Thought I would go ahead and make a thread about video game music, I've always been a HUGE fan of video game music(comes with being a jRPG fan B-) )

Im gonna post some of my favs here I guess

Terranigma - the departure best overworld theme ever

brawl mix of Go K.K. Rider! I still can't believe a song this good came from animal crossing, it better make a return in the new smash, ESPECIALLY with the villager playable

Sonic generations mix of seaside hill probably one of my favorite sanic songs, up there with Flying battery zone

Pictionary - Title Screen Seriously intense music for such an unlikely game.

Jet Set Radio - Concept of Love UNDERSTAND. UNDERSTAND. Jet Set Radio has a great soundtrack of original compositions and licensed songs

XBand - BGM 3 Pretty good music for an online interface.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - Normal Battle Shoji Meguro does good work that has an immediately recognizable style.

A genre Ive noticed that doesn't get credit where credit is due in the music department is RTS.
Ive been Listening to a lot of Emperor:Battle for Dune lately, because why not?

Ride the Worm
Victory is Inevitable
Not an Option

Rest in Peace Westwood Studios. I will always remember ;_;>
(Die in a Fire EA)

Unrelated to above, but because I want to just unwind sometimes, I usually just listen to Planet Wisp sometimes cause.

VVVVVV - Potential for Anything Really anything from VVVVVV is amazing, it's worth buying the game just for the music. This is probably my favorite track out of it though.

Shatter - Kinetic Harvest Another game worth it for the music alone.

DKC 2 - Stickerbush Symphony The feeling of exploration this song gives off is amazing.

FF6 - Celes Theme Sad sh*t yo

Sunset Park Zone: Act 3; Sonic Triple Trouble
One of my favorite videogame tracks of all time, and made owning a Game Gear so much more worth it as a child, just to listen to this song on repeat for hours non-end.

Danger (Boss Theme) - Secret of Mana - Honestly, one of my favorite boss themes in the history of ever.

Frontline Base - UN Squadron - One of those lesser known SNES-era Capcom gems, the entire game just has phenomenal music. This is just the FIRST stage.

Still in the Dark (remix) - Guilty Gear X/XX - This isn't quite the in-game version, but still probably my favorite fighting game track of all time. Just an epic confrontation theme.

Pursuit ~ Lying Coldly - Ace Attorney Investigations - This might sound like heresy, but I think this is the best Pursuit theme out of the entire series, yes, even the iconic first one.

Speaking of Phoenix Wright music (which is really all great), this is probably my "Allegro" theme in the series (though I guess it technically isn't an Allegro theme but oh well): Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth - Confrontation - Presto

Also, anybody like Mega Man music? I'm really partial to remixes from the games because they often sound really good. Here's a cool, slowed down version of Dive Man's Theme courtesy of OC Remix (who put out phenomenal stuff btw; if you haven't checked them out, do it now).

Also, there's this person who re-does most of the songs from other Mega Man game's using Mega Man 7's sound. For those that don't know, MM1-6 were all done in 8 bit, including the tracks. MM7 was the first in the series to drop the style and go to 16-bit(?) until MM9 brought back the 8-bit. They all are pretty well done for the most part and there are very few I'm not fond of (Needle Man's track sounds a bit off to me at the beginning of his).

EDIT

Just thought of another good one: Zombies Ate My Neighbours - Pyramid of Fear. Great game, great soundtrack.

I didn't include any MM music in my post because almost everyone knows MM music, and I wanted to spread around some of the lesser stuff. Plus it's hard for me to pinpoint my favorites for Megaman stuff.

Other choice comments:

"I envy the deaf"

"This is like the soundtrack to a seizure"

"R2D2 Smoking space weed"

"Dial_up_modem_giving_birth_to_an_epileptic_robot.mp3"

"I like to fall asleep to this music at night. Sooner or later I'm not going to wake up, but that's the thrill of the stunt."

And obligatory Basement theme.

Now for some pallet cleansers:

Metal Slug X - Living on the Deck

Castlevania the Arcade - Demon Castle Dracula Super Sweep Mix (I didn't even know there was an arcade Castlevania, and it has one of the best tracks. Go figure.)

Zombies Ate My Neighbors - Chainsaw Hedgemaze Massacre / Boss Theme

Zombies Ate My Neighbors - Curse of the Tongue

Alice - Wonderland Woods

All that awesome Ghost Trick music and no 4 minutes before Death, Fate Updated, or Countdown? For shame.
