Lots of options...but I'd rather not have a triple threat. Not the biggest fan of that match type. |

I agree Kang, no more Triple Threats. It is WAY too "Gang up on one guy" happy for a contender's match. |

Yeah, that's true. In that case I'd go with the Dante vs the winner of Cage/Bison idea |

I'll agree with a post I saw somewhere earlier and say Bison vs Dante for the next contendership. Both have wins over Phoenix Wright in Extreme Rules matches, which I find funny. Just please don't make the contendership match itself Extreme Rules.

I can agree with the general sentiments here. If we're going to make it a four-way match, here's who I'd pick: Bison vs. Johnny Cage vs. Dante vs. Duke Nukem Bison just scored a win against Protoman, a former champion. If beating Phoenix wasn't enough to make his case, then this should be enough to push him to the top card. Dante's been red-hot since his debut, and he's only lost in multi-man matches so far. His victories include matches against Mac and Phoenix. Since Season 10 will supposedly be the season of the newcomers, could it be a newcomer that will topple Scorpion from his mountain? Johnny Cage is a bit more swingy with his record. While beating Vegeta helps make his case, and previous victories include Mac and Bowser, he might need one more match to see if he's ready for a title shot. Perhaps it's time for a Star Road memorial rematch with Illidan? The fourth slot is more up in the air at the moment. A lot could happen in the weeks leading up to the next contender's match, after all. Right now, Dook probably has the best shot due to his performance in the GM Tournament and a victory over Travis. But Duke has faced Scorpion before, so it's uncertain whether he'll get overlooked in favor of fresher faces. |

Duke was in a Title Match last season, and Cage just won a match. |

As for the Casual contender's match, some possible thoughts might be: Knuckles vs. Kefka vs. Arino vs. Illidan We already know Knuckles is going to get another shot. If Gary was going to blow him off, he would have done it this episode. Kefka has taken down Zubaz, Toad, and Wario, which seems like a solid case for a casual shot. Meanwhile, Arino just scored the underdog victory in that fatal four-way, so that has to count for something. And of course, there's the possibility that our new GM will throw his stooge into the mix. But does Illidan even have any business being in casuals? It seems like beating him is a surefire way to get pushed toward the top, but most of his victories have been against midcard talent. Maybe Illidan is the new king of the midcard after all. Maybe put Flint in place of Arino if Arino's going to get elevated. Edited by Wyvernil, Mar 10 2015, 09:26 PM.

I know Illidan isn't a monster like we all assumed, but putting him in the Casual scene would basically be saying "Yeah, don't worry about this guy. He ain't a threat." and then we've lost a whole bunch of what makes Illidan so good. He always SEEMS threatening, maybe more so than he actually is. Bison vs Dante would be a fantastic singles match to decide a new contender, but Cage does deserve a shot as well...but triple threats, man...always so bullshitty. |
