here is my question, where was Scorpion in that fatal 4 way? He's been on a roll since 5-5 and still no title shot yet. |

He got involved with Gary Oak's client unfortunately. His rank might be a bit too high for casual at the moment. |

With the Royal Rumble at an end, it's time to dust off this thread and make some predictions. Though Waluigi has clinched his position as the Casual Champion, it's hard to tell at this point who his challenger will be. There's been quite a bit of bloat around the 1100-1200 range of the power rankings, which is the traditional "blind spot" for wrestlers who aren't quite main event material yet, but might be a little too good for the Casual scene. That, or it's filled with top-tier wrestlers in a slump, who are in danger of falling to the mid-card with another loss. We might need another show to gauge who the most likely Casual challengers are. However, the Main Title competitors are a little easier to predict. So I can make a prediction as to who the winner of the Protoman vs. Wily match will end up facing next: Duke Nukem vs. Scorpion vs. Ganondorf vs. Phoenix Wright Duke and Scorpion are the biggest locks for the next #1 Contender match, in my opinion. After taking down the Goliath that was Illidan, Scorpion has proved that he's more than ready for a title shot. And if the Duke vs. Guile feud has concluded, then it's safe to say the Duke has proven himself the true American. If Ganondorf manages to beat Guile next week, then he'll be in prime position to launch himself toward a contender shot. He's been due for a shot for a while. And Phoenix is also deserving of another title shot, as well. Honorable mentions include AVGN, Little Mac, and Vegeta. AVGN is second-ranked on the power rankings, but has had a lot of title shots recently and may need a break. Mac is in a similar spot(being ranked fifth), but he may have had enough time to go for the belt once more. Vegeta has had a solid singles record recently, and may end up sneaking into the contender's match if Duke or Ganon get tied up with feuds. Edited by Wyvernil, Mar 29 2014, 02:53 PM.

With the Wily vs Proto match coming next, it's going to be a little while before the next #1 contender's match I wager. Anything can happen between now and then. I do agree on Duke, Phoenix, and Scorps. Ganon may be tied up in other stuff, don't know yet. Then there are the guys just below who haven't had a shot in awhile: Mac, Groose, Badman, Haggar, Donkey Kong, and maybe even Nappa. They could all use 1 more match to see if they can make in the contenders match. |

I honestly can't really picture who'll be facing Waluigi. Like Wyvernil said, it's tough to determine who's really a midcarder right now. I can't think of anyone who's done well enough lately to get a shot at the Casual Belt either, so it'll probably take a few shows until we have a potential contender. Maybe Badman could have a shot, but he's always seemed to aim for the main belt. I agree that Duke, Scorpion, and Phoenix are the most likely contenders for the main belt, but I don't think Ganon has a shot just yet. He's coming off a loss and has yet to wrestle this season, so beating Guile would only net him a single win. Granted, he did get some wins in Season 6 that were overshadowed by the feud with Duke, but it's a little hard to picture a single win getting him into a contenders match after a long absence. I guess it depends on how tough someone thinks Guile is. I'd say that Guile actually has potential, but he'll need to beat Ganon to jump the final hurdle and become a contender. His demanding of a shot at the title means he probably won't be given one, so it all hinges on if he can beat Ganon and ride the win and subsequent hype. With the match he had with Duke this week, I think Guile actually stands a chance. Edited by Fireball Spam, Mar 29 2014, 03:24 PM.

Casual Championship Contenders;
I didn't include Snake because I think he's too high-ranked for the Casual Belt, and he's been on a winning streak since beating Octodad last season, so I'll bet he'll be going for the gold. Co-Op Championship Contenders;
Sonic & Knuckles could also be an option to replace either. Edited by HereComesTheChief, Apr 8 2014, 01:01 PM.

Co-op - & vs & Shadaloo and Safety Valve had recent victories over the Dragons making them likely for #1 Contenders. the only other one I would say would be up is Sonic and Knuckles for beating the DK Crew, but I'll go with this prediction. Casuals - Gray Fox vs vs vs Kind of hard to predict this one, I think Eggman with his recent victory over Segata might get him in the Contenders match. Fox beat Barkley, but I don't know if that is enough. Falcon hasn't beat anyone lately, but he has been putting on some great matches so it might have earned him a shot. Barret beat Knuckles a little while ago and not much else, was kind of thinking of Dracula but maybe that would be Edit: HOLY SHIT CHIEF! SYNC Edited by Icicle7x3, Apr 8 2014, 12:52 PM.

Looks like Protoman has proven that he's not a paper champion after all. Then again, Wily isn't exactly championship material to begin with. And we've just got confirmation that Sonic will be cashing in the briefcase on his next title defense! So, who will that next title defense be? As many others have mentioned before, I think there's three definite locks for the position. The tricky part is the fourth slot. So here's my next prediction: Duke Nukem vs. Phoenix Wright vs. Scorpion vs. Solid Snake. The first three are the locks for reasons that have been gone over many times before. As for other possibilities? Sonic just beat Vegeta to get a big bump in the rankings, but he's got the MitB, and he's already stated his intention to cash it in on the next title defense. Thus, it's unlikely he'll be in the contender's match. The Ganondorf vs. Guile fight is probably going to get pushed to Endgame, so Ganon's out of the running for a title shot. Mac and Haggar are also possibilities, but haven't really gotten many matches lately. Gabe still has the highest power ranking, but it might still be too soon for him to jump into a contender's match. That just leaves Snake. Snake's got a pretty good singles record so far, and we could get some potential plot out of him and Phoenix challenging for the same title shot. Maybe give him a match against someone like DK or Dracula to give him a bump toward title contention. |

In light of the latest broadcast, it's time to make some revisions to the #1 contender prediction card. Here's my new prediction. Phoenix Wright vs Scorpion vs Solid Snake vs Little Mac. Apparently, Duke's still got some beef to roast with Ganon, so he'll probably be sitting this contender's match out. So who will take his place? Haggar just suffered an embarrassing loss to Tingle, so he's probably not ready to jump back into the title game. Gabe just dropped the belt at the start of the season, and the Nerd's had plenty of chances already. I'll give the nod to Mac this time, due to his winning the table match today. It seems like it could be time for the Youngblood to have another chance. Edited by Wyvernil, Apr 15 2014, 07:29 PM.

Well, it looks like some of those predictions are right as the night is tonight, and we have a contender match between Phoenix, Scorpion and Snake. Will VGCW enter the Age of the Law? Will Snake climb the ladder? Will Scorpion choke again or be free of his curse? Find out tonight. |
