Break Man and Ganondorf. I've already discussed Ganon and Goemon, and quite frankly I just find Ganon's more intimidating than Goemon's. Works better to convey what Ganondorf stands for. Goemon's theme is really upbeat and cheery but Goemon himself hasn't shown the slightest bit of optimism in plot for me. Ganon's theme is dark and intimidating. Ganon is dark and intimidating. It works.

Now, for a word on why Break Man is the literal best.

A Fucking Essay

Remember last year when we were excited for this?
Break Man vs Duke - Both amazing themes, but the mood set by Break Man's theme just hits it for me, building up through the whole thing. :proto:

Ganon vs Goemon - I've said it before last round, Ganon's first 10 seconds or so are great, but then the song just falls down. Goemon's theme stays hype throughout, so I have to pick it. :goemon:

As good as Duke's theme is, Break Man's theme is a treasure. Not only is it a great song on its own, it tells the story of Break's heel turn to a T. The disgust in humanity not standing up for themselves, the rage at mankind for placing all the burden on then abandoning him instead of helping, how he was once the cheered hero of the people, and what he thinks is the futility of it all. It speaks to his character and Season 8 arc perfectly, it's a reminder of how Break Man began now that he's settled into the role, and it basically marks the true death of Proto Man. The mechanical pitch to the voice helps sell that it's Break's point of view as well, and finally the "We've given everything we can," line works perfectly as a reference to Gray Fox. Break Man gets my vote.

Goemon's got a great peppy theme, but Ganon's song casts Goemon down into the darkness. Ganon is one of the few guys who doesn't need a soundbyte or anything; the first frame of that entrance and the fire along with those opening notes, "Enter Ganondorf", do all the talking. Ganon's song signals certain doom for his opponents and gives the impression that, though an opponent is on the battlefield, a force of nature is what will inevitably destroy them. In addition to giving us several speed-related jokes over the years (and plenty of time in which to make them), Ganon's theme also feels like he can take as long as he wants getting to the ring because of how hopelessly doomed his foes are. The song itself feels like part of the reason Ganon has always entered last in a match, providing a threatening air to any situation and building a climate where you legitimately worry for his opponents. For example, if Ganon and Goemon had a match and Ganon entered first, when Goemon appeared chat would be saying "Ha ha, Goemon's so fucked." If Ganon entered second, the chat would say stuff like "Nooooooo", "Fuuuuuuuck",and type ";_;7" by the dozens for Goemon, and it would only intensify during the slow march to the ring. While guys like Bowser can cause a similar effect with their reputation alone, few themes can do the same like Ganon's does. Ganondorf gets my vote.

Ladies Love it.
As much as I love Duke's theme, Break Man's heel turn brought him what is one of the best themes on the roster, fitting his story perfectly. Vote Break.

Gannon's is Gannon's.
Vote Gannon.

Duke and Ganondorf.

I'm not a fan of Proto/Break Man's theme myself so I won't be for it most of the time.

Duke & Goemon.

Protoman's intro is forgettable and Ganon's is boring.

Break Man and Ganon.

I think Ganon really needs a new theme though. The reason Terra and Magus got away with the same entrance (minus burning druids) is because their themes have such energy that they can support the walk to the ring without getting dull.

Keep Ganon's stinger and give him, I dunno, WW Ganon's theme or something.

Duke and Goemon. A year ago I would have said Ganon, but I'm just kind of bored with it now.

Never bet on Duke because he lost to Break Man 34-11. Ganondorf has a very close match for the second round in a row, defeating Goemon 23-22.

Raijin

vs

Kanji Tatsumi

Knuckles the Echidna

Round 1 Results: Beat Toejam and Earl 29-7

vs
