I could see maybe Kefka getting a shot, but he's been pretty mediocre lately.

Kefka is undefeated in 1vs1. And unless I'm totally forgetting something he has only been pinned once during a triple threat. (Mac pinned him) And he's in top ten power rankings after last VGCW, unless I'm miscalculating he's placed at either 9th or even 8th. :sheesh: shootin'em'up :smellyalater:

Real Asian Russian, right here.
As I said before, Scorpion again and again proves himself worthy of shot at any title (Remember humiliation of Barkley with 17 count count-out?), but for some reason he loses when it counts.
But maybe, just maybe if he has one more chance, he will win the title.

Frankly, I feel that what should happen is The Winner of the Match between Airman and DK should be Number 1 contenders.
That's sensible, but you figure you've got to have a VGCW Title match at End Game, so you've got to have a contender before then. I see no reason Airman/DK can't determine the next contender, though.

With Arino and Sagat falling (Even if Sagat fell in his Tag Team), and me agreeing with RedJamesKidd (that Airman/DK can be the next one, because why not?) It looks like the guys with the best claim are Gabe, Groose, Wario, and Kefka.

Personally, I think Kefka keeps getting shafted by these multi-way fights, given that his singles career is stellar, but more importantly, with Wario and Gabe likely to be heavily involved in the plot at endgame, I don't see who else could be in the competition other than Groose and Kefka.

Kefka's undefeated in singles, but Groose has shown himself to be a powerhouse. I think a straight up match, or maybe a 2 out of 3, would certainly be a fair #1 contenders bout.

I like the idea with Gabe, Groose, Wario, and Kefka

I don't want triple threats anymore, since they're definitely not as hype nor fair as a four way free for all, especially when it's down to the last two. Everyone will probably do better that way, including Kefka.

Not only that, triple threats often end up with someone shafted. :obamaroll:

Well, it's official. The #1 Contender match will be next week. And Sagat has clinched a position in the match with his victory over Mac!

So, who else will we see? I'm thinking Mr. Satan will be a definite possibility with his recent upset of Groose. He did say that he'd be going for the belt at the end of the last season, but no one expected it to happen after getting buried by the Nerd. With many of the other contenders preoccupied, that statement just might prove prophetic.

My current guess for the title lineup is Sagat vs. Mr. Satan vs. Haggar vs. Bowser.

Bowser could be replaced by Kefka or even AVGN if he's going to be occupied with protecting his Dragonball, though. Or maybe even put in Octodad as a longshot surprise contender. He did manage to beat freakin' Ganon, so that's got to count for something.

AVGN will be busy defending the Co-op championship to go after the main belt. Kefka, maybe, but he might still have something up his sleeve with this dragonball stuff. Bowser I think is just around for holding onto the Dragonball, I would be surprised to see him thrown back into mix all of a sudden.

Sagat we know will be in it. Haggar has a good chance at showing up again with his recent wins. Mr. Satan as well with his wins over Groose and Raph.

It could just be a Triple Threat. Sagat vs Haggar vs Satan

Mr. Satan getting in over AVGN after 8-1 is a travesty I say!

Bowser won't be in; he'll be around as long as it is necessary for someone to take the Dragonball off him, nothing more. There was also talk of Arino being in but I don't know what his loss to Wario does to that possibility.

Other than Sagat, Haggar seems like the closest thing to a lock we have. He's the highest-ranked wrestler without an engagement at End Game, is on two consecutive wins, is the previous champion and sat out the previous contender match. The only issue, really, is that Haggar's been hanging around the championship scene for so long, he's almost part of the decor at this point. I could see Bazza having him sit this one out, but I hope he won't. Other options I can see are Satan, Groose and... Octodad. Satan mentioned going after the VGCW Title last End Game and while it may have been bluster, Satan's deluded enough to try to act on it. Groose, meanwhile, may have lost to Satan pretty decisively last night, but he has a win against noted Streaker and Murderer Air Man, which has got to count for something, and he's ranked 12 still, which isn't too shabby. As for Octodad... yeah, I'm jumping the gun here a bit, but I'm a big believer in the wildcard and beating Ganon has got to count for a lot.

Sagat's a lock, and I agree on Haggar. I think Octodad should be in for a Triple Threat, in light of his stunning upset.

A possible plot idea: Maybe Gabe gives Octodad a #1 Contender spot in light of his victory over Ganon. This sets up a plot point where Ganondorf tosses him aside and takes his spot in the match(in another attempt to try to build his heel cred).

Ganon's certainly arrogant enough to think he can take on both Zangief and Mac in the same night, after all.

I could see that, Gabe gives Octodad a spot in the match then Ganon wrecks him off screen and takes his place.

And we have a new champ as Haggar fends off Mac and Barkley for his second championship belt! Now who's going to be his first opponent in Season 6?

My picks for the first #1 contender match in 2k14 would be:

Donkey Kong vs. Bowser vs. AVGN vs. Vegeta

Donkey Kong came out on top in his match against Air Man, so he's proven that he's still a beast even without the glitch bomb. It looks to be high time for him to attempt a clean run at the title. With the transition to 2k14, Bowser could also be due for a title shot. Plus, if he won the title, it would set him up nicely for a resumption of his feud with Ganon. The Nerd is another strong competitor, as well.

Vegeta seems to have retained most of his moves from his Majin moveset, if his battle with Kefka was any indication. He might be due to make a claim on the title he once held. Though he might have to prove he hasn't gone back to being the prince of all jobbers, first. Maybe throw him into a match with Sagat, and whoever wins gets the fourth slot in the contender match.

I think I could be happy if the title keeps bouncing between Haggar and Mac for a little while. That would be a feud worth watching, especially if DK gets tossed into the mix to muck things up (then maybe he and Haggar can team up afterwards and ravage the Tag division as Cromartie High like I've been dreaming about for the past several months). :dk:

Bowser, not so much; the rare times we get to see him in action is plenty enough, like a special treat every time he shows up. Not to say he doesn't deserve it, but he fits his current role much better than anyone else in the roster ever could.

I'm sure Ganon will storm his way through to another attempt at reigning over VGCW again, potentially knocking over other contenders like Airman and AVGN.

Is this reincarnation of Vegeta still Majin-ized? If so, sure, he can be given another shot to reclaim what was his when he left. If not, I'd be happy to see him in a couple of matches first but can understand it if he goes straight for the belt.

What about Ganon? He's been gone from the championship scene for two straight seasons now, but he's still the One True Champ. Ranking-wise, he should still be in the top 15, which is pretty much at the edge of good enough for a VGCW contender shot and career-wise, he's been winning more than losing, winning three and losing one during Season Five. I think enough time has passed and, if Haggar's threatening to be an actual champion this time, Ganon might want to get a word in.
