I feel I should mention that the only roster member with 3 or more wins in a row who isn't holding a belt right now is Dan.

Just saying.

Huh. Y'know, considering how much of a huge joke Shadaloo is. If Goemon and Guile really are dead forever, I think that says a LOT about what creative thought of the two of them.

Makes me even more sad...

So, beat the clock matches, huh. Let's look at history of tag team matches between Blood Money and now.

Episode 11 - New Pork City
- Salvation Ops def The Fuckheads
- Deadly Alliance def The Practice

Episode 10 - Indigo Plateau
- The Dragons def. Shadaloo
- Shadow Ball Valley def Fisherman's Horizon

Episode 9 - The Monkey Island
- The Mavericks def. Toejam & Earl
- BLU Rogues def. Sonic Truffle

Episode 8 - Japanifornia
- Fisherman's Horizon def. FF3 & Knuckles

Episode 7 - Japan
- Deadly Alliance def. BLU Rogues
- The Fuckheads def. Toejam & Earl

Episode 6 - Skull Castle
- The Practice def. Sonic Truffle
- FF3 & Knuckles def. Salvation Ops

Let's take these records and sort teams in alphabetical order. I excluded Shadow Ball Valley (Champions), Fisherman's Horizon (#1 Contender team at Mega Evolution), The Dragons (former tag champs) and Shadaloo (Shadaloo):

BLU Rogues: 1-1
Deadly Alliance: 2-0
FF3 & Knuckles: 1-1 (Lost last contenders match)
The Fuckheads: 1-1
The Mavericks: 1-0
The Practice: 1-1
Salvation Ops: 1-1
Sonic Truffle: 0-2
Toejam & Earl: 0-2

Most teams are stuck in the state of 50/50. Deadly Alliance stands out with 2 consecutive wins. It seems that any team can be in Beat the Clock matches.

On interesting note, Sonic Truffle and Toejam & Earl were booked in Beat the Clock matches, even though both their records were 0-3. (Sonic Truffle lost to FF3 in Episode 3, Toejam & Earl lost to Fisherman's Horizon in Episode 2)

Well he's gonna get a huge chance to make his case for contendership against Groose.

Remember last year when we were excited for this?
Well, let's look at the remaining teams that haven't competed, and what they've been doing other than just winning and losing.

The Dragons - Previous champions, been giving singles a try lately. Likely not.

The Practice - Wily's casual champ. This means they're probably not going to be in the BTC.

Blu Rogues - Guybrush is the casual contender, but there are of course two other members who could compete. However the Rogues are also caught up in the MitB plot with Ganon, which might keep them away from this one.

The Saiyans - They could enter the tournament to avenge their fallen queen and jester, but there's still a lot of bad sentiment about the Saiyans as a team and Nappa in general, and then there's Vegeta's royal duties to consider. And speaking of royal duties...

Deadly Alliance - They're on a roll, but Johnny did just win the King of the World tournament. This could present some royal obligations that would keep him out of the challenge. If not for that however, I agree that DA would have been a shoo-in due to their momentum.

Salvation Ops - I guess they've been a force designed to stand up against Shadaloo, this could keep them out of the event this time, but it's hard to say.

Mavericks - They've been lying low this season, but the former champs should be in consideration, and don't have any significant plot obligations to stop them.

Fuckheads - Travis might still be hunting Shadaloo? Dante lost to Virgil. Still seems like they should be in.

FF3 & Knuckles - They seem like a good pick for this tournament, even having lost a contender's match recently. Plus, a possible final round rematch between FF3&K and Sonic Truffle is an exciting prospect.

Shadaloo - Yeah, they've been bad, but their biggest victory has been in a 6-man tag, so maybe a tag team match would be more their speed? Some combination of Falcon, Asura and Flint could remain as a unit even if Bison leaves and/or Shadaloo is "vanquished", so it could work even with the plot implications? Asura and Flint would be the most hardcore dad team imaginable outside of the whole brainwashing thing.

A new team??? - We've already had 2, but you never know. Haggar and Heavy aren't officially a team, but have shown that they're still working together, so they could try to make a run. You also could possibly have the team of Edgeworth and Armstrong representing Gary's Authority, or some other combo we've never dreamed of.

Mavericks and FF3 and Knuckles seem locks, and other than that... I've been sitting here for a while now just wracking my brain as to who is going to jump into this. So many teams can't really join because they have obligations to plot, but now I have to wonder if maybe Creative is going to alter to plot to get a few more teams in here that are already established because I can say in all certainty that we do not need more tag teams.

We could always bring back Gerudo Skies, though.

We trying to push Johnny Cage for double duty at Endgame?

Then again, Vegeta vs Cage hasn't ACTUALLY been confirmed yet so...

It could lead to Scorpion getting sick(er) of Cage's shit with all this king business

Oh and that Vegeta vs. Scorpion from early in the season had no winner, I think Scorpion would want to fight Vegeta again for a clear winner before Cage would fight him.
