Doesn't bother me. It isn't replacing the 3DS and as far as I know they aren't making games just for the 2DS so I don't care. I agree that this seems stupid. I still want a 3DS XL and that's what I'm gonna get. Nice try Nintendo.

It's a different-shaped 3DS with the primary but least important gimmick removed. There's nothing inherently wrong with that. I do think that removing the clamshell design is going to bite them, though, since that keeps your screens from getting busted, but there will probably be some kind of accompanying case. |

that's right snake

If it's cheaper, then it makes a lot of sense. Not everyone can even see 3D images, and for someone like me with jobber eyes, the effect can be uncomfortable or disorienting. |

OBJECTION!

Why is it called ''2DS''? There are still people who are confused by the 3DS because they think that it's just another restyling of the DS, the 2DS will confuse them even more. |

There are fewer people confused by "3DS" than by "Wii U", and the difference is more moot since the 3DS and presumably the 2DS play 3DS and DS games alike. |

Okay I made some jokes about the 2DS but I wanna talk more serious about it now. Do I like the 2DS and want one? No. Do I think it's a stupid decision and the death of Nintendo? No but apparently some people do. Seriously everyone put down the pitchforks and relax. Nintendo is hitting the casual market with the 2DS. I know some say that the 3DS itself is casual enough but in all honestly, the 3DS did a great job at targeting all markets in casual and hardcore. I see from Nintendo's point of view the reasoning behind the 2DS. Some didn't like the 3D so they got rid of it if it really bothered them, although I don't know why they don't just turn off the 3D but that'a another story. I still don't want one and I still want a 3DS XL and that's another thing too. This might mean a price drop for the 3DS XL, at least that's what I'm hoping and with the market of games they have now and coming out in the future for it, a price drop would cement it as a must have. I can't get mad or annoyed at something that could necessary be a good thing for all parties. I'm still gonna be positive. Those are my thoughts. Be happy, keep on smiling and have a great day/night everyone. ![]() EDIT: When I said put down the pitchforks everyone I didn't mean anyone here. Just some ramblings I've seen from people. It's a cheap sturdy handheld for parents to buy their kids when Pokemon comes out. That's pretty much it. 2DS is a stupid as hell name, though. |

It's meant for kids bellow age of 7 and so. I would wish it'd have bigger screen though, I could actually buy it. |

^This. I know it may sound and look stupid but just think about this from a marketing perspective. It's a handheld console that costs only $120, but has most of the features of the normal version, a huge library of quality titles from both the ds/3ds lineup, it's hard to break and it's releasing at the same time as the new 3d Pokemon games. For people only interested in the new Pokemon games or is buying one for their young children this thing is perfect. |

Looking over the internets, there sure is a lot of outrage over a product not aimed at the outraged... |
