Shit I've got all these memories coming back to me now. I FEEL EVERYTHING, I KNOW EVERYTHING! Uh, anyway, 2 racing classics from my childhood: Destruction Derby 64 - This was basically Burnout before Burnout was ever a thing, let alone a series. The premise: You race each other. The twist: You can wreck other cars (including your own!) and completely disable them, essentially knocking them out of the race for good. It takes a fair bit of damage to happen, but if you focus on one or two cars long enough (hi players 2 and 3), you can do it no problem. In true demolition derby fashion, there's a uh, well, demolition derby mode which is basically what it sounds like: smash up the other cars and be the last car standing. Always good fun, but you could kind of cheese it by using the Ambulance which had a stupid amount of health and hit HARD (its only issue is that its slow as fuck, so its terrible for racing). Also included is a hot potato type mode where someone starts with the bomb and has to pass it off by ramming into dudes. Really good multiplayer game, not so much single-player wise but it wasnt too bad. Beetle Adventure Racing. Holy fuck did I ever love this game, even if it's a giant Volkswagen plug. Basically, the idea is that you race a whole bunch of people in Punch Buggies. However, what made it interesting was the tracks/shortcuts/exploring (hence the "Adventure" portion of the title). Levels included an island with an active volcano (that you naturally race through / jump over), a haunted wooded area, and a frozen highway / mountain / cave area. What really got me on this game was the exploring portion. It's really rare in a racing game to have shortcuts that are so incredibly vivid and have "action" to them (the first level has one where you jump THROUGH a barge instead of just plain ol' driving down the main road. I really need to emphasize this though; the shortcut/exploration portions were HUGE and there were lots of them. They often held special things you could collect to unlock cheats and new arenas for Battle mode multiplayer. Speaking of multiplayer, yhere was also a multiplayer racing and aforementioned battle mode that I don't recall too much of. You had to collect 7 different colored lady bugs to win, but there was weapons and stuff that you could use to fight against other dudes. I do remember it being fun though. Excitebike 64 was a hidden gem to me. Plenty of circuits and some fun extras. You could also play the classic Excitebike track in 3D and they even packed in a track creator. |

I freaking loved Excitebike 64. That was a really fun racing game with lots of customization options. That was a rare thing back in the day. I need to play that again. |

NFL Blitz- Use to play this all the time with my uncle. He would get pissed off all the time when I intercepted the ball from him. It was also fun to have your entire team tackle 1 guy at the end of a play too. Here is some gameplay: Edited by Nathorus, Jun 27 2013, 03:52 PM.

Man, forgot all about that. Such a great game. Speaking of, this game is essentially the NFL Blitz of the hockey world: Wayne Gretzkey's 3D Hockey. I don't ever remember any other sports game where your goalie could turn into a brick wall or you could set the net on fire by shooting at it hard enough. Not to mention the fights were always fun too. Good times. |

NFL Blitz was a game I played relentlessly. I wish all sports games were like that. They would have been so much more fun. |

Blitz was fucking awesome. Played the shit out of it when the pizza place had a cabinet up. Speaking of Midway titles, you know what I don't see get talked about? NBA Hangtime. Seriously. The N64 port is quite possibly the best port of this particular arcade game ever released, for one reason: no load times. |

I loved the hell out of Beetle Adventure Racing and Mischief Makers. Who remembers Chameleon Twist? You were a mutated chameleon who had the power to have a really long tongue that you could use for pretty much everything. Edited by Illuminated Minutia, Jun 27 2013, 06:21 PM.

Beetle Adventure racing was a fun little racing game. Nothing real new but it had a fun charm to it that made it really enjoyable. Chameleon Twist was a fun game from what I remember. I need to play that again too. |

Space Station Silicon Valley was another fun one. You were a little microchip and you jumped into different robot animals. Some of them were normal like sheep or apes and some of them were ridiculous like dogs with wheels for feet and missile batteries on their torsos. |

Very great choice. I absolutely loved this game so much. Just had a perfect charm to it. Fun levels and just a weird but great premise to a game. |
