TOUGH BOY
|
"Will Color Splash include any traditional RPG elements like the first two Paper Mario games?" Nintendo: "So you know about the Mario and Luigi games, right? So since we already have that series of games that's more of a straight up RPG, we feel like it would be a shame if we weren't doing something that was more different and that was giving something to the customers. And I think that what people like about those original Paper Mario games was, as you say, the RPG elements, but there was also the colorful characters, the puzzle solving, and the humor. So in the new games we're focusing more on the puzzle solving aspects and the humor"

We want to do new, out there things, which is why we made Paper Mario bland and homogenized. |

Sounds Like A Bodacious Time

What's weird about this is that THEY DID EXACTLY THAT with Super Paper Mario and it was really fucking good. It was a game about colorful characters and good humor, with a great story, and I'd be perfectly okay if that was the direction they went with for the rest of the series. But it's not. I have no idea what they're talking about, because Sticker Star was Toad NPCs and Humorless, and Color Splash doesn't look any different. Seriously, if Color Splash and Sticker Star were actually doing what they say they're doing (which is Super Paper Mario), they'd be DIFFERENT games, but they'd be extremely entertaining. |

According to reports I've heard, Color Splash has predictable gameplay and suprisingly good writing and music. Compared to Sticker Star, that's a heavy step up. |

In Color Splash you meet the Shy Guy that straight up has an existential crisis. That one hit me right in the feels. It definitely has some top writing. Edited by Gallerian, Oct 13 2016, 04:32 AM.
