VGCW has very good entrance music. It's common for chat to sing along with their favourite songs. Whether its the barrage of "HEY"s to Barret's or mocking the Engrish in Travis Touchdown's, the chat loves these songs and what they represent for their favourite VGCW superstars. But which of these is the best of the best, which entrance theme stands above all the others and why? We're going to find out, as in the down time between seasons, we are presented with a great opportunity to have a little fun and run a competition so YOU can decide which entrance music is the best. Consider various factors, such as how the song fits the character, how hyped it gets you, the ever important 'first 1.5 seconds' factor, and ultimately just how good the track is. Here's the bracket: http://challonge.com/vgcwthemecontest Seeding was done randomly. I put everybody's names in then shuffled it about 20 times. I'm thinking about just leaving each vote to a Strawpoll and let you guys discuss it in the thread, but maybe I should have each person post in the thread saying who they're voting for, if you think that's more fair. Due to my work schedule its hard to find a consistent time to do the day rollover but I'll settle for attempting to do so at 12am AEST aka about 9am eastern time. Thus, the competition will start in about 12 hours. In order to leave room for discussion about the themes and what we like about them, etc but also not going too slowly, we'll go for 2 matches a day, aka the whole thing will take about a month. I'll post YouTube links to the themes we'll be voting on. In the case of those like Waluigi or Dracula who have a quote first or anybody else who has an edited version of the song, I'll create an edit of my own that matches VGCW's edit as closely as possible. If you've got any other suggestions on how this should be done let me know. |

Will other versions be done later? Like WVGCW? And EDBW? BWA? |

Johnny Cage, Octodad, Guybrush, Dr Wily, Kanji, Rajin, and Toejam & Earls themes and entrances are what get me most hyped. Other characters like Bowser, Barret, Vegeta, and Dan are also very good, but lack that extra little something to take them to the top. Twist my arm and force me to choose I would have to say that Cage, Wily, and Octodad have the best entrances. They fit the character, are incredibly memorable and always makes me happy and hype to see them. |

I played The Game and got stuck with Dunn for a month.

Voting for best theme songs in VGCW? I'm definitely game to take part in this. May the best theme song win, and hopefully you're favorites (tm) will go far too. |

Does this include bits at the beggining of the songs, such as the "What is a Man" or "Havn't you ever Seen a Pink Shirt Before" |

Okay well I'm about to pass out so I think I'll start an hour early. Decided that in hopes of inspiring discussion, I'll make it so to vote you must post in the thread with your choices, should make it more personal than just leaving it to a strawpoll. I'll tally the votes up at this time tomorrow. First up today we have Sabin Rene Figaro vs Zangief The rap is gone for now, will this affect the vote? Will Gief be pushed into the second round of the tournament? You decide. The second match is Sonic the Hedgehog vs The VGCW Champion, Lord Dracula Sonic has made an incredible career turnaround in Season 11, coincidentally also the same season he got this new entrance music! Dracula's music is something you're going to be hearing a lot of for the time being in VGCW, and it closed the show at Endgame X1, but is it the better track than that good old Sonic rock? |

While i'm pretty neutral on both the first two choices I've always been a fan of the classic Gief theme and I still don't really feel that song fitting Sabin, so I'm giving the nod to Gief there. As for the 2nd poll, it's unanimously Dracula (with sound byte) for me, especially since there are lots of other Sonic songs I'd prefer over that one. |

I ran a music tournament thread once. It was awful. Let's go with Gief and Dracula. Gief has curtain jerk familiarity with his theme while Sabin's theme-hopping. I personally never liked the rap. It Doesn't Matter, in a vacuum, is my favorite song of the four listed, but Dracula's entrance is completed by "WHAT IS A MAN!?" Edited by Cran Rightia, Dec 9 2015, 08:04 AM.

While neither Prince Sabin nor Zangief's themes really drum up energy, I can identify Sabin's from the very first note alone and it sounds nice, so he gets my vote. Also, the rap was pretty neat. Sonic's theme takes like 20 seconds to get going at all and it doesn't really pop out in the slightest. Count Dracula's theme has that iconic soundbyte to start things off and build hype and then the song begins with a lot of power and picks up where the soundbyte left off. It builds up tension and has a wonderful ominous, foreboding feeling throughout the song. Also, that version of "Dance of Illusions" features a brief segment of "Black Night", one of Dracula's first boss themes, which is a really cool touch. Sabin and Dracula get my votes. Gonna go for Gief, if Sabin still had the rap I would have gone for him, but sadly he doesn't since he dropped the title. Gonna go with Dracula just because his theme is pretty much perfect for him (including WHAT IS A MAN!?), even if I do love It Doesn't Matter Edited by Bittersteel, Dec 9 2015, 08:40 AM.

Oh hey, a thing I can vote in! I like those things. I'm in. First of all...Yeesh, not a stellar first performance? If Sabin still had his rap, this would be a blowout I think, but with them being the way they are now...Sabin's orchestral theme, I think, is more pleasing to the ear than Zangief's chip tune bounciness. Point goes to Sabin Now this is more like it! Both Dracula and Sonic have some pretty sweet themes, both songs I listen to frequently while I'm jogging. However, Sonic's song has a distinct advantage-lyrics. That means that Sonic's theme actually tells us something about the character instead of just being a badass tune. Point goes to Sonic |
