Vegeta was kicking out at one after that comeback. I think Vegeta could've kicked out of that Get Over Here, so we would've just had to wait and see. |

And now we'll never know if he could have pulled it off. But in the end, it doesn't matter. Vegeta went in there and made Scorpion look vulnerable. He made Scorpion SWEAT. He was fighting on the same damn level as one of the monsters of VGCW and looking damn confident doing it. This is the season of the BADMAN. |

I played The Game and got stuck with Dunn for a month.
|
Okay then, who left a huge wooden crate on the plane? And why do I get the feeling that whatever or whoever was in there probably is going to cause trouble soon for VGCW? |

Fabulous, fantastic Season opener. Every match had something incredible in it, the plots were absolutely on fire, and I love that custom arena. Mushroom Kingdom indeed, and it gave us a neat locale-based match that went from a hilarious slaughter to an intense runback from Toad. The music building for each minute was awesome too, and it made that one song not feel like it was just a single tune. Wily vs. Arino was a very competitive start to the Season, and Wily hit the uncontested Sync of the Night. He knew exactly what he was doing when he opted for the OMG. It's a bit of a shame that Arino didn't get on the board, but he felt like he was seconds away from a Kicks --> Continue sweep and ending the match himself, so it was a neat match overall. Dan vs. Guybrush was pretty even too and I loved how they traded their specialty massive punches. Guybrush going for a dirty pin only for Dan to teach him how it's done with the Pratitude Adjustment was neat, and I loved how Dan ran back and forth to wait out the Grogback. It was both exceptionally brilliant and felt like a perfect Dan thing to do, like he was outright mocking Threepwood. He goofed and got Grogged though, which led into a freaking awesome final sequence. Zangief and Demoman had a very tense match and, as if he knew Mika was watching, Zangief actually delivered a very good show. He even hit the Final Atomic Buster in the corner that Mika was watching from, and overall I actually thought Zangief was more likely to win in the final third. However, Demoman played a long game and blew Zangief away for the finish with the Kaboom. You'd think that's how Zangief would get a win over Demo instead of vice versa, but hey, Zangief looked better than usual in front of his biggest fan. The Fuckheads kind of got trounced for a while, but at least Barret and Flint put a brutal twist to it, and Travis' Tiger Driver to Tombstone was almost a game changer. Barret's bonks were pretty funny, and Flint had the best dang timing for that finish. Travis popped Darkside Mode? DDT him in such a way that he bounces up through a table. Great "now or never" timing on that. The KO match was pretty good all things considered, though I was salty that Duke won, and right after a reversal too. Duke, man, I hope that was a Sig you used and not an X-Ray or Shadow Kick you reversed, because that might start becoming a thing with you. Anyway, Johnny Cage is the first guy to beat Phoenix Wright twice in a row, overcoming appeals court, and the X-ray elimination on Ezio was hilarious, even if it stung for Ezio -- Cage feels like the kind of guy where he makes that work for him more than it hurts the other dude though. Auditore got some great moments of his own too, from the heart punch to kneeing Duke out of a dick stomp on Cage, and Nick was vicious as usual. That Wake-up Taunt point though -- it feels like someone interrupts him or reverses the Verdict when that happens for a while now. He got to Turnabout afterward though, so he had a good moment against Cage. Bowser vs. Toad was a hilarious slaughter on paper and certainly delivered at the start. Vegeta looked like a mega heel to the local Mushroom Kingdom population for setting that up, but Toad actually started running it back and closing the gap with all his tryharding. It was a short but very intense match, and the Baby Park theme building each time really made the song stay fresh. Also, that bit with Bowser doing a stall run on the ropes for a bit was just perfect heel work to anger the Mushroom Kingdom. Finally, Vegeta vs. Scorpion was an excellent bout, with Vegeta looking absolutely on fire out there. Scorpion showed why he got the title "King of the Top Card" as well and I got really hyped and tense. Vegeta kicking out of the Spear at 1 was amazing, and when the X-Ray went straight into a Get Over Here it felt very probable that Vegeta could kick out. The X-Ray was popped and no longer an issue, and the Sayian king was on fire. He could have done it, he could have been the first non-Ganon person to beat Scorpion after Challenge Tower. In that regard Bison had the greatest Heel timing ever. I'm actually surprised that Bison is stepping out from the shadows so soon, but I get the feeling he knows exactly what he's doing. He definitely did his research on how to Max Heel, so he's no doubt got a lot of tricks up his sleeves. Incredible start to the World Tour. Loved it! |

So, that gauntlet King Vegeta proposed for the Dragons, is it going to be pitting them in a title match week after week against the current contending teams, or is more a way to round off the true #1 contender before the midseason show or whatever time TOH has in mind? |

So, I dig the hometown pops, but is there going to be arena specific heat as well? For example, if the World Tour was going to Netherrealm, would the MK characters be cheered while the Street Fighters get booed? |

I watched Flint's winning DDT again on the Network and noticed something Cliffracer pointed out in chat. During their intro, Barret and Flint were called The Good Guys by Justin Roberts. However, when they were celebrating their victory he called them The Agents. Last gasp of the Gameshark, or just 2Kuality trying to take back its throne? |

Seems every man on the roster has had their tag-team name set randomly. More likely bog-standard 2Kuality than the shark. |

Together We OH GOD
|
It can happen from time to time. Sometimes the game will just randomly call out the wrong tag team name during the entrance or winning animation. Game is weird. |

Couldn't watch (fuck Twitch) live but I'll post my thoughts here: I lol'ed at the intro when people referenced Genesis' Illegal Alien. Intro plot in general was great. Awesome start to the season. Production values are so cool. The scene showing the next destination was amazing. Wily going for that streak in the first match, with his old clothes back though... And he won! I didn't expect that tbh haha. Dan vs Guybrush. I'm glad Dan won, even if poor Guybrush needs a win... The finish was awesome though. I'm so happy Eggman is still his Robotnik self. The plot loading a minute for like 3 seconds of R. Mika in the crowd was a glorious moment. She couldn't witness Zangief win though, but Demo deserved it. Poor Octodad ;_; (awesome music in that scene too, what was it?) The ending to the tables match was uh... well, this IS 2Kuality after all. Hahaha even Cole and Lawler rejecting Groose was hilarious. The Dr. Mario pop was also great (Bowser got no love sadly, which makes sense I think). Poor Zubaz though. Damn the fatal 4 way is stacked. KOs are a bit hard to notice unless the commentators call them out though, so they don't work that well in multi man matches IMO. King Vegeta is the best GM. Toad got REKT. The swag after breaking Table-san was the best (I hope there's a GIF of that). Music was driving me crazy though. The fucking trumpets before Vegeta's intro haha. I think he's my current favourite. Scorps is still too strong though, he was clearly going to win. Bison finally in plot! IIRC, this is the second time Scorps gets speared out of nowhere by Bison btw. Great episode, looking forward to the next. |
