Oh boy... I heard that the game once again has coins but not exp from battles, according to someone that saw the JP trailer, just like in Sticker Star. Nintendo, why? |

Color Splash is proof about just how disconnected Nintendo is from its audience. "Hey, no one liked Sticker Star, so let's create a new Paper Mario game that almost plays exactly like fucking Sticker Star!" Won't even get started on Nintendo Treehouse aka. 4kids Gaming. i think right now I stand and have accepted that the gameplay is probably gonna be shit and sticker star esque, but it might have a good story. It could man. It could. That was the worst thing about Sticker Star. |

It could but I doubt it, looking at their last two Mario RPG's t'll just take place in Mushroom Kingdom with the same characters we've seen 100x over and Bowser will be the main villain again (he's been the big bad of the last three Mario RPG's). |

It's confirmed to be outside the Mushroom Kingdom, but that didn't stop them from having Toads, Goombas, and Koopas, everywhere |

I played The Game and got stuck with Dunn for a month.

At this point, I view it as "worried as hell for this, but wait for more info". It seems like Sticker Star 2: Paintlectric Boogaloo so far, but I wanna at least learn about the plot first, as well as other info of note before I start gathering up pitchforks and torches for this game. Also, as long as the music's gud, then at least there's that to look forward to....I hope? |

Man, I don't even want to talk about Color Splash. Just thinking about what little we know makes me want to talk about TTYD instead. Remember how great Chapter 3 was? Yeah, that was a good game. |

Ya know, I would make a complaint about why making a game like Color Splash (which practically is Sticker Star but with COLORZ!) would be and is a genuinely overall bad idea. But I'd just be preaching to the choir at this point and come off as captain obvious. So just to throw in my two cents, the trailer for the game that was shown in the Direct didn't interest or encourage me enough to have me want to play it. I mean kids will probably like it but that's probably as far as it's gonna go. Edited by AnthonyDeadman64, Mar 7 2016, 10:37 PM.

Remember how good the entire game was? From slaying dragons to helping Totally-Not-Pikmin defend a tree in a trippy wood to WRES to having your identity stolen by a ghost who turns people into pigs to getting shipwrecked to sleuthing on a train to going all Jules Verne de la terre à la lune to descending deep into a sealed palace and battling a demon who possesses Peach? And how it was all interspersed with platforming sections as Bowser and assorted missions as Peach? That game had so much variety and creativity, and it was all executed in such a tight manner and while looking so vivid. Right up there with Metroid Prime and The Wind Waker for best looking GCN game, if not best GCN game full stop. Yeah. I really want to talk about TTYD a lot too, come to think of it. |

Well if we're gonna talk about Thousand Year Door. Will Nintendo actually ever put gamecube games on the virtual console? I tapped out of videogames for a while and skipped almost all of a the DS/gamecube's lifespan. I've played most the stuff I'd want to from that gen due to backwards compatibility but TTYD was one of those games I could never find and always seemed to cost $100+ online. It and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance are the two things I really want to show up on virtual console if they ever do gamecube games. |

Personally I think Nintendo should have put GameCube software on the Wii U years ago. Luigi's Mansion on the Year of Luigi - instant bestseller. It would make sense for them to do it at some point, particularly for rare games such as Paper Mario TTYD and Fire Emblem PoR. The Wii U is capable of playing every other generation of Nintendo software, and the GamePad and Pro Controller have more buttons than the GCN controller so there's no need to worry about games being unplayable or requiring the GCN adapter (though the latter would be rad). (Technically there are already two GCN games on the Wii U Virtual Console - Metroid Prime 1 and 2 as part of the Trilogy Wii software. Put more up, Nintendo!) I really lucked out with finding TTYD in 2005 and FE9 in 2009 - I know I wouldn't be able to do that today. |
