If Gauntlet matches really have a limit of 1v3, then I think Dante and Johnny have to be in there in some capacity. Choosing a third is hard. Recent trends suggest to me that it should be Duke, but the option's there to throw in an off-the-wall candidate like Gief or take a big risk like Layton.

Also, my feeling is that whoever comes out second has the best chance of winning if it really is just back-to-back straight singles matches. Whoever gets first is probably going to lose but will do enough damage, I feel, that a sig/finisher combo from the next guy will be enough. Third guy will definitely win if it gets that far, though. So while I'd kill to see Dante just straight up end it in the first round, I'm hoping he grabs the second spot.

I'd suggest Dante, Bison, Cage. Three big names, we all love, and want to see more of.

So could Bison. He loses enough in multi-mans that I don't wanna see him in this, mostly because I just don't think it's good taste having the guy you beat come in after you to get the title.

Like I'd rather have Goemon in there than Bison, even if I like Bison more. Or Gary just putting in SENATOR STEVEN ARMSTRONG because why not.

But I want Bison in an honest to God promo with no gimmicks or frills in his way. I want him to climb the ladder the hard way, from chopping block to champion. No shortcuts. Dante, fine. Cage, fine. Goemon, fine. Bison? No, no Bison earns it. And he rubs it in everyone's faces.

I'm with you on that.
Shame he got screwjobbed there.

Hell though, if we're doing beat the clocks for this then there'll probably be 6 possible.

Right now?
Dante, Cage and Bison are kind of locks, and the remaining slots could be any combination of these
In order of Likelyhood.
Goemon, Layton, Flint, Geif, Octodad, Duke, Sabin.

Goemon is most likely, since he's had a bit of a resurgance lately, I don't really want him there but I can't deny his fight with Haggar was great. (Haggar should be in this place instead -a-)

Layton is a wildcard here, coming off the six man win, getting squashed by Flint, and then Brainteasing Guile. He's new gen, people want to see him, and I wouldn't be against it either.

Flint, if Layton's possible, should be as well, 3-0 in his singles and has been beasting his tag matches, but who knows if he's ready for the main strap. I'd personally hope Dan retains so we can send the GODSLAYER at him instead of Flint being in here, but I'd be hype for it either way.

Gief's getting pushed. He's at the height of momentum, 3-0, though, against Casual Tier opponents, and the possibility of Mac/Geif X happening on the same night sort of dissalows him.

Octodad seems a strange choice given his recent record, especially since the slobberknocker he put on with Flint was...one of Flint's wins. But if I remember correctly, Ol' Break man wasn't doing too hot, but a win over Air Man put him into Gabe's Chamber, can the same happen for Scorpion's Tower?

Duke Nukem is well on his way to earning a shot again, after beating Pheonix, crushing a wildcard Ebisu, and putting on a classic with Travis, but, Last season was Duke heavy, and he can take a well earned break. Besides, it looked like Duke could have Taken scorps down 1v1, it'd be a waste to have him here.

Sabin, last, and least, probably wont' be there. Despite a strong win over an EDBW darling, he's been injured by plot, and unlike Octodad's one win, Edgeworth isn't known for being a powerhouse, he's known for putting on good matches.

NOPE.
No one really complained about Snake and DK in the last contenders match, dunno why Bison should be any different.

However, I don't think his resume compares to Dante, Cage or Gary enough to be lumped in with that group anyway. He beat Phoenix in Extreme Rules and...that's mostly it.

I wouldn't see Bison either, Goemon is more possible.

I'd like to see Flint in it, he's got a couple of good singles wins.

I have a pipe dream of seeing Dr.Eggman, mostly because he's a highly decorated VGCW wrestler and it would have some sort of "nostalgia" something to it (excellently worded there >_> )

Edit: Even Dante, i mean the way he goes he could challenge for the belt legit instead of going into Scorpion's challenge.

So are we just assuming a gauntlet match here for challenge tower? Here's what I think it's gonna be:

5 wrestlers plus scorps in beat the clock matches like we do for chamber matches. Then the two in last have a vanilla singles, with the winner fighting guy 3. If you want you can mix up match types as it progresses. Winner stays on until everyone's had a shot, last man standing is champ. This makes more sense to me than a gauntlet because with a gauntlet what happens when you win beat the clock for the great opportunity to face scorps last... and then guy 1 beats him, tough luck no shot for you, should've won slower I guess?

As for the five wrestlers I'd choose.

1. Dante. What needs to be said here?

2. Bison. Multi mans aside he has a good recent record.

3. Armstrong. Gary will want the title on one of his boys, it won't be Illidan because Gary suddenly feels like ignoring him and Edgeworth lost recently so he probably sees Armstrong as a safer bet.

4. Goemon. A reasonably tough upper midcarder with a recent big win. Fills a solar spot to Proto man in the season 7 chamber match.

5. Gief. Push Gief lol

Thoughts?

If Flint Gief and Octodad are being thrown around then Kefka should be considered since he's 3-0 plus he's beaten The Best.

With Bison, it really depends on whether you think match quality trumps match outcomes. He's had good wins lately in singles. Sabin, Phoenix, Break Man. All tough wrestlers, but it's not really the most outstanding compared to some others. On the other hand, the only guy we REALLY have as a certain lock is Dante. Everyone else could be given one more match.

The reason I want Bison in the running is because he has such consistently good matches that I'd enjoy seeing him in the title scene because of it. He deserves something for standing out, but it would make more sense for him to be given another singles match against a topcarder to fully sort out that he deserves it.

The only Singles loss Bison has had recently has been against Oak, who is apparently a beast now, If we're reaching for a large number of contenders here, Bison's name deserves to be there.

From a pure curiosity perspective I'd like to see Bison vs Bowser or Bison vs Illidan.

Though I know it's unlikely, with Scorpion having 8 title defenses I think it would be amazing if the Challenge Tower was a 5-Man Gauntlet, with the new Elite Four with, say, Dante, as the fourth member, and Gary Oak as the final dude. Or just leave DAnte off, I don't care.

I don't even really want Gary as champion for the reasons others have already mentioned, and I still want to see this. Especially if Illidan or Armstrong can take it.
