A moment of silence for one of Capcom's greatest franchises.; Remember the Mega Man Legends 3 that could have been.

ARE YOU REALLY FEELING IT, BROTHER?!
Today marks the two-year anniversary of the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3. At VGCW, we may know it as the day Mega Man became Cancelled Man. However, to fans of the franchise, it was a tragedy of so much greater magnitude. ;_;7

Yeah Capcom because we didn't want ANOTHER great title on the 3DS. No no that's not what I wanted at all...

Upsetting since I always loved the Mega Man series even though I didn't play Legends. Oh well.

Capcom - "WE NEED ANOTHER UPDATE TO SF4 BECAUSE WE JUST DO".
"But, what about Mega Man? You know, the series that got you bastards this much popularity?"
Capcom - "WHAT'S THAT? YOU WANT HIM IN A CRAPPY CROSS OVER GAME? SURE."

Do Capcom seriously think that people only care about their fighters? They have no confidence in their other key franchises in the West for some ass-backwards reason.

Perhaps the most depressing thing is that whenever Capcom teases something Megaman-related, it just ends up being a figurine, or a soundtrack, or a VC release, or basically anything that gets them out of making a new game.

It's like GEEZ.

Been under a rock since S4
I've sort of moved on after, like, 6 months the day it got cancelled. It sucked and MML3 was pretty much the only reason I got the 3DS in the first place, but you learn to deal with it.

I still would've at least liked to have seen the eShop Prototype they were gonna release in action though. Oh well...

Man, as someone who literally grew up playing the Mega man games (mostly X but some of the originals too), it's super depressing to see Capcom basically just throw one away one of their best (and recognizable) franchises. At this rate, Mega man is essentially going to wind up like Morrigan: had a good few games, but is pretty much only used for cross-overs or as a "guest character" in other games. I really don't get where Capcom is coming from on this, especially since Mega man 9 & 10 apparently sold well (or well enough that Capcom stated they were "happy" with the sales). Then they go an axe Legends 3. Like, the fuck?

Ok, let's see, what franchises do Capcom still care about? Hmmm... Street Fighter.... And that's it. As much as I really love DmC: Devil May Cry, that doesn't even count since it wasn't even developed by Capcom, they just fucking published it. It's obvious from E3 that they ABSOLUTELY do not give a fuck about Dead Rising, which didn't take very long, I mean, there's literally only 2 games out and they already stopped caring.
I don't play Darkstalkers, but I can tell how little they care about that series, like, Ok, you can be in Marvel VS Capcom, cool, that counts as a new game for you.

At this point I just stopped giving a shit about Capcom's lack of fucks to give

Capcom does need to get their crap together. Their bad business practices are catching up to them. They are killing off their own franchises. Yes they are coming out with a strider game but thats more of a they don't have a choice than bringing back something fans want. Megaman is dead, Darkstalkers is dead, Resident Evil is on its last legs, etc etc.

Matt Dahlgren recently said that, "Darkstalkers Resurrection did not perform as well as we would have liked [it] to perform. You never know what the future may hold, but Street Fighter is definitely not dead."

No one is worried about street fighter being dead. Hands down it is the fighting game of choice worldwide. But its capcom's fault for reburying DarkStalkers. You want to hit 5 million copies sold in sales and then you'll consider a new game? Say so then and maybe people would make it happen. Also I like how capcom is not saying how many copies of the game (which when it boils down to it is just a rerelease of a FIFTEEN AND SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD GAME) were sold. I mean really what were they expecting? Especially when people can just play those games on arcade emulator and have been doing that for years.

Don't even get me started on them not bringing ace attorney investigations 2 stateside. For all the costs of simply publishing and translating a game even if you only made $1 million in profit the amount of bad press and fan love you would receive is well worth a measly 7 figure profit.

I can't really say there's a capcom game I'm excited about. Their inhouse developement isn't that great and the people they get to do their games in the west aren't that great either (While the new DmC may have been a solid game I don't really like it as much as the other games).

Time will tell but capcom has a way to go to return to its former glory if it can do that at all.

I thought they cared about Resident Evil. Then I played Resident Evil 6.

And the weird thing is that RE: Revelations is actually good. Why wasn't that team in charge of design direction for RE 6?

I played The Game and got stuck with Dunn for a month.
Why do I suddenly feel like the reason they did all they've done to Mega Man since MM10 was due to his creator leaving Capcom, and the company holding a grudge against him and his work ever since for doing so?

Maybe it's not the case, but to be honest, kinda feels like that in a way.
