Think there could be a MiTB match today or at Endgame?

I could see a MitB match happening at End Game 8, it's been a while since Sonic cashed in.

As for who would be in it...let's see what happens tonight.

Goemon just lost a normal match clean. Granted, Wright's a tough opponent, but he has also come up short in contender's matches for the top title so that might be a bit telling. That said, this may take him out of the picture for the first contender's match of Season 9, while Duke's still right on track. If Duke keeps his momentum going, who do you think will be his opponent(s) for the next contender's match?

I think I'll go out on a limb and say the winners of Ganon vs Drac and Illidian vs Sabin might be ones to consider. Maybe not Sabin since that's his first match back, but possibly Illidian if he wins.

Well, that was certainly an ending.

For the next title match, my opinion is that it needs to be Scorpion vs. Ganondorf. The two greatest champions in VGCW history squaring off would be EPIC as hell. Beating Dracula definitely gives Ganon the momentum he needs to be put into title contention.

If there has to be a traditional multi-man match for the title, though, I'd also include Duke Nukem and Phoenix Wright, who are both at the top of their game at the moment.

While Sabin looked incredibly strong against Illidan tonight, I think it's still too soon to say whether he's championship material. Maybe give him another match against someone credible like Goemon or DK to see his true strength.

NOPE.
No to Phoenix, and Ganon's likely in upcoming plot.

Straight up Duke v Scorpion. No contender's match needed. Even prior to the rumble win Duke had the 2nd strongest case behind Bowser and Guile. Now there's no question.

Yeah this is good.

I also say Sabin needs one more test if he's also considered.

Duke vs... I don't know, Ganon or some shit. Duke definitely deserves it at this point, and the only other person that's been doing well but hasn't had too many shots recently I can think of is Ganon.

Let Duke show Guile how a REAL American does it...against Ganon? Oh boy, here we go again...

Duke for sure unless future matches halt that momentum. I'd say we probably won't see the title picture until VGCW returns, so we have a month of speculation ahead of us!

I do definitely agree that Ganon and Duke are the two locks for the next round of title contention. I just gave Ganon the nod over Duke because of the milestone of Scorpion beating Ganon's title defense record. I'd think the Lord of Darkness would have something to say about that.

Maybe save the Ganon/Scorpion match for Endgame 9, irregardless of whether or not Scorpion still has the title at that point?

Ganon's an obvious choice unless he's part of plot. Sabin needs one more big win to justify a title shot. Given that I doubt a #1 Contender's Match will happen in Episode 1 of Season 9, maybe Sabin COULD be given that chance in the form of facing, say, Phoenix or Goemon, who are near-title contention but not in the running at the moment.

If such a match DID happen and Sabin won, then I would book DOUK vs Ganon vs Sabin for the title. If he lost, then just DOUK vs Ganon. Both Duke and Dorf have some serious momentum behind them after tonight, but given how strong Scorpion is, I'd say that handing either a shot wouldn't be the right move. The winner of that match proves their worth 1000%.

As for Casual contendership, it's a bit of an odd playing field. Air Man is absurdly powerful in comparison to your average Casual contender, so it stands to reason that any lower-tier main event talent who have been cooling down as of late would be a good fit. That said, rising stars could also be a good choice. I think it depends on what each of their next matches entail, but I think that the guys who are in a good position to earn a shot are Bison and Ebisumaru. If Ezio actually grabs another singles win in Season 9, then he could be rewarded for pulling out of his slump with a Casual Contendership match as well. And, while it may seem like a weird pick, Jimmy Lee is absolutely in the running in my eyes. The man beat Haggar a couple weeks ago, and tonight he made both Groose and Haggar tap clean. He's the standout of The Dragons and if he went into singles competition he would like show that he's pretty gangsta himself and vie for the strap.

Transitioning into Co-Op contendership, if The Dragons decide to stick together indefinitely, then they're absolutely in the running for the next contender's match. Likewise, if Ebisumaru doesn't feel like going for a singles belt, then his rise combined with Goemon's slight cooldown from potential top title contention make them a good choice too. Also, we could see a new team build up momentum early next season, such as Toejam & Earl or a team that's formed next season (Ezio and Falcon seem possible). Though, maybe those would be better suited for the contendership match AFTER the first of the season.

Personally I'd book Duke vs Ganon vs Sabin, Bison vs Ebisumaru vs Ezio vs Jimmy, and The Dragons vs The Mystical Ninjas (have a mini-feud over two separate title shots brew between The Dragons and Ninjas, since the promos would probably be great).

I'm going to hold off on serious Casual predictions until the season starts, since there's a lot of out-of-commission midcarders coming back into the mix. I'll wait and see how the matches land.

Current possibilities could include Ezio, Groose, Dan, Snake, Bison, or maybe even Vegeta or Kefka.

If Vegeta goes for the Casual title, then you could make an angle out of him trying to become the first "Triple Crown" champ. He's won the main title as Majin Vegeta, and is one of the current Co-Op champs. All he needs is the Casual belt.

As for Co-Op titles, I definitely think the DK Crew should be given a rest, since they just had two title shots in a row. Good competitors would include the Dragons, Mystical Ninjas, Toejam & Earl, and Warioware. Or maybe we'll see yet another EDBW tag team come up.

Jimmy Lee is actually a totally reasonable choice for a casual shot. He pretty much soloed the bullies, and beat Heavy who we know is absolutely no slouch.
Donkey Kong would also be interesting to see in Casuals. He's one of the few wrestlers to actually beat Air Man in singles, and he's in a position where it's justifiable.
As for the big belt, Duke v. Guile. Guile deserves another shot. He'll have to win another match to earn it, but if he can't then I think Duke should just forgo the No.1 Contendership.

Championship is no contest - Ganondorf has ALWAYS been a good pick. If I had to pick a few folks to challenge him, I might choose Duke, or even Goemon if he's still performing well. The latter two would be good if Ganondorf is tied up with plot, and Drac would also be a welcome addition if he's not tied up.

Casual...good lord the spot's wide open as of End Game 8. I feel like Bison could have another solid shot at it. Maybe Goemon, since he's really between the two leagues right now. Sonic did pretty well in the rumble and I wouldn't be surprised to see him there myself. But good lord, almost anyone could earn themselves a shot here.
