after I got up to Lorithia, couldn't win, and basically realised I'd been playing the whole game wrong and would either have to grind for years or start a new file.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see if the genuine consensus is in favour of the game, and probably get it at some point.

Okay, how do you 'play wrong' all the way up to the very verge of endgame territory? Like, I'm honestly curious how that even works.

Hero Rance would like to battle
I'm loving it except for the endless press L + A for X spam. Its like a strange First Person MMO. The OST is fantastic especially the Tyrant theme, Uncontrollable.

Alright, dudes?
Not had a chance to play much, only done the tutorial and pottered around NLA. Digging the music, not sure on the battle music yet though.

I'm really feelin' it so far.

I just wish I could find those "puges" to farm for Lin's parts so I could do her quest because until I finish it I literally cannot progress in the story. Not a fan of how you can't accept more story missions without doing the affinity quest you picked up.

Almost all turn-in quest items can be bought with the online mode's reward tickets from the division kiosk inside the BLADE Barracks.

Yeah, I figured this out during an affinity quest where I was getting my ass handed to me. Treat those reward tickets like bison bucks.

By not using Melia or Riki, basically. Until Lorithia, I was getting by just fine with a combination of Shulk, Sharla, and Dunban, since the three had an easy chain attack that resulted in Topple pretty much every time (certain bosses excluded).

Enter Lorithia with obscene physical defence (and a proclivity to push people attacking her defence nodes into the ether moat), and all the strategies for beating her seem to involve Fiora, Riki, and/or Melia, who on my file had no affinity amongst themselves or barely any with Monado Boy. In the time it would take me to git gud with them, I could probably replay the game.

In any case, none of my scrub-tier antics in the Wii game should have any bearing on the Wii U one, so judging on feedback in this thread, I might start really feeling it sooner than I'd imagined.

As someone who had that exact same problem with Lorithia, it honestly isn't so hard. Use Melia as your main character and keep that magic damage up, then use Sharla and Riki to keep you as healed as possible. You'll spend a lot of the fight running circles around Lorithia desperately trying not to die, but with Sharla's healing and Riki's assistance you should outlast her pretty well. That fight's a complete bastard though, I agree.

I managed to get through the entire game just using the default team of Shulk, Reyn and Sharla.

The only time I switched was due to the plot in places.
