Ladies Love it.

Sabin...my man...Had this song been a rap, I would have given it to you all the way. But the Figaro Castle Orchestral theme is just so low impact...I gotta give it to the Geif And there's absolutly no contest here. Lord Drake U Love gets this. Hands down. The "What is a Man", those first four notes, and the Violin Sting all the way through fit so well, it's just perfect. |

As a giant music snob I'm probably going to get a lot of mileage out of this thread. Zangief Both of these two are pretty bad themes for a wrestler, they lack a really hard drumline, they're both relatively slow in tempo and not very exciting melodies. The rap was objectively terrible, but it suited Sabin well enough and eventually looped back around to being enjoyable, but that's gone now. Gief's theme is good enough for him, and there's nothing quite like his music hitting before the first match of the show, so it just about gets my vote. Dracula I grew up on 3D Sonic buttrock so I know a thing or two about it, but it doesn't really do it for me anymore. While I'd say It Doesn't Matter is certainly among the better ones of that super specific subset, it still has a lot of stuff I don't like, like that fucking chorus being so saccharine my teeth hurt. Also, I wouldn't have seen it as really fitting entrance music for Sonic. As much of a known in-joke as it is, it's still kind of on the slow side. Yes, Drac does have a cool soundbite before his song, and it is true that entrance themes that start with soundbites are indisputably better for the most part, but the song that comes after is really damn good too. The intro screams PRESENCE, and the rest is perfectly grand, elegant and punchy for Drac. Being closer to a movement from an opera than anything else, there's a lot going on like the complicated harpsichord lines in the background which I like a lot. The only thing I'll say is that I like the version on the wiki a little better for its instrumentation and a couple little added things, but that doesn't take away from this being a really damn good theme. And not just because of the soundbite. |

Sabin and Sonic While it's not my favorite music in FFVI it's much better then Gief's theme that doesn't get me hype at all and Sabin gets so excited at the ramp so maybe that helps some. Yeah I'll be one of the very few that picks Sonic but god damn I love the SA1 version of It Doesn't Matter so that's why I'm picking it. |

Gief and Sonic. If Sabin still had the rap then he would get the point but without it.......it's just kinda boring. I love Drac's theme but I can't put it above my favorite theme in Sonic Adventure. |

Genesis Does!

But Commander, are either themes True Patrician Music™? Personally, I gotta go for Sabin and Drac. Gief's theme is just way too...odd of a song to really work as a wrestling theme, but it's just sort of stuck around out of habit. I can't help but think "There's gotta be a better option for Gief than this" every time I hear his theme. Sabin's theme's not a lot better, but it definitely is a step up ALSO WHEN THE FUCK IS THE WU-TANG THEME, COME ON Dracula's theme is pretty great as an entrance theme. Everything just kind of works and makes it naturally suited, especially with the soundbite. Sonic's isn't bad, honestly, but Drac's clearly outclasses it. |

Is "gross" one of those words that sound bad but are actually good, like "sick?" If so, the rap was totally gross, bro. Sabin's current theme and Zangief's both don't do much for me, but after listening to them again, I'll have to give it to Zangief as the opening bassline is quite memorable and unique compared to what over wrestlers use. Dracula and Sonic are definitely the better two of the fourpack here. I'll vote for Dracula as the iconic soundbite pushes it past many others. Sonic's has grown on me, but it's facing some stiff competition. Don't criiiiticize. Edited by Hexagon Heat, Dec 9 2015, 07:03 PM.

Professional at being unprofessional.

Zangief only on the grounds that it's more iconic and it's worked for him all this time, while Sabin has to keep changing themes. Free the rap. Dracula definitely though, especially with the "WHAT IS A MAN" intro. Sonic's is pretty good though. |

Guile did nothing wrong
|
While on the subject of Gief, I still do feel like all the Street Fighters could use better themes. I'm assuming that Bison will be getting new one as the villain for next season, but Gief and Guile should at least get their IV themes or something. Dan's is perfect, though |

I vote for Sabin and Dracula. Zangeif's theme is pretty much anti-hype and doesn't sound like the music Zangeif should be coming out with. It's like Zangeif himself, slow, lumbering, and every time I hear/see it I wonder why it hasn't been replaced. Sabin's theme is just kinda there, nothing special, but at least it doesn't make me want to fall asleep, it wins this round based on that alone. Dracula's theme goes on forever and is boring as hell but at least it fits his character and his opening quote is very memorable. I REALLY don't like Dracula, but everything about his theme and entrance fit him as a character, so he has that going for him. Sonic is on his, what, 4th entrance song now? Just frigging pick what you loser, AND ACTUALLY RUN DURING YOUR INTRO! So again, I vote for Sabin and Dracula. |

EVEN IN YOUR RUMBLE
|
I would love to rep my man Sonic, I will always defend its stupid buttrock...but Dracula is just so good. I expect Drac to go far in this tournament. Sabin and Dracula for me. |

The first match of the tournament is over! Zangief takes out Sabin in a fairly close match with a score of 19 to 12. At one point the two were completely even, but then Zangief started to rally and a couple of late Sabin votes couldn't help swing the tide back. Gief is pushed to the next round. Dracula utterly DESTROYED Sonic with a score of 26 to 5. I think Sonic's song is quite good, but it got a bad draw against arguably one of the top contenders for this tournament. Next up we have quite the match for you. The King of Awesome, Bowser vs Captain Falcon Bowser's theme has been in VGCW since just about the beginning. It's served as a great warning to his opponent that, win or lose, you're in for the fight of your life. Captain Falcon swapped to this theme in the first episode of Season 11, but it's only been given a couple of opportunities to play since then. Nonetheless, it's a good one for sure. But can it stand against the looming dread the King of Awesome's music inspires? And our second match for today Travis Touchdown vs Ezio Auditore da Firenze Travis' music gets made fun of a lot in chat, but I suspect most of it is light hearted jabbing. Ezio has become a hero of the people recently, with the VGCW fans eagerly glued to his matches, awaiting a multitude of assgrab possibilities. But what about his music, does that grab you? |
