I don't mind PS plus either because I love free stuff that makes the program pay for itself.

If Reginald "Reggie" Fils-Aime was the next Smash Bros reveal, I would not be disappoint.

Reggie for SSB4 would make the Wii U the most purchased console in the fastest time. Nintendo needs to do it.

I think something that has not been addressed by alot of people:

There's very little to nothing coming out that is a must have on the next gen consoles (Wii U, PS4, XboxOne) in 2013. Most of the things people really want wont be out until 2014.

So while some companies did better than others no one made a case for buying their system in 2013. Yes people will buy day one and preorder to do it but there is no real reason to get one this year except if you're a DKC fan on Wii U or if you're just going to be excited having a new console.

Here's my E3 Power Ranking including EA and Ubisoft.
This is by conference, excitement and games:

WARNING! INCOMING WALL OF TEXT.

1. Sony - Sony had what amounted to a late 90's, early 2000's Nintendo conference. They spoke to the gamer. They got a clear message out. They were sincere (whether it was acting or not that's how it appeared) and they looked confident and showed tons of games. They launched an all out assault and it succeeded. Also even if they weren't PS4 Exclusives: Kingdom Hearts 3, FF15 AND MAD MAX! Destiny made me very excited as well.

2. Ubisoft - Ubisoft had shown some great stuff and I don't know about you guys but Aisha Tyler is pretty funny even if she messes up on stage now and then. Watchdogs looked very good. The Division looks extremely interesting and its an interesting concept of an FPS Modern World RPG. This game is extremely near future and looks pretty interesting. The crew looks interesting and of course there was Rayman. All in all it was a very good and adventurous showing and they have some great concepts. This conference had energy.

3. EA - Look I'm not a big EA fan but Sports and Drake on Stage don't do it for me. Yes I know people the world over go crazy for FIFA but to me E3 isn't about Sports games. I was disappointed in no UFC gameplay as well. The Starwars Battlefront reveal was very nice though. Battlefield 4 looks solid. Overall it was not bad. Titanfall of course looks AMAZING. But again too many trailers dragged this one down. But hey Mirror's Edge 2 is coming so let's go jump off roofs and celebrate!

4. Microsoft - It was true before the Sony press conference and its especially true after the Sony press conference. They brought the worst showing. Was no Kinect demos this year a blessing for us viewers? YES. But! Since they are packaging it in with the console this was the one year above all others where they should have showed us the value of that $80-$100 device that we HAVE to buy with our system. They didnt. Big fail there. Next big fail is not addressing the DRM and always online issues. I would have liked them to say look we have a massive pirating problem on Xbox360 this is the only thing we can do to protect ourselves, game developers and you from hackers and bad people.

Microsoft was Underwhelming and way too cautious. There wasn't very much energy until they showed TitanFall. Killer instinct was okay? It was a bit exciting. But the killer was the Price. $499 is too steep for a console in this day and age. I can get an amazing tablet that will do all that tv stuff for the same price and I can take that everywhere and don't always need to be online. For $700USD I can build a computer to last me the next generation of gaming. Microsoft didnt get a message across and didnt address the issues. And for that they get the low spot.

5. Nintendo - Techincally they shouldnt be on this list as they had no conference. But The only thing worse than coming with lackluster stuff and no message is coming with nothing at all. Yes Smash is great. Yes Bayonetta is great. We knew about those since last e3 and before. We were disappointed in yet another damn New Super Mario Bros game. Rare's big game they were working on that everyone supposedly wanted is another Donkey Kong Country? Okay...cool I guess? When will rare work on a new metroid? Next? I really want them to make their own original game IP. That studio is EXTREMELY TALENTED. And they've spent the last 3 years working on another Donkey Kong Country game? UGH. Very dissapointed in all the announcments and worse still EA and Ubisoft are continuing to abandon Wii U along with all other 3rd party publishers and devs. Nintendo needs those killer apps soon and 2014 cant come for them soon enough.

Waiting for new games isn't that big of a deal. I really REALLY wish that Nintendo or Sony released a shit ton of games in the Summer. In my opinion, it would make them so much more successful since Summer is always the dead time of waiting until Christmas/Thanksgiving. I don't get how any other developer would look past this for years.

As far as your outlooks on the conferences, I really didn't enjoy the Ubi conference. Sure, it was kind of fresh and entertaining; but it just got old quick. The shot fired to the internet was cute, but not as strong as I wanted it to be.

EA conference was pretty shit. It was just 80% Sports 15% Shooters and 5% Mirror's Edge 2 reveal.

Microsoft's conference was kind of upsetting. They basically solidified themselves in last place forever. I honestly see Microsoft going the Sega route in terms of Consoles.

Sony's conference was good, but overrated. Sure, they made it that they won, but at what cost? It took a while for it to even start and I feel like there should have been more exclusives. But, that's just me.

Ubisoft's single handedly had the very worst thing in any of the conferences.

A Fucking RABBID Cartoon? Plus how they showed it, oh my god they can't be serious about that.

I hadnt died on the inside like that since that 1 pre-show match I hate remembering.

It's Retro Studios that's developing DKCTF. Rare's still stuck in Microsoft limbo.

I visited a Best Buy showing off the E3 Wii U demos yesterday and was kind of disappointed. Mario 3D World is paced like a handheld game and is a bit glitchy. DKCTF is just like Returns, which is great because Returns is awesome, but it was way too easy and forgiving. WW HD had a couple moments of lag, which is very disconcerting for the console's future if it's having trouble with fucking Wind Waker. Really only MK8 impressed because there seems to be a bigger focus on racing, rather than getting lucky with powerups since all I saw were banana peels, green and red shells, and mushrooms.

Bayonetta 2 running at a locked 60 frames, and X's ridiculous beauty should allay some concerns over the WiiU's potential in terms of technical capability.

I would imagine any hitches with Wind Waker being mostly a symptom of dragging over all the GameCube-era code and strapping it to more modern architecture and various other developmental kinks.

You would have to be a complete fool to not have Microsoft at last place. At least Nintendo has interesting stuff that's exclusive to their console. The best game shown in Microsoft's conference was MGSV, and that's also on the PS4.

Yeah, MS really only had Multi-plats to fall back on. KI3 and DR 3 won't save the horrid PR Microsoft has had in this week alone. With them having employees hounding others at Best Buy to play the Xbone and with Dan Mattrick saying stupid shit about Xbox 360, I don't see MS getting anything more than last place.

More sizzle than a rasher of bacon.
So I got in another Nintendo World visit for the E3 games. I tried out Mario Kart 8, it's looking okay so far. I feel like the couple of stages I played could have taken a little better advantage of the antigravity concept, but the last one (a Boo house) was very interesting. I'd like to see more like that one.

I also played Super Mario 3D World, but I didn't really enjoy it as much. Could be because I got paired up with someone who had already played it before and he seemed to have unrealistic expectations for someone playing it for the first time. First level I used the Wiimote, it's really awkward to use the D-pad here for a 3D game. I don't know if it'll use the Nunchuk or what, but Wiimote standalone...meh. The WiiU pad was better since there was an analog, but the game still felt pretty...slippery? Maybe it just takes some getting used to. It is a demo after all. We'll see come December.

Sony definitely took the conference with their public flogging of Microsoft. Usually it's one of the companies killing themselves, it's really rare to see one company so directly just destroying the other one.

Nintendo had DKCR2, which I personally am very excited for, though most people wanted another game from Retro. Smash 4 I can't say I'm excited about either when they see fit to add Wii Fit Trainer. The rest is just remakes and the usual cookie cutter Mario titles.

Yea clerical error. Did anyone actually go to any of these stores and see any lines or crowds around the Wii U E3 demo SKU? I'm curious as to if these demos are actually getting played in the stores or if people are just walking by them and only the occasional kid on them. I don't like that strategy in this day and age. It worked in the mid 90's because Nintendo brought with fans and air conditioning to Wal-Mart Parking lots in the summer where you could stand in the shade and play stuff like starfox and what have you.

That got attention.

There was a massive line where I was at, and yeah, there were more than a few kids and their moms around, but a lot of the people there were really only there because of the demos. Anecdotal, I know, but it's something.
