NOPE.
|
Oooh, so this is why people were saying Jill in the MITB is a bad idea. Because it'd be the same as putting Snake in the same match. Nooow I understand. |

Nothing says we can't have both. Rumble winner faces the winner of Nappa/Snake or whatever Bazza decides to come up with. |

Rumble is fine....just don't wait a month afterwards to get to the match.

Last time was, like, the one single edge case Bazza pretty much had to hold off to End Game for. |

Anyway, it looks like most of the Casual predictions panned out, and Kefka and Flint will finally get their chance. The real surprise, though, is Eggman. He did beat Ezio, but it seemed like he needed a bit more time to boil. I was expecting someone like Heavy or Travis as a potential third man in a contender's match. Though the inclusion of Eggman does mean one thing. We could be looking at our first Triple Crown champ! The Practice has grabbed tag titles in the past, but apparently, way back in the dinosaur era of VGCW, Eggman had the main title! Who would have thunk it? Especially since Arino likes living on the edge and decided to challenge all his contenders at once. All it takes is one victory, and we have a new champion. And ladder matches are pretty much a coin flip anyway. |

Thinking over Nappa's first potential title challenger in more detail. It's company tradition that you have to earn a title shot, so don't expect Snake to be just given one. That said, for coming last in the Tower and arguably the closest to beating Scorpion, it would be hard pressed to say Snake hasn't earned one more contenders shot Zangief is at a crossroads over whether to pursue singles, or regroup with Ganon for another go at the Dragons. If he does go singles, I'd say his win over Mac gives him some credibility. Vegeta has just came off a big win over Groose, and with Cage and Illidan having lost and the title scene a bit open right now, it does give him some wiggle room to be considered in the running Finally, that leaves my darkhorse pick M. Bison. Before the Casual title match was announced, I was expecting him to be involved in that strap, but him being left out of next week's Ladder match might just leave him open for a shot at an even greater prize. There's also Sabin to consider as well. Beating Layton might be enough to push him out of the midcard. If he gets another big match against someone like Vegeta or Haggar, he could be a potential contender. Like Zangief, though, he might decide to focus on co-op instead. As for Haggar, he did manage to fend off both Toejam and Earl for a while and look strong while doing it. Maybe it's time for a Haggar vs. Gief rematch? Heavy could also be tapped to continue his singles career, now that the feud with the aliens has reached a conclusion. Goemon gets overlooked a lot, but he's currently in the top ten. I could see him in a contender's match if he manages to get another solid win. And then there's Kanji. He definitely needs a few more matches under his belt, to be sure, but beating a solid upper-midcarder like Johnny Cage in his debut is a good start. A few more victories like that and he might rival Dante for the hottest new prospect of the season. |

Forgot about Goemon, he does have a win over Haggar this season, and the Mayor is as legit as they come. |

I love Snake to death, probably my favorite or second favorite wrestler in the league overall, and I'd be cool with a Career vs. Title match. He's been beaten and abused and scraped and scrapped so much for so long that I feel like he's hit rock bottom. There's nothing left to be gained from a tale of suffering. Only a tale of triumph. If he were to leave, we'd have definite room for Liquid or Ocelot, too. It's win/win. Win, Snake. Win.

Snake puts on the single greatest match of his entire career, and now people are suggesting he leave the company if he can't win the title? Where's that for Barret? He's had far worse luck, his match is barely even a footnote compared to Snake's. Jesus Christ, I thought we liked Snake, where did this come from? So yeah, I'd quite like to see a Royal Rumble winner take on the new champion, but if we're going to have a contenders match, I'd be pretty hype seeing Solid Snake vs Solid Snake vs Solid Snake vs Solid Snake. I feel like these guys are the ones due a shot for the main belt the most. |

Barret shits the bed for us while Snake bleeds for us, it's no comparison really. My suggestion is far more boring than yours Semprini but I wouldn't mind seeing a straight up Snake vs Dante rematch. It's a ready made feud considering what Dante did to Snake in the BTC match and the four way. Plus both could easily feud with Nappa about the cash in and about how they weakened Scorpion up. It doesn't seem like there are any obvious new frontrunners although that might change when we get to the contendership. |

As harsh as Snake's circumstances are, he's still sitting pretty compared to a lot of the roster, and he hasn't even dealt with Nightmare Gabe yet to avenge Gray Fox. The fact that he's a super solid Face means it's not like he'll get jeered to hell for losing the MOTY either, and the dude's looking comfortably top card too. You're effectively arguing that Snake should risk actual career suicide, which is overreacting in a big way. Regarding a future title shot for Snake, while I too would like to see him get another opportunity, the only person to ever be a consecutive contender without having to go back into normal fights first was Phoenix Wright. As such, Snake will probably have to work toward another Contender's Match, meaning he might not be near the big gold for a while. Furthermore, Nappa has beaten Snake before with a single Scoop Slam in an Extreme Rules match. Though Snake did take weapons damage, Nappa took far more yet held on like a tank, so even in vanilla singles the Sayian might prove to be a tough foe for the soldier. Should Snake get a swift second chance, it won't be easy. |

So if I were to follow the logic for picking the challenge tower participants, what is stopping Dante from getting another shot. I understand that Dante was actually in a championship match, not a normal contenders, but from what I can tell nobody has really been notably trending with the exception of Zangief, so like how Snake and Barrett got another chance. But what about Gary you ask? Well, he lost his Beat the Clock match so he has less of a claim, but still a claim nonetheless. Edited by BAH GAWD KANG, Apr 29 2015, 08:23 AM.

that's right snake

Dante should definitely still be in title contention. He's banked up enough wins for like three title shots at this point. Honestly, I wouldn't be too upset with a straight up rematch between him and Snake for the first shot. |

After last night, I think Barret and Gary are out of title contention. Snake really needs more actual wins before just getting a free title shot. Just because he put on an excellent show and "has had a hard life" doesn't earn him a third straight contender's match considering he's spent the past couple of months getting the shit beaten out of him by everyone else in the Challenge Tower, and hasn't had a win this season. I mean come on, Dante's decisively beaten him twice in a row now, so if we want to go ahead and give Dante a free title shot, let's go right ahead. |
