Well, I am a novice at this sorta thing....And I did just get the game today. My main problem was the face. The other clothing was easy, but the face...OY. Trying to figure out the proper skin coloring for some of my ideas isn't easy either... Not to mention I basically did it from scratch... Could someone post a pic of my attempt at Vergil for me? I lack the resources... Edited by DrTempo, Dec 30 2013, 07:56 PM.

That's an amazing Juan and that King looks far better than I thought the game could allow.

Yeah, it is pretty good. Again, sorry I can't post a pic of my Vergil....I know it probably isn't VGCW material yet, but it is good for a newbie to the CAW system, I hope..I can't afford the DLC right now, and I'd just booted it up for the first time....Figured I'd give it the old college try.... |

Yeah, King is the Tekken character we should have had instead of Kazuya and I'd be more than happy to see one of that caliber. I guess there's no glitch-y way to make a snout for him though. |

Hey man, the logo work on the lower half is amazing, I feel like his face needs a little bit a work though. Otherwise, good job so far. |

That King is pretty good, but the logos on his pants need work. It could look a little cleaner. And his face is hilarious(Still needs work. Needs to look more menacing). Again, great King and I didn't think it would be possible to make look good. |

That's a pretty damn good King! You might want to widen his head slightly at the jaw (Upper Line, I think) and make it a bit flatter and shorter (head depth / head height) to get it slightly more cat-shaped. Cats have kinda a wedge-shaped head, so even dropping the cranium height a little might do the trick! |

I use an Elgato capture card for screenshots and videos on the suggestion of a number of other CAW makers. Also, those ellipses make you seem perpetually sad. |

I can't afford a capture card. And those ellipses show how bad I feel...I did try as well as a novice could. I picked Vergil because I figured he'd be relatively easy...Have you seen it yet, Cran? |

Learning to make a good caw since 2k13

I...don't have what he has, I record my video on a dvd...then re-record it on VLC player. It can't record in HD due to the setup, but it works. |

I saw it. It could really stand to be improved. But, considering you only just got the game today like earlier today I think, you shouldn't write yourself off yet. Get yourself a set of good reference images, scroll through all your options, and take the bull by the horns until it moos. Make a point of touching every slider under face and body shape, and that alone will improve any CAW tenfold. |

A) There is a much more appropriate thread for workshopping CAWs. Start there if you're new to CAW creation, and once something is up to snuff in there first, submit it here. (Can this be added to the OP, just so anybody can easily refer to it whenever this thread goes off topic?) B) Don't fool yourself, any CAW with a simple and easy-to-recreate costume is still going to be tough to make. Because the clothes aren't enough to make the CAW recognizable, the face and body will have to be perfect. Face and body proportions are much more difficult to accurately replicate because it involves dozens of sliders that modify everything. Literally millions of combinations of settings exist, and it'll take a lot of time and work getting the right one for each character. This is less important on a cartoonish character (since the disparity is so wide as it is that it's open to interpretation), but on something that has at least some sort of realistic and/or full 3D-rendered source to replicate, it's so much more important. If you want easy, you're better off reimagining a cartoony character with a distinct costume. Picking the right shirt and adding a couple custom logos is a lot easier to handle. C) If you have no way of showing off CAWs here for VGCW, oh well. Sometimes someone else can do it for you, but the few cases that have occurred here came from people who are friendly outside of the forums, and the CAW was of high enough quality to warrant taking the effort. If a CAW isn't good enough for another person to want to take pics for you, try again until you make one that is. Otherwise, please don't clog up the thread. D) If a CAW isn't on 2k14 for PS3, well, it better be easy to replicate with every aspect and detail supplied, and hope it's good enough (or in high enough demand) for someone else to replicate it for you.
