We do still got a few weeks before EG, that gives us some time to sort out the contenders scene. Perhaps a round robin tournament next week to decide who goes into the contenders match? |

Together We OH GOD

That's the thing about Kanji. Ordinarily I'd be saying he needs a bit of time to prove he's truly topcard, but when you beat two of the men who came closest to slaying the greatest champion of all time, you need to reconsider. Kanji's white hot, he puts on great matches and there's not many others who can claim such an impressive series of wins lately. Kid earned his shot. |

Ladies Love it.

Like I said, one more good win against someone who's topcard, like, the Dong, or The Duke, or....The Pheonix or something, and then I think it'd be safe to stick him in a contender's match. |

Guile did nothing wrong
|
He wasn't even the one who really beat Dante though, it was Zubaz's finisher. And Cage has always been a wildcard |

This is a good point, and a good reason for Kanji to get some more matches. |

Order! Order in the court!
|
Snake got squashed by Barrett, who got squashed by Scorps. He's not really the best barometer for being a topcard in general, he can get squashed himself. It was definitely a good showing for him though, I'll give him that. He should get more matches. Edited by TheWorst, May 19 2015, 08:01 PM.

I dunno. Maybe we could have a King of the Ring for a shot at the belt. Maybe even vote in who gets to be in it. ...I just really want a non Star Road KOTR. I realizes its only been like twice, but it feels like we've had a ton of Tag Team Tournaments. I want some VGCW veterans in a tournament dang it! Edited by MaxOfFewTrades, May 20 2015, 12:33 AM.

A tournament to set up who would face Guile at Endgame would be awesome. |

Sounds Like A Bodacious Time
|
if Duke beats Kanji (I'm assuming they're having a match) he needs a contender shot. Guile/Duke needs a rubber match. |

Remember last year when we were excited for this?
|
The only problem I see with the plan to throw more good topcarders against Kanji to see if he's worthy of a title shot, is you eventually run out of enough good topcarders to have a solid contender's match. Duke vs Kanji is a #1 contender tier match. If you want to have another proving match for Kanji before he gets a contender's match, it should be against someone else who is in a similar position of possibly making top card but also needing to prove themselves. And right now that feels like Goemon, or Dan. |

Kanji making a run for the belt feels like something that could wait until his intro plot is concluded. He could easily have something at this Endgame for that without going for the belt. |

NOPE.
|
I'm mostly in agreement that we should wait with Kanji...but who's gonna take his spot? Sabin maybe? And a legacy pick like Duke who hasn't actually fought since the first episode? I dunno, I'm not a fan of taking a guy out of a spot who is basically the strongest resume wise on the whole show as of right now. |

That's why I'm saying we need a tournament. All we have is a bunch of "maybes" We have very few true LOCKS, and if End Game is really coming in a few weeks I don't know how many people are gonna bubble up to the surface. But with a KOTR whoever wins just beat 4 guys in a row, hard to say he didn't earn a shot at the belt at that point. No maybes, no luck via rumbles, no shenanigans through triple threat or 6 man shenanigans. Just a bunch of vanilla 1v1 matches with one guy standing on top going on to fight the champ. Zero ambiguity, no maybes or what ifs, just a clear cut contender. |

I'd prefer to see a KOTR for the lower card actually. I think they could make better use of it, maybe after Groose v Kefka? As for the Main Belt, Sabin is definitely a lock and has had many impressive wins recently. The problem is his important as I can't think of many topcarders who are also on winning streaks, and I don't want Kanji to be in an Endgame title match for a season he came into halfway through (he looks like a shoe-in for the first title-shot next season though). If Ebisu had eaten the pin in the triple threat i'd say Nappa'd be good for a contender's match, and honestly I wouldn't mind seeing him face Sabin, just because Guile never did beat him clean. If not Nappa though, I wouldn't mind putting some strong looking upper mid-carders who haven't had a shot yet into a multi-man and having whoever wins fight Sabin for it. It could be the break a guy like Goemon needs to break into the top-card or for someone like Break or Airman to look like legit Main Event guys again. |
