A moment of silence for one of Capcom's greatest franchises.; Remember the Mega Man Legends 3 that could have been.

If I've learned anything about Japan, is that it's lunatic fringe will go fug-buck the moment anyone steps out of line like Inafune did fantastically by running away from Capcom as fast as his legs could take him (Inafune is a very big opponent of the Japanese Games industry, basically saying that it can't be arsed to try anything new or difficult) and kneecapping the Blue Bomber was the easiest way for Capcom Japan to lash out at him without making it obvious as much.

I love Japan at times, it's made a lot of cool things, but damn if sometimes it doesn't come off as having it's head stuck in roughly the same time period in which Nobunaga ruled at the best of times.

What pisses me off about the whole thing is that Inafune is NOT the creator of Mega Man and at many times is and was no better than the people in Capcom's high chairs.

It's a game of simple immaturity.

Why do I suddenly feel like the reason they did all they've done to Mega Man since MM10 was due to his creator leaving Capcom, and the company holding a grudge against him and his work ever since for doing so?

Maybe it's not the case, but to be honest, kinda feels like that in a way.
I like to imagine that he was literally the only one who still cared about the franchise, and as soon as he left everyone just through the fucks out the window

Explain how he isn't one of the Creators of Rockman? Because you're essentially saying that Stan Lee didnt create spiderman because Steve Ditko drew him.

Akira Kitamura drew the art and was a designer on the first 2 games. Kenji Inafune came up with the name Rockman and other things about him.

Edit:

This was just posted by Gregaman a Capcom USA employee about the Megaman Legends 3 cancellation: http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/30011845/so-it-has-now-officially-been-years-since-mega-man-legends-3-was-cancelled?post_num=104#534146837

Still not mentioning why exactly the game was canceled or who at capcom felt it would be a good idea to cancel the game in the development process. As far as I'm concerned they did far more damage to the Capcom brand by canceling the game than completing a bad game and losing a bit of money for it. I would argue they've lost more money than they would have even if the game flopped the worst it could have from all the bad fan reaction to every single capcom game that's come out since.

I don't think anyone at capcom really understands just what they did by canceling this game.

"And consider its place within the greater Mega Man brand. If you thought DmC was a deviation from the Devil May Cry brand, remember that MML (MmL?) changed virtually everything you could possibly change about Mega Man. "

How can anyone at Capcom possibly believe they are protecting a "Brand" by cancelling all the games for said brand? That's an insane amount of turning a blind eye.

">Why where fans mislead about the Prototype coming out?

It was unintentional and that's all I'll say about it. There was never an attempt to mislead anybody. "

Except for the fact that they went on Japanese television several times to promote a demo and I'd have to watch the videos of said showcase but I'm pretty sure they gave a timeframe for a demo.

There's also this : "Although Inafune was searching for a team to finish Legends 3 Capcom refused Inafune's offer."

Several Japanese companies actually offered to complete the game with no strings attached and Capcom said no and continues to say no. This is the biggest slap in the face of all the fans.

I love how Comcept isn't even pretending that this isn't basically Not-Mega Man.

This'll probably be the first and only Kickstarter crowdfund I'll back.

The first part is funded. I think the final goal will be $3,200,000 for PS4 and Xboxone support. I hope it makes it. Spread the word! My only worry is their initial asking point was way too low. But we'll see. Megaman is back!
