Well I took Deus' suggestion for my Darkwing Duck creation and got permission from SuperNormal to use Scrooge as the base. Didn't want to mess up the eyes cause they look better than what I could make with my current skill. Spoiler: click to toggle

Remember last year when we were excited for this?
|
Well, it took a good part of my weekend, but I've got another one (or two?) to show off. First, I know he was attempted during the '13 days, but here is The World Ends With You's Pi-faced math nut, Sho Minamimoto: Spoiler: click to toggle How about a match? Spoiler: click to toggle Oh, I did kinda say 2, and he was in that video... Spoiler: click to toggle

Hmm... I think all the face would need is the eyes to angle down towards the nose just a little bit more, and for the chin to be narrowed. You were right in giving him a squarish jaw, since in some of the art I'm getting from GIS it seems like it doesn't come to a standard anime-esque point. But it still has the same angle, so it just needs to come down to a smaller square. The nose is good, the mouth is big enough (maybe a smidgen of lip curl in the corners? If you do, just make sure it's nowhere near the smugness of Gary's). The neck could use some narrowing, but it's not necessary (and isn't part of his face anyway). Otherwise, I can't think of much else that would improve him. Good job. |

Yeah, how pointy to make the chin was a serious question. I got fixated on the pic where his jaw seems to have two points, and made it perhaps too wide as a result. Here's a second try: Spoiler: click to toggle

Ofcourse it looks worse, I'm not trying to copy his Joe by giving it the small body and huge head. Edited by slashkamei, Dec 23 2013, 06:54 PM.

Keep Calm and Get Piss

I think a big problem is that, Joe is very much defined by having a huge head and stubby body proportions. It's part of his character design and identity in that sense. |
