Kanji's on a hot streak so far, but he still has only had three matches in his whole career. Donte was also pinned off of Zubaz's Dive Kick, so that wasn't all done by Kanji either. I'd say give him two more matches, though if the booking wants someone from the New Gen then make it one more match or put him in a multi-man contenders spot.

Since Zubaz did the finisher that put Dante away he should get a shot at Guile

I believe that next week I think we will have a picture. And I'm gonna guess the contender's match will be a multi-man.

MAY IS ̶B̶A̶E̶ HEEL!
Guile holding the belt does bring a lot more people into the fray because he isn't holy shit god tier like Scorpion and Nappa were.

Sabin (3 wins in a row) vs Dan (4 wins in 6) would be my guess right now but a Goemon win, which would give him 3 wins in a row, could make that a triple threat contenders for the main belt.

New Gen should also mean some new faces at the top and it'd be nice to see one of those guys make a breakthrough without having to blast through someone like DK or Duke to look 'worthy. Dan vs Bison already felt like a match that whoever wins gets a ticket to the top card.

Putting my two cents in, I'm all for pushing new guys, particuarly when my man Dan is one of them, but no-one should have a shot at Guile without going through Duke first. Maybe do Duke vs. Kanji, since those two have storyline reasons to fight each other anyway, and then Dan vs. Sabin (or maybe a multi-man with, Goemon, Phoenix, and/or DK involved also.) Winners of those two matches get put in a contenders match.

I love Sabin and Dan but holy shit the state of the contenders if that's it
Since we have Casual and Tag sorted, there's definitely enough room for matches to be booked around 'who should be in the next contenders' in the next couple of weeks.

Also just to put an idea out, what about Nappa? I understand he just lost his title but he won the title through the MitB even though his match history and place in the card was more than enough to warrant a contender's slot - and that isn't even mentioning the 'dubious' factors around his title loss. If he wins a match in a convincing fashion I have no issue with him being in the next contenders. If he isn't booked, I wouldn't pick him for contenders but I wouldn't be surprised if he does show up

I feel like the Triple Threat was booked so we might not have another champion reigning for as long as Scorpion did right after Scorps dropped the belt, because make no mistake, Nappa is a MONSTER. A Scorpion level beast who could keep that belt on lockdown if he had any intention of not messing around while he had it. He could easily score a Contenders match on his own merits, and I'd be fine with it because when he actually HAS the belt, he just screws around with it anyway. We could go from having an unbeatable beast like Nappa to having him drop the belt to Zubaz or something in a Tables match.

I say the only way Kanji deserves a title shot is if he beats Donte one on one. Otherwise, Donte's still the #1 contender in my mind: this "losing streak" he's on amounts to putting up a good fight against Scorps, being the last person eliminated in the Rumble and losing a triple threat match that he nonetheless dominated the early moments of. Hardly the biggest blotches to have on one's resume.

Posted this in the Season X general but it fits well here:
Sabin should be in the match. He's had three solid wins in a row, has good momentum, a good spot on the rankings. He deserves a title shot.
Then it gets cloudy. Goemon, Dan, Arino, and Break Man all need to have matches on Tuesday to help determine who faces Sabin.
Dante has lost two straight and just had a title match so I don't think he should get another one. Those five guys are the ones who deserve it at least personally for me.

I really hate how everyone has completely decided Dante isn't worth mentioning anymore now that Kanji has shown up. A loss to the single greatest wrestler ever and a loss in a brutal weapons focused Extreme Rules match and now we're all bored of him, I guess. Now Kanji is the face of the new generation and Dante can go swing, I suppose.

Maybe when he snaps Kanji in two when they fight one day you'll all come crawling back.

While Scorpion and Kanji/Zubaz aren't the most humiliating losses, they're still losses. And a Number One Contender shouldn't be a guy coming off two losses.
Look at it this way: Gonna do a :sports: analogy because why not. The Patriots and Colts are both 14-0: The Patriots decide to win those two extra games and be rewarded by having home field advantage. The Colts decide to lose those two games, and now when they face the Patriots in the Playoffs, they're playing at a disadvantage.
The Wrestler that loses two matches should not be rewarded for losing two matches.

I'm not really talking about Dante because I'm pretty sure he's being set up for a plot-based match at End Game given recent events.

That said, I think Sabin and Dan are pretty in for a contender's match. The rest I dunno, but there are people who should be in at least one more match before determining things.

I'm always the man.
If Cage wasn't struggling so much, it'd be great from a plot perspective. But alas.

From the current front runners, I'd imagine Duke would be the way to go.

Guile did nothing wrong
Im surprised that Dan is in the discussion when Bison is the only really good person that he's beaten, but he would be really fun so I'm fine with it

Duke vs Sabin would probably me my ideal matchup. Even if Sabin headlining End Game would be underwhelming, it could be a good story of a guy who was on the chopping block and a guy who was actually fired reinvigorating their careers.

Duke is still without a doubt the best option though, and it isn't up for debate

Sabin vs Duke vs Kanji vs Zubaz. Battle of the blondes for number 1 contendership. It helps that most of them actually belong in the main event or have history with Guile.

I'm sorry but he hasn't exactly made a strong case for that.
