have we considered who will be next up for Casual contenders?

If not I'd like to throw Kefka's name in, I've never been bored watching a Kefka match and he's been doing rather well lately

I also think Flint should be considered given his recent hot streak

there, how about that, Kefka vs Flint, sounds good to me

NOPE.
Next casual contender's match should be Knuckles vs Knuckles from the Knuckles the Echidna Series & Knuckles.

(no seriously, the series is 1-1, there NEEDS to be the rubber match to settle this).

ok well AFTER Dan and Knuckles 3 & Knuckles I think Kefka and Flint are good candidates

Dan EARNED a damn Championship match. If Knuckles wants a rubber match, he better earn one himself.

But I REALLY want to see Kefka vs Flint. Don't you? HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN FLINT'S NICKNAME? HE FREAKING BIT HIM! WE NEED TO SETTLE THIS!

And I take exception to Duke's being "wins over midcarders" considering the guy had a singles record of 10-1 since Endgame 6 over people like Ganon, Guile, and Gabe Newell.
True, I was looking at his recent record after the triple threat loss to guile. My bad

Also my issue with the 'give Scorpion as many challengers as possible' thing is (at least for me) the excitement surrounding the title scene is lost. With properly built up contenders that have time to impress outside of contender matches and then 1 or 2 weeks before the title defence I go into the title match excited for someone who can potentially defeat Scorpion, as well as enjoying the buildup in plot. Right now we have Mr One win but in the past he's done well so its possible, Mr Flip Flop could be good could not be and Mr has had 0 topcard wins in 2k14 and lost to a super good wrestler but maybe possibly could beat this other super good wrestler. Unless one of them looks like an absolute beast in the contender's match or Bazza manages to pull off some great plot (very likely really) it's going to remind me of the Ness and Kefka title defences

You don't lower the bar when you have a really tough champion, it just means more wrestlers will get shot down and have to rebuild after their 'push' was rushed, and likely just ends in some jabroni beating Scorpion down the line after several weak defences that doesn't make anyone look good. Even though it inevitably will be for most people, the end to Scorpion's reign shouldn't be a 'Fuck thank god it's over' moment, it should be the payoff to a story or a feud that people were interested in, where the next champ goes on to also have a strong reign. Lowering the bar just to get the belt off Scorpion will most likely lead to a less satisfying end to Scorpion's reign, and while it's very difficult because of the nature of what VGCW is, it'd be a huge pity after 2 whole seasons

Ladies Love it.
Flint and Kefka are the two most notable casuals right now, aside from the ever included
Groose and Bison, but I don't think there was a casual contender without one of them the entire last season aside from Ezio vs Dan.
Casual isn't in the same position that Main was though, with Casual we can afford to take two or three shows and see who builds themselves up for now.

Yeah, I was about to say Bison vs Dante. Seems like a great matchup and a great potential contender.

Bison/Dante needs to happen. Dante is the lock but Cage is so damn good and too powerful to ignore.
So Bison/Cage, please. What a match that would be.
As for casuals, Kefka's earned himself a place, definitely. Arino also has a pretty significant case.
Dan v. Kefka v. Arino sounds nice.
