I think Red needs to win another single match at least before contenting. He has just come off the tag belt, his last singles win was back at the start of last season (even if it was against Jensen), and his four way match was against all low carders. Edited by Woodywoo01, Nov 30 2016, 01:44 PM.

The contenders for the main belt are sorted and we're likely two episodes away from the midseason PPV. With that said, I've been struggling to think about who would challenge Wily and the Mavericks come then, as from my perspective the field in both the Co-Op and Casual divisions are rather open far as contendership is concerned. Can't see Flint challenging for the Casual belt due to being tied up with SOP, and the only team with any momentum by default is Fisherman's Horizon. |

NOPE.

Scorpion should reconsider his breakup and reteam with cage like nothing ever happened since they had the most momentum for a team at the time. (I'm...partially joking) |

Speaking of Cage, I suppose getting a win over the Miz now that he's IC champion again might warrant a a consideration. Part of me wants to include Layton, but he'll probably need more than a win over Kanji to pad his case. |

Why would Flint not be considered for a contender match? Sho had a title match and he's tied to SOP too. Toh & Co can write with it. |

Flint vs Billy Lee for casuals maybe? Also I'm curious as to why Armstrong isn't injecting himself into the VGCW title picture, especially with Bowser wanting a shot. All he had to do was say that he's beaten the current champ and Bowser. Edited by Soundwave, Dec 6 2016, 11:56 PM.

A rose, by any other name...

Armstrong likely has bigger designs than competing for titles, is what I would assume would be the both in- and out-of-kayfabe reasoning. Alternatively, he may just be saving his spot for later. |

Considering Billy's most recent non tag team win was in a triple threat tables match against Waluigi and Raijin in the previous season, I don't see that happening. Flint is without a doubt a serious contender for the title, but I think there needs to be a few more matches before someone else pops up. As for Armstrong, I can only guess that he has other ambitions outside of the Championship (Gary's job). Edited by DrMarble1, Dec 7 2016, 12:06 AM.

Raiden could maybe make a claim for casuals but he's got his match with Groose already booked, if he wins that I'd say he'd definitely be a good choice for a contender's match with Flint on the go home show, only real concern is he's still new and untested enough to know whether casuals is where he belongs, but with how strong Wily looks right now maybe that's not a problem. |

I'd say, if he we really need to rush it along, maybe Flint vs the winner of Groose/Raiden, although that runs the risk of handing the belt back to a guy who had it pretty recently. Then again, Groose was a really good casual champion, so I wouldn't exactly be heartbroken if he got another run. |

Groose deserves the rub from Wily tbh. |

I suppose Groose isn't out of the question. He did recently pick up a win over Edgeworth, and a win over Raiden, who has already shown that he is pretty tough, could boost his stock even more. The only thing preventing that is if TOH feels its been since he was last Champion.

Second-to-last champion. Heavy did have a defenseless run. |

And if Raiden wins it, would anyone be opposed to him having a shot at contendership? I know he's really new, but he seems like a solid worker. |

I wouldn't be opposed to that, and I do prefer that newer wrestlers try and chase after the Casual belt and wait until going for the VGCW title until they are more established *coughkanjicough*. However, I have a feeling he might end up playing an important role in the main storyline this season, so him getting tangled up in the title picture might not happen no matter how good he does. |
