Ganondorf was only double champion for a single night though -- the same night in which he became double champion, winning the tag belts and losing the main one. As such, we never really got to see that play out. |

NOPE.

Snake could be an okay exception since I think of Salvation Ops as Jensen's team first and foremost. He isn't hogging the limelight nearly as much as he used to. |

I have a strong stance against double champions. It's not necessarily because of a talent's ability to carry two divisions or to be worthy of having such prestige so much as it is about the titles, themselves, though. I like to think that the titles carry so much weight that, if you're going for one, that is it. That's your goal. Which title do you value over the other if you're a Co-Op Champion and the VGCW Champion? It seems easier and cleaner to me if a title monopolizes its champion, allowing that person and that title to become, for the time being, synonymous. Then the other titles can be the same for other champions. Especially with the VGCW and Co-Op Titles, I'd prefer to think of them as having about the same weight, and then the Casual Title is inherently subservient the VGCW Title, anyway, so in a lot of ways, there really isn't a need to compete for more than one. From a kayfabe standpoint, it makes more sense for you to only be eligible for one at a time. |

Mn. It's really all contextual. Chelle annoyed me because she's boring and has no character, so seeing her rise up to this monster that squashes people was just... well, in a way it worked, because "it's always the quiet ones", and that added some edge, but... a lot of the time I was just, "I understand that portal is a great game, but why is she even taking up a character slot?" Probably my least favorite wrestlelady. With Ganon, again, he won one and lost one. With Red, he literally won a rumble. I always feel like the whole POINT of having a rumble is "Anyone can win", and especially, with Red, any chance he gets a shot at the big one, I remember his earlier days of ass-kicking and feel "Yeah, he deserves this shot." And also, he didn't actually win. AVGN was one of my top 5. So him being double champ wouldn't have bothered me. It might have turned the storyline in a completely different direction. He also had to compete in an Elimination chamber with Gabe, Protoman, Duke, Bowser, and Phoenix. I feel like anyone who comes out of that gauntlet deserves the strap. Incidentally, Protoman was considered the least likely to win going in and was the guy who did it. AVGN was monster-tier. I miss him and Gabe every episode. We need another "Real dude" on the roster other than just Arino. I think Prozach has the right idea about Snake. I wouldn't mind him having both belts, because he's the supporting half of the duo. Also, Snake is the hardest worker in the business, so it's unlikely he'd take one belt more seriously than another. Hell, Snake doesn't even seem to take non-title matches less seriously. He knows how to entertain. Flip the scenario and say both straps are on Air or Break man. I actively like that as a concept, because it plays very well into Break Man's narrative. There's plenty of good story to be done there. The belt is a big part of the mystique of this setting, but it's not the only thing. Guys like Phoenix aren't lessened by not having it. Scorpion/Red I was the greatest match this product has put out and the belt wasn't even involved. ~~~ Or the short version: Do I think a specific random event lessens my fun over what is essentially a random event simulator? Naw. |

Well, we're going to need a casual contender for Endgame. Any thoughts? Here's a possible matchup: Heavy vs. Professor Layton vs. Flint Layton's been on a roll, and Flint just won a match against Phoenix. Both would make for good contenders. Heavy's also been doing well in singles, but his real draw is the story implications of a feud with former teammate Groose. Honestly, I'd just make it Groose vs. Heavy for the Casual Title. The story has pretty much written itself. But if there has to be a contender's match, the above matchup would be great. |

Flint's won 5 singles matches in a row, the last two being Dante and Phoenix Wright. He isn't ready for a main title shot yet because he just recently got a Casual match, but another win and he should be aiming for the big belt. |

Flint just got a contenders match, I'd lay off on him. I'd just go with Heavy vs. Groose for storytelling reasons. Next season, I'd kick things off with Bison vs. Layton for a casual opportunity. |

Sometimes, it's better to give someone a title shot for better storytelling. |

Yeah, Layton is due a shot....next season. Just give us Groose vs Heavy. It'll be a great match and it's perfect for the storyline. |

I do believe a rematch of Flint vs Layton, extreme rules match would be great next season. The Slayton probably didn't like the pain he received from that familly man who's not even an intelectual, more of a strong and courageous type of guy. |

Heavy should be the de-facto contender. It's just good story-telling! Flint should be in main title contention, he's been so impressive lately. Maybe in the first No.1 Contender's match of Season X1. Slayton is a lock for casuals next season, and like Flint should be in the first No.1 Contender's match of Season X1, but he's better suited for the midcard belt unless he gets a really really impressive win. |

Commented elsewhere, but I really think people oversell the victories of undercarders and former undercarders. Momentum is like motivation, fleeting, and I'd be a lot less inclined to throw someone in the deep end for beating a bunch of midcarders and a highcarder one time than someone who is more demonstrably consistent, like Groose. Elsewise, we get another Jade. |

What's wrong with Jade? She's a former Female Division champ. |

I wouldn't say she got pushed in over her head, or undeservingly. To get that shot she had to beat Lucina, no mean feat, and then Lightning, who she had lost to by the slimmest of margins last time. Then she beat Cate, which speaks for itself. She did lose it in the rematch but in a match a lot of people agreed shouldn't have happened, and she hasn't lost her heat or crowd support the same way Tifa has.
