To be fair, his first match in the 2k14 era WAS against the Nerd...who tends to beat most people he fights. :ass:

I wasn't going to look at the main title until the Haggar/Gabe match was resolved, but right now my picks would be:

Bowser vs. Ganondorf vs. AVGN vs. Wario.

If two more competitors were needed, I'd go with Sagat and Scorpion for my picks. The only reason I didn't consider Scorp and Wario for the casual matchup was because, going by the power rankings, they're looking strong enough to contend for the main title.

Though maybe Scorpion could use another match against a top-tier talent (such as Sagat or Mac) to see if he's main eventer material, or if his win against Mr. Satan and Airman was just a fluke.

Honestly, I'd put Wario against Scorpion to see who can get a chance at a Title Shot. Plus, Sagat isn't a top-tier talent in all honesty. He hasn't proven himself enough and he's yet to have a Singles match in 2K14.

Yeah, I agree on letting Sagat cool his heels for a bit. He hasn't looked good recently and he's still relatively new. He got pushed to the moon at first, justifiably so given how hot he ran, but he hasn't earned the right to be a member of the permanent VGCW title scene just yet.

I'm also feeling like it's time to pull the trigger on a VGCW title push for Scorps at this point. Sure, it might seem a little weird that Scorpion's going from failed Casual Championship contender matches straight to the VGCW title scene, and before the once-Casual Champion and his now-greatest rival to boot, but the time is ripe. He's got the hype, he's got the moves, he's even got the recent track record to justify giving him a shot at the big one. Bowser, Ganon and AVGN are all locks ranging from 'obvious' to 'overdue' as well. Wario's also justifiable. Red... I'm not so sure about. I admit the kid is obviously a huge draw. That's not in question. But... VGCW remains a meritocracy and I just don't see how you parlay a good PPV match and a win against Nappa into a VGCW title contendership opportunity when your most recent outing is a loss, your three matches before the Nappa win were losses and you're ranked in the 30s. Red looks to be in the middle of an overarching plotline where he's trying to earn his place into the title scene by overcoming his Achilles' Heel against the upper tier wrestlers and tossing him a pity championship slot would ruin what he's got going on. Book him the moment he wins a match against a high-ranked competitor, but not before.

As for the Casual belt, Wyvernil's picks (Nappa, Ezio, Captain Falcon, Octodad, Goemon, Guile) are all fair, but I'd also add Gief's name to the list. He actually won his last two matches (granted that one was against Gary but you know what? YOU KNOW WHAT??? I DON'T CARE) and he hasn't been in contention for a belt in forever, but he sure doesn't feel ripe for a VGCW title shot either.

:VGCWBelt: For Hardcore title, I say Triple Threat Elimination match between Bowser, AVGN, and Ganon will be the way to go. All three of them held the belt previously, have won their respective match in Season 6, and are long due for Title Shot. Any other wrestlers in the Upper-Midcard does not have as much impact as these three.

:CasualBelt: Scorpion definitely needs to get into Casual contenders match.

:mitb: We also see underdogs like Gief and Ezio, who are under hot streak. I say book them in couple more matches and put them in Money in the Bank match. This gives them opportunity to get into main event and can be used to gain momentum. Wario and Mr. Satan, who are both upper-midcarders and have charisma in the ring, can utilize the Bank in entertaining way.

I'd book Little Mac into MiTB as well just to see Soviet Screwjob happen again.

Didn't Bazza say that the people who'll be in the MITB are those who have never held a championship? You can cross out Satan, Gief, and Wario then.

Guile did nothing wrong
:VGCWBelt: There's obvious guys who deserve contention, like Bowser and Ganon. I hate to admit it, but Nerd too. The match needs a wildcard though, and no one has worked harder than scorpion to earn that opportunity. He's at a Daniel-Bryan-at-summerslam tier of hotness right now, it's time to pull the trigger or :buried: him
:CasualBelt: Ezio is the most obvious choice. I would also add Captain Falcon, Gief, and some other midcarder, maybe Bison or Nappa

For the eventual :mitb: match, Gief and Mac are a must since it's the first of 2k14. Guys down on their luck, like Red or Jensen, would be a good fit. Other guys like Barret and Guile could also use it to finally break the glass ceiling.

Barret/Duke/Arino/Sagat/Gief/Ezio is my dream MITB. All faces, I realize, but all upper carders who just need that one nudge to the title.

I belive this has been said before about Red but he has come full circle from his time as Ash, since he was casual champion that takes him out of the running for the MITB if Bazza sticks to what he said, I still think he and scorpion should atleast get a number 1 condenter match soon.

Meant to write this after the last show. We might get a Contenders match tonight, so a quick look at what’s happened since last time.

Previously, on VGCW...

Segata continued to build his case with his third Casual defense.

Kefka, Duke, and Air Man dropped out of the Top 10, and Gaben, Ganon, and Wario moved up.

Let's look at our rising stars!

:uhno: #4, Nothing to say about Gaben since he’s already got the Contendership.

:darklord: #6, Ganondorf made the Honorable Mention last time, so I’ll just add that his victory over Duke didn’t clear much up. We’ll see how he does when the match isn’t set to Quick and he can’t pull out GVD’s two minutes in.

:mrmoney: #7, Wario’s last Contenders match was April 26th (S4E03), a Fatal Four-Way Steel Cage match against Donkey Kong, Dr. Wily, and Chief Arino, which Wily won. Some talk about Mr. Money as a Casual contender, but his last three 1v1's were wins against Goemon, Arino, and Segata. So, is he main title or Casual? :idunno:

Honorable Mention:

:scorp: Scorpion is on fire. Ranked at #11, he's on a mission to prove he’s truly surpassed the title King of the Midcard. His last shot at the main title was May 11th (S4E05), in the King of the Ring Tournament held to choose a new champion after Vegeta's death. He was eliminated in the first round by Adam Jensen.

Well, the main title match was certainly worth the weight, as Gabe throws his weight around and wins his first title(besides the one he held at the very beginning of VGCW).

All the titles are now in open contention, so who will end up facing the wallet squeeze first?

Main Title Picks:
Bowser vs. AVGN vs. Ganondorf vs. Wario

These four seem to be unquestionable locks(at the very least, Bowser, Ganon, and Nerd deserve a shot), but there's a few other contenders who could end up sneaking in.

- Scorpion is fresh off a stunning upset, so he could be pitted against another contender such as Sagat or Kefka to test his might.

- Duke Nukem is another possibility, if he puts himself into another match to throw himself into the contender's match. The most fitting revenge he could have against Ganon is if they end up facing each other for the contender's spot and the Duke snatches it away.

- Donkey Kong could also find his way into the championship if he wins against a strong competitor. With Gabe as the champion, a possible angle could involve the big monkey getting back at Gabe for the light switching incident.

Other possible competitors may include Sagat or Mr. Satan. We could use some more booking of upper midcard matches to help determine the pecking order.

Did you know? Not counting Rumbles, only 7 characters on the roster have never had a chance to go for the VGCW Championship: Air Man, Goemon, Knuckles, Gray Fox, Dracula, Tingle, and Octodad.

Last night, on VGCW...

- New champion! Surely Gaben will not abuse his authority in booking his future challengers.

:uhno:

- AVGN looked good in his Co-Op defense. GameCenter FU is just one more defense away from being indisputably the greatest Co-Op team of all time.

- Little Mac got his first match of 2K14 and it was a hard-fought victory over Guile, who did look tougher than he was in ’13. Still, I’d rather not see Mac in a Contenders match yet, since he was just champion a month ago and I like to see fresh blood.

- No movement in or out of the Top 10.

Personal Picks:

There have been exceptions, but VGCW has traditionally held Contenders matches as Four-Ways and Six-Mans.
Assuming a Contenders match is held next show, here’s six I’m thinking of.

:gwar: Bowser (#3) and :ass: AVGN (#6) are obvious. I went over their history before, but I don’t think anyone needs convincing. Even just the two of them going at it would be a dream match.

:scorp: Scorpion (#11) is red hot right now after winning over Air Man and Mr. Satan, perennial Top 10 competitors. It’s time to test his might against the very best.

:segata: Segata Sanshiro (#2) wait let me explain. The Casual Championship is supposed to be for midcarders, but does Segata still belong in the midcard in 2K14? Why not put him in the ring with VGCW’s finest and settle how strong this Casual Champion really is?

:mrmoney: Wario (#8). A win over Goemon doesn’t say much, but at least he’s won a singles match in 2K14, which is something Sagat and Mr. Satan can’t say yet.

:darklord: Ganondorf (#7) hasn’t won a match in 2K14 with the regular settings. He gets in on his reputation. Winning a Six-Man would remove all doubt.

I'll die laughing if the next contenders match is a match between Badman and Jensen.

No no no Gary Oak and Jensen. Clearly Gabe is just trying to give Gary Oak a chance right? Like he did with Red?

I would love to see him book himself against the Pyro only to lose the championship to him again.
