The one guy we all pretty much knew would be in it takes the shot for himself. Tougher than Knuckles. |

Dan vs Knuckles feels so right as a Casual Championship match. I love it. |

DK vs Haggar vs...Hmm Ebisu would be a good choice for Hardcore contention if he loses to duke. |

DK vs Haggar vs Snake maybe? DK and Haggar at this point seem pretty set. It's either the Mayor of Bullying or Youngblood who I want to see having a go at the title again. Just please...please not together. Haggar vs Little Mac is not a matchup we want to see redone. |

I feel like Snake might wind up in a plot development. Granted this plot has been a lot less about gabe than I had expected it to be, so Credit to Bazza for throwing me a swerve, who knows. |

Ebisu v Haggar, DK v Mac, winners have a #1 Contender's match. Or just a fatal four-way again, that'd be cool. |

The only other name I could maybe see sneaking in is Cage, he did lose the four way but the scalps he's taken since joining must reward him with a prize better than one of six contesting the Casual ladder match. He is way above that level, and deserves something else. Now that I think about it the next contenders match will probably be sometime next season maybe? So there's still a few more shows for someone else to shine. Edited by stienerontheforklift, Jan 7 2015, 01:55 PM.

I feel like it'll be at Endgame at the lastest, but I'm like the only one hoping that Red/Scorpion 2 happens like next tuesday. |

Red/Scorps will most likely happen at End Game 9, it's worthy of a PPV spot and hasn't been hyped up yet (in plot) so I can't see it happening soon. Til then and i guess after as well I'd like to see 'test' singles matches for DK, Haggar, Cage, Snake, Ganon and Air Man. - Beat uppermidcarder Goemon, Kefka and Sabin in a triple threat and did well in the Tag match with Scorpion. People want to throw a contendership at him but I'd rather a match against a higher up wrestler to cement it, as well as keeping that kind of momentum until after Red/Scorps - Recently won a fatal four way and looked strong (and light), beat Zangief and Goemon in a triple threat and has looked strong for a while. This is why I'm not convinced when people say DK Haggar for contendership, while they've looked impressive they haven't really been tested against the top of the company yet. Haggar is pretty much the same as DK, he should have at least 1 more match against top talent to see if he's readyJohnny Cage - Came second in the Fatal Four Way, beat Bowser, lost the Casual Ladder Match (Doesn't really stand for much) Lost to Vegeta, Beat Little Mac. Cage has a more legitimate claim to a contendership match but his record and momentum is more stilted than other possible contenders. - Fresh off great matches with Illidan and getting fucked on by Grey Fox. Before that he lost to Ness in a triple threat (But that was ages ago) Snake's only hiccup was his match with Grey Fox, and unless plot gets in the way of contender matches (I don't remember any examples but I think it might've happened before?) Snake looks decent for another shot - It's been talked about for a while but looking at his match history Air Man has been stomping on midcarders for his last few matches. The 10 he's beaten for his singles streak (in order) were Red, pinning Dan in a 6 man, Segata, Cage, Heavy/Arino, Falcon, Vegeta, Red 2, Barret, Octodad. He might also be tied up with Ezio in what was probably foreshadowed as an End Game match, but Air Man hasn't proved himself against a top talent in a singles match for a while - Since Chamber of Elimination Ganon has had barely any success in the tag division and beaten Dracula and AVGN/Sanic but his claim to a contender match hasn't dwindled in my eyes. While he may be facing Gabe or in Tags for a while, Ganon is still a huge beast in singles and unlike Bowser, hasn't suffered singles losses recently.I stopped typing the sentence after Haggar but the case is exactly the same for each of these 6; they need a match against a top talent to show that they're on the level of a contender. Either have them face off against each other (DK V Haggar, Snake V Air Man and Cage V Ganondorf sound good to me) or against other 'top talent' like Duke, Phoenix, Little Mac, Dracula, Bowser and Dante, although that might create a situation where we have the same faces in a contender match if Duke and Phoenix win. Dante is also on the cusp of being one of the top in the company, but we'll wait and see if his End Game match impresses. |

Looks like this prediction came true, at least. So let's focus on the Casual title scene instead. So who's Knuckles going to have to face at Endgame? I'm thinking the most logical contender match is Ezio vs. Groose. Ezio just pulled off a huge upset by toppling the titan that is Air Man. Unless the blowhard insists on a rematch at Endgame, that seems like exactly the sort of coup the assassin needs to vault his way into another title shot. Groose has had a lot of chances for the Casual belt already, but he's been deserving for a while. Besides, he just scored a recent win against Octodad; another regular in the casual scene. Both of these performers have been hungry for the belt for quite some time, but haven't quite got there. With Endgame on the near horizon, a match between the two seems like the perfect test. Other honorable mentions are Segata, Jensen, Kefka, and Eggman. Maybe even Snake, though he's a bit too good to be slumming it in Casuals. |

I agree with Ezio vs. Groose. It's about time we had a 1v1 match for the Casual Contention anyways. |

Groose again? He had like 2 in a row for doing nothing. Why not just hand Ezio the Casual Championship match at End Game 9 instead? Even though I don't want Knuckles to potentially lose his Championship as he just got it but Dan was in the same position. Doesn't make much sense to not give it to Ezio at this point. |

Pretty much. While Groose could potentially be put in a Contenders Match, he's already been in two, and got shut down in both of them. Just give the shot to Ezio. |

So we need a tag team match for end game as well and there's likely not too much time left for it. The teams who've got recent wins are the Bullies and Dragons. But the Dragons have just had a contendership shot and the Bullies last match before this one was a loss to the champs. So I dunno. Birds of Prey also have a win to their name but it's their first and even though they've only had 3 matches all up, it'd be strange to give them a shot with a record like that. But they did have the most impressive victory of the lot. So i've got no idea how this is going to go down. If I had to guess i'd say Bullies/Dragons but i'd be unsurprised if the Birds replaced them. |

I think Bullies Vs Birds, if anything, since Dragons got a recent shot and their recent win was against... Well TJ&E. I'd like to have Dark Lords vs Bullies and perhaps Dragons vs Birds and the winners there fight eachother for Contention but We might not have too much time unless there's an episode devoted to title setups and promos for EG9 which, I wouldn't be against. |
